Bobby to meet with Kaizer Chiefs' R3 million flop

Kaizer Chiefs are set to part ways with midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane after just two years.
The 30-year-old joined the Soweto giants in June 2023 for a reported transfer fee of R3.5 million from Cape Town City but failed to settle. He made 13 league appearances for Amakhosi during the 2023/24 season; however, he failed to make a single appearance for the club last year.
Mdantsane was subsequently loaned out to Richards Bay FC in January this year, but only featured three times. It is believed that Chiefs are looking to seal the midfielder's fate in the coming days.
According to KickOff , the former Cape Town City star is set to meet with Amakhosi Football Manager Bobby Motaung over his future.
'They are still finalising a few things before Kaizer Chiefs announce his departure. The club is set to meet the player before the end of this week to shake hands and do a proper farewell,' a source told the publication.
Kaizer Chiefs have released four players this past week as part of their efforts to revamp the team for next season.
The players released are Edmilson Dove, Sabelo Radebe, Njabulo Blom, and Ranga Chivaviro. On Tuesday, Amakhosi announced that the Mozambican defender, Edmilson Dove, is no longer contracted to the team after three years with the club.
'Kaizer Chiefs and defender Edmilson Dove will part ways when his contract expires at the end of June,' the club said in a statement.
Amakhosi are set to jet off to the Netherlands for their pre-season training.

Can Kaizer Chiefs new trio spark a revival in the 2025/26 season

PORTUGUESE striker Flavio Silva was unvelied by Kaizer Chiefs to be a goal solution in the upcoming season. | @KaizerChiefs Image: @kaizerChiefs Kaizer Chiefs have taken their first bite at the transfer market, sinking their teeth into a new chapter with the unveiling of three fresh signings they hope will breathe life into their 2025/26 campaign. The Phefeni Glamour Boys, who wobbled and stumbled in every phase of the pitch last season, have moved with purpose to bring in left-back Nkanyiso Shinga, midfielder Ethan Chislett, and striker Flavio Silva—a trio they believe will anchor a revival. It's no secret that the season ahead must be different. It must be better. Amakhosi must avoid drifting into mid-table obscurity. At the very least, a strong finish inside the top half is expected—demanded, even. And with the transfer window still open, few would be surprised if more names are added to this growing list of reinforcements. Nasreddine Nabi returns for his second season at the helm—a captain now more familiar with the turbulent waters of Naturena. Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ Having steadied the ship with a much-needed Nedbank Cup triumph last season, the task ahead grows only tougher. Improvement in the league is now non-negotiable, and with the CAF Confederation Cup also looming, the road ahead will demand clarity and results. Here we will have a closer look at the three new arrivals and what each could offer as Chiefs prepare for the new campaign. Nkanyiso Shinga Left back Khanyiso Shinga has joined Kaizer Chiefs and fans are thrilled. Image: Supplied Amakhosi had one of the worst defensive records last season, and much of their issues stemmed from their inability to consistently prevent goals—often disrupting any momentum they tried to build. The left-back position, like much of their defence, saw constant reshuffling. Bradley Cross was the initial trusted option, but his lack of both form and consistency led to changes. Bongani Sam, a former Orlando Pirates player, struggled with injuries, further complicating matters for Nabi. Shinga, 25, is expected to offer much more going forward and could form a new-look left-side partnership with Paseka Mako, who has also been linked with a move to Naturena. Together, they could be crucial in restoring order and confidence at the back. Flavio Silva After showing early faith in Ranga Chivaviro last season, Chiefs failed to see the returns they hoped for, and the striker has since been let go. Now, the arrival of Portuguese forward Flavio Silva, 29, signals a fresh start. A striker in the mould of Chivaviro, Silva carries a promise of a more polished finishing touch—something Amakhosi desperately lacked last season, when they managed only 25 goals in 28 league matches. He netted 39 goals in 78 appearances in Indonesia's Liga 1 and scored 13 times in 87 appearances in Portugal's second division. While the level of competition may be questioned, Silva's eye for goal and physical presence could prove a real asset. Orlando Pirates news: Kaizer Chiefs sniped, R10 million midfielder

Orlando Pirates have yet again beaten Kaizer Chiefs to a prized player. This time it's Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis. Both clubs tried to sign the 23-year-old in January and last offseason but were met with rejection on both occasions as Appollis continued to prove himself as one of South Africa's best. The second half of last season saw a decline in performance, and it is perhaps because of this why Rise and Shine were willing to let their main man go. According to reports, Orlando Pirates eyeing JS Kabylie midfielder Sadio Kanoute. 'According to Africafoot , the Soweto giants are considering tabling an offer in the region of €500,000 (approximately R10 million) to lure Kanoute, who previously turned out for Simba SC in Tanzania,' a SoccerLaduma report revealed. In other news, there is growing concern that Orlando Pirates may see their golden boy Relebohile Mofokeng leave this winter. 'My biggest wish is to see Rele overseas in 2025/2026. I'm praying every day. I don't want to see him in the Betway Premiership again this season. I know God will answer my prayers,' Sechaba said '[Whether it's in] Spain, England, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Switzerland — Rele can play. I believe that with all my heart. Take him to Barcelona? He can play. PSG? He can play. Any country. I'll be happy — but not Saudi Arabia,' he added. 'Not yet. He's still young. He needs to compete in UEFA competitions. If he goes to Saudi now, he won't experience that. Yes, he'd be rich — but happiness is more important. You can have all the money in the world, but if you're not happy, it's worthless.' Kaizer Chiefs are finalising their preparations on home soil before boarding to the Netherlands on Thursday for pre-season. Chiefs players have been at their training village for about a week and will now step up their preps abroad. Upon the player's return towards the end of June, they have been doing their routine testing. This week, pictures have surfaced showing them stepping it up a notch by doing some gym work. In the pictures released by the club, two of the three players Chiefs announced as new signings on Tuesday were spotted. On Tuesday Chiefs confirmed the three acquisitions of Nkanyiso Shinga, Flavio Silva and Ethan Chislett . All three players being formerly overseas-based players prior to joining Amakhosi. The latter on the list, an attacking midfielder had quite a few options to stay abroad, including English League One side Wigan and Scottish Premier League side Motherwell. Now the two of the three signings that were spotted putting in the hard yards in the gym were Silva and Chislett. It remains to be seen if Shinga was also part of the session but was just not captured and uploaded. Another interesting face that was visible in the gym was young striker Naledi Hlongwane. The teenager formed part of the Chiefs DDC last season and finished as runner up in the golden boot race. In 2024 he rose to prominence after scoring two goals for the Carling All-Stars team against Magesi FC. Later in the season it was rumoured that he had been promoted to the Chiefs first team. Although he did train and travel with the team a few times, Hlongwane never made a match day squad. With Hlongwane spotted in the gym with the first team, it looks likely that he will travel with the Chiefs. Amakhosi fans, are you happy with the latest developments?
