'Embarrassed' Hollyoaks icon discusses botched lip filler 'I knew something wasn't right'
Highlighting the findings on the show this week, the ITV chat show aims to raise awareness of the rise of 'cosmetic cowboys' in the rapidly-growing aesthetics industry and what viewers should look out for if undergoing treatments themselves.
As part of the special week of episodes, former Hollyoaks star Sarah Jayne Dunn appeared on Tuesday's This Morning to discuss her past botched lip filler.
Sarah, 43, who played Mandy Richardson from 1996 until 2021 on the hit Channel 4 soap, showed a picture of her botched lip filler and admitted 'I knew something wasn't right'.
The actress said: "Mine was lip filler, I worked in a beauty salon. I had my little boy, I was in between acting jobs, and my little boy was around I think six to seven months old.
"A practitioner came in to do injectables, had nobody booked in and offered me and the girls in the clinic: 'Does anyone want a treatment?' Naively, probably I was in quite a vulnerable place having just had a child.
"You don't really feel like yourself, you want a little bit of a glow up, so I was like: 'Yeah, great, this guy obviously knows what he's doing!'"
Sarah added: "Now, looking back, you know there was no pre consultation, no patch test, there was nothing. I didn't fill in any forms.
"I had the treatment done and immediately when having the treatment done I knew that something wasn't right. It was painful, it was uncomfortable, I could feel sort of the filler going in. I could feel that something wasn't right."
A picture of the botched lip filler then came on-screen to which Sarah explained: "That was me immediately after so I sent the pictures to a doctor that I'd been to previously. The thing is, I'd had filler before, it was painful, it was bruised, it was lumpy, it was swollen.
"I was embarrassed, you feel ashamed, I didn't even tell my husband. Obviously he knew but I went home and I remember sitting having dinner sort of feeling really uncomfortable. I didn't tell my parents and it wasn't until I had corrective treatment.
"I ended up having filler dissolved and having it redone by a doctor", adding: "If you don't know what to look for, where do you even start."
This Morning continues on weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV X.

Hunky Hollyoaks star 'signs up to celebrity dating app Raya as he returns to the UK to find love'
Ricky Whittle has reportedly returned to London and is reportedly looking for love as he signed up to celebrity dating app Raya. The ex-Hollyoaks star, who finished runner up on Strictly Come Dancing in 2009, moved to Los Angeles to work in Hollywood in 2011. According to The Sun, one picture showed the actor cuddling a quokka and another of him running shirtless through a street. A source said: 'It's like he's saying I'm cuddly, hot and very available. 'His profile popped up a couple of weeks ago. It says he's an actor who lives in LA but was visiting London. 'Given how good he looks, I bet he had loads of people swiping on his profile.' Ricky is best known over here for playing Calvin Valentine on Hollyoaks. After his character was killed off in 2010, Ricky relocated moved and has starred in shows including The 100 and American Gods. Despite all of his success across the pond, during his interview with MailOnline in 2023 Ricky did not completely rule out a possible return to the British soap one day. He said: 'Would I ever do a soap again? Probably not, but for fun why not, I don't care as I'm in a fortunate position, where I don't need to work. 'I haven't been in Hollyoaks for 20 years but at the end of the day you can never shy away from where you came from.' He also opened up about the influence his time on Hollyoaks had on his acting skills, saying: 'If it wasn't for Hollyoaks I wouldn't be where I am now. 'Hollyoaks is an education, you're learning 12 to 15 scripts every day and halfway through a day, new pages are coming down and it's like "learn them now" and you just get it done and don't think about'. 'My character went from being the good guy, to the bad guy to the club owner, to the policeman, to your sister's on drugs, to you'd killed someone and then he's back to life - it's like you go through a whole gambit of emotions'. 'If that's not great education for an actor- I don't know what is.' He added: 'I would never look down on soap actors because they're the ones that are putting in five days a week and I've got nothing but love for those guys and what that show did for me.' He turned his back on Hollywood in 2023, telling MailOnline he was 'done' with America and its 'crazy politics' and was planning to move away from Los Angeles. But just a couple of years later it seems Ricky may be considering a return to the big time as the hunky actor made a surprise appearance at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival earlier this year. He arrived on the red carpet in southern France looking typically dapper in a black tux ahead of his role presenting the festival's Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony alongside Shy'm, 39. The duo posed for photos together, with Ricky playfully making sure the spotlight was on the French actress as she put on a leggy display in an eye-catching black and white dress. Later in the evening the pair suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction while performing a dance routine on-stage as Shy'm spilled out her outfit momentarily. Whittle was last seen on television while playing Mickey Barnes in one episode of The Rookie, a show following a police officer in Los Angeles. Prior to that the 45-year-old had enjoyed a quiet couple of years work-wise after the end of American Gods in 2021.

James Martin considers leaving ITV show home after fears of getting 'lynched'
Celebrity chef James Martin has opened up about his love for his home county of Yorkshire, admitting he would be "lynched" if he didn't end up back there Celebrity chef James Martin has candidly expressed that he'll be "lynched" if he doesn't make his way back to Yorkshire. The 53 year old culinary star was raised on a sprawling 100-acre farm within the Castle Howard estate and cherishes his visits back home whenever possible. James currently divides his time among the Cotswolds, Manchester, and Hampshire, where he oversees his trio of restaurants. His current residence is in Hampshire, from where he broadcasts his show James Martin's Saturday Morning, filmed in a specially-constructed kitchen. His seven-bedroom Hampshire abode features an outdoor kitchen, a greenhouse, and sits on 1.5 acres of land. The bespoke outdoor cooking space includes a top-of-the-line wood-fired pizza oven, a large central island, and stylish green industrial lighting, setting the scene for the ultimate culinary experience. Segments of his ITV programme are shot within a converted garage. It's believed that the property is situated near James' eatery The Kitchen at Chewton Glen Hotel and Spa in New Milton. Despite residing in the south east, James' affection for Yorkshire remains evident. He informed his audience that he would be heading to God's Own County during the summer hiatus of his weekend show, reports Yorkshire Live. In a conversation with Food and Travel, James reminisced about his formative years: "I had an amazing childhood. We farmed 100 acres, so we learned the value of graft, but also about food. "It's an amazing lesson in life to learn at that age: to respect the people who produce food, that it's not just a given – people have to grow it, make it, produce it – and it also gives you a respect doing that as a career. I didn't enjoy school, I hated it, but I loved home life. I was always outdoorsy, mending fences, fixing tractors." He reveals the farm faced initial struggles as his father "wasn't a farmer by trade," having a background in catering instead. Nevertheless, the family persevered, eventually introducing chickens and pigs to their land. Yorkshire produce has consistently played a significant role in James' life - he even hosted a culinary tour across the county - shaping his approach to cooking. Yet, he admits it's the local folk that draw him back to his roots. He humorously notes that in London, if you strike up a conversation, "think you're going to mug them" whereas in Yorkshire, according to James, the people are "very honest and much friendlier". While he holds the Yorkshire populace in high regard, James doesn't shy away from praising the region's stunning coastline, the Yorkshire Moors, and the lush woodlands, labelling the area as "magical" and "diverse". Despite his deep affection for Yorkshire, it's somewhat unexpected that James remains settled in Hampshire, though relocating would present practical difficulties with his widespread ventures. However, James maintains that he has established a "routine" now. He reveals: "I know where I'm going on which day, every week, and the travelling isn't too bad." When probed about a potential return to his roots, James admits: "I'll get lynched if I don't end up in Yorkshire. I love Yorkshire." Catch Saturday Morning with James Martin at 9.30am on ITV One. This week's show, originally aired in 2023, features James in conversation with crooner Jack Savoretti, Midsomer Murders' Neil Dudgeon, and culinary wizards Glynn Purnell and Sabrina Gidda.
