The new season will again consist of 10 episodes and will explore a different part of Night City. It will be a 'standalone sequel' with a new cast of characters, as the teaser confirms, 'David is dead, but Night City lives on.'
Voice acting veteran Wendee Lee will serve as the casting director for the English dub.
The series, based on CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077, first aired in 2022 and was praised for its animation by Studio Trigger, strong storytelling, and soundtrack.
Despite concerns that the anime would remain a standalone series after its initial 10-episode run, Season 2 was announced at Anime Expo on July 4 2025.
While there is no release date yet, it is expected that the wait will not be as long as the first season, which was announced in June 2020 but premiered in September 2022.
Promotional art and a teaser trailer have already been released, with speculation that the new season could arrive in late 2025 or early 2026.
The teaser trailer released by Netflix features a mix of concept art animation and clips from the first season, accompanied by 'Dive' by Beach House.

Hunter Doohan teases ‘Wednesday' season two after Saint Laurent appearance in Paris
Hunter Doohan is stepping back into the spotlight with the return of Netflix's hit series Wednesday, which premieres its highly anticipated second season this August. Known for his role as Tyler Galpin, Doohan has kept quiet about the plot but promises the new episodes are 'bigger and better.' 'I'm sorry it took three years,' he told WWD, acknowledging fans' long wait. Season one left Tyler revealed as a murderous hyde; in season two, he dives deeper into the show's gothic fantasy. 'This time I really felt like from the start I was living in the heightened genre of the world,' he said. Fresh off the runway circuit, Doohan recently attended Saint Laurent's Spring 2026 men's show in Paris. Though new to the fashion scene, the Arkansas native, who grew up wearing Buckle jeans, now embraces designer looks. He chose a sleek suiting separates outfit for the show, skipping leather pants after a humorous back-and-forth with his team. 'Someone said, 'I don't know if you're a leather guy,'' he joked. The event also brought unexpected highlights, including meeting actress Cristin Milioti. 'I was obsessed,' he said. Doohan's schedule remains packed. He'll soon fly to New Zealand to shoot the upcoming Evil Dead Burn film. Later this year, he's set to appear in The Wilderness, an indie project. Despite his growing list of roles, many dark and twisted, Doohan is eyeing lighter terrain. 'I think I need to maybe play a few less murderers,' he quipped. 'Maybe do a comedy.' From Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Netflix stardom and Paris Fashion Week, Doohan's rise is equal parts grit, charm, and unexpected style. And with season two of Wednesday around the corner, he's ready to thrill audiences again, spoiler-free.

Netflix sets October release for Italian serial killer drama ‘The Monster of Florence'
Netflix is bringing one of Italy's most terrifying real-life mysteries to the screen with The Monster of Florence, a four-part Italian crime drama set to premiere October 22. The limited series will mark the 10th anniversary of Netflix's launch in Italy and is helmed by Stefano Sollima, best known for Gomorrah and Suburra. Created by Sollima and longtime collaborator Leonardo Fasoli, the series revisits the long-unsolved case of a serial killer who terrorized the outskirts of Florence for nearly two decades. Between the late 1960s and 1985, 16 people, mainly young couples, were brutally murdered in secluded areas. The killer was never officially identified, and the case remains one of Italy's most infamous. The Monster of Florence explores not just the investigation, but also the lives and suspicions surrounding the many individuals considered suspects over the years. According to Netflix, the series takes an 'immersive' approach to storytelling, delving into the psychological toll the case took on victims' families, investigators, and the wider public. The show stars Marco Bullitta, Valentino Mannias, Francesca Olia, and Liliana Bottone, among others. It's produced by The Apartment (a Fremantle company) and AlterEgo, with Lorenzo Mieli, Sollima, and Gina Gardini serving as producers. A teaser trailer released this week offers glimpses of a tense, shadowy Florence and flashes of the fear and confusion that surrounded the killings. While dramatized, the show is grounded in real events and is expected to maintain a gritty, suspenseful tone. For fans of true crime and international thrillers, The Monster of Florence looks to deliver a gripping look at a case that still haunts Italy and continues to raise more questions than answers.
