Strictly's Stacey Dooley warns 'they'll take me from you' after daughter drama

Daily Mirror13 hours ago
The former Glitterball Trophy champion was in London with her husband to promote their new play, but the couple's day got off to a chaotic start
Stacey Dooley was forced to deliver an ultimatum to her daughter Minnie following "a couple of meltdowns" from the two-year-old before heading into London promote her West End play. The former Strictly Come Dancing winner and her partner Kevin Clifton, who first met after claiming the Glitterball Trophy in 2018, were scheduled to feature on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 programme over the weekend to discuss their nationwide tour of 2:22: A Ghost Story.

Unfortunately, the day got off to a rocky start with Zoe informing her audience that her guests had endured "a dramatic morning", resulting in "lots of people running around" backstage attempting to sort out the chaos before broadcast.

As she introduced the pair to her show, Zoe revealed: "I am thrilled to say that they've just about made it. But it's been a dramatic morning for our guests today, an awful lot has happened, but they're here now, it's Dooley and Clifton!"

After being introduced into the show, Stacey spoke frankly about the chaos the family of three had experienced in their rush to reach Broadcasting House. The documentary maker confessed: "I've just been painfully predictable this morning."
The trouble began when Minnie refused to take a shower, with Stacey admitting she was forced to give her daughter an ultimatum, as her face was smeared with food. She said: "We've had a couple of meltdowns at about 8 o'clock this morning, which was really fun, and then we didn't want to shower, 'I don't want a morning shower', and I said, 'You've got ravioli around your face, baby! They'll take me off you!'"

The excitement continued as Stacey, Kevin and Minnie reached the Radio 2 studios, where she "got stuck" while attempting to reach Zoe's radio studio.
Stacey went on: "And then I got stuck in the stair lift, and your amazing producer came to save me," prompting Zoe to tell Kevin: "There was lots of people running around past the glass Kev, and I was like, 'What's going down?'"
Kevin shared his perspective, saying: "They were all looking for Stacey's phone because she lost her phone downstairs, and, as we know, Stace will not get in a lift and we're, like, on the top floor of the building here.

"So they had to find some secret passage to get Stacey up the stairs. It's been a real journey to get here."
Stacey playfully interrupted with a quip: "I'm no hassle! I'm no hassle," leading Zoe to jest: "You knew this when you got involved, Kev! You knew what you were getting involved in!"
Kevin chuckled and concluded: "Yeah, I've got these two manic redheads who are making my life really dramatic!"
2:22 – A Ghost Story is set to be the first project that reunites Stacey and Kevin since their dazzling days on Strictly, as they step into the characters of Jenny and Sam in this spine-chilling play, reports Wales Online.
He took to Instagram to announce their collaboration with a snap of the duo, captioning it: "Day 1 back working with this little fella again. Last time was 7 years ago @sjdooley @222aghoststory."

"As soon as she said it, I couldn't unsee it. Every time I look at it, I just laugh. 'Claudia is a national treasure but I'm not sure I want to give birth to her!' Influencer Amy then shared the image with her 70,000 TikTok followers. Among the viewers was Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, who posted: 'Claudia's cute, so your baby will be.' X Factor stars Jedward also joined in, quipping: 'Middle name or first better be Claudia.' But others reckon the foetus looks more like lanky-haired comic Noel Fielding. Amy, from Hastings, East Sussex, added: 'The comments have kept me entertained for days.' It's not the first time a baby scan has caused a laugh. We recently shared how Claudia Winkleman looked totally different as she went bare-faced after eye op and revealed she was banned from wearing her trademark eyeliner. The Traitors host, 53, gushed about her doctor following a successful procedure. Claudia revealed she would be forced to go without her trademark eyeliner for weeks after her June op as she recovered. Although she didn't go into detail about what she had done, it was thought to be laser eye surgery, which is used to correct vision problems. Posting a snap of her cuddled up to her eye doctor Julian, Claudia wrote on social media: "This amazing human makes me see. "He's operated on my eyes before and he did it again today. "No eyeliner for weeks and I sleep in googles (no words) but I'm eternally grateful. "Do NOT zoom in on my left eye - it's wonky. "Thank you Julian. I paid for the treatment, this isn't an ad. "I just love him. It's very possible I'm still a bit sedated. Night night." In May, pictures were leaked of Celebrity Traitors being filmed in the Scottish Highlands with what looked like a Trojan horse. The 19 celebs on the show, hosted by Claudia, include Stephen Fry, Charlotte Church, Kate Garraway, Jonathan Ross and Celia Imrie. They have all had to hand over their phones to crew to prevent them from discussing game plans on the show, expected to air in October.

Strictly ‘drug probe' star was ‘off their face' on booze during show & crew smelt alcohol on their breath

ONE of the Strictly stars involved in the drugs probe was also suspected of drinking while working on the show after other cast and crew smelt alcohol on their breath. The Sun exclusively revealed at the weekend that the BBC had called in external lawyers to explore claims that two people from the dance contest had been taking cocaine. They were widely known to be using the drug, and it's been alleged that one of these Strictly performers were equally infamous for being a drinker. So much so that it was believed that junior members of the team were asked to keep an eye on them, during last year's show, to look for signs that they may have been boozing during work hours. When The Sun took these claims to the BBC last year they said they were not true, but its understood that the drugs probe may end up scrutinising all of their behaviour. A TV insider said: "The person in question is renowned for loving to party, and that is a major problem when it impacts on their ability to do the job they need to do on Strictly in a safe and professional manner. "It's not just about something being illegal or legal, it's about the BBC's workplace policies and how the behaviour of certain individuals can impact on their work colleagues. "On a very physical show like Strictly, with lots of sets and moving parts, the idea of someone being intoxicated in any way is wholly unacceptable." It's now believed that the BBC are set to offer the two stars at the centre of the drugs storm the chance to attend rehab. It comes amid claims it was widely known they took cocaine on the show, with a celebrity claiming it was "well known on the show that two stars took cocaine" One star allegedly said to another, about a third: "Have you seen their pupils ... they're off their face." Executives are now considering adding random drugs tests next year when Strictly tours where after-parties are known for wild scenes. A BBC spokesperson: 'We do not recognise these claims and, as previously outlined to The Sun, the scenario they put to us involving anyone being asked to monitor an individual is categorically untrue.'
