Aamir Khan teaming up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for a film
The actor, who is awaiting the release of 'Sitaare Zameen Par' on June 20, confirmed the news in a media interaction.
'Lokesh and I are working on a film, it is a superhero film. It is a big-scale action film and it will start next year, second half,' Aamir told PTI in a group interview.
Kanagaraj is a prominent director in Tamil cinema, known for his action-packed and commercially successful films like Kamal Haasan-starrer 'Vikram', 'Leo' and "Master" with Vijay, and 'Kaithi' starring Karthi.
Aamir dismissed reports about a possible sequel to his 2014 comedy drama 'PK'. Instead, he said he is reuniting with "PK" director Rajkumar Hirani for a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the Father of Indian Cinema.
''PK 2' is a rumour. I'm doing Dadasaheb Phalke biopic, Raju and I are working on it,' he said.
Aamir said his most ambitious project is "Mahabharata" but he would not reveal any details until he has the basic foundation ready.
''Mahabharata' has been my dream for the last 25 years. It is not a film. When you are making 'Mahabharata', you are not making a film, you're surrendering. I'm trying, but I don't know if I'll be able to fulfil my dream. Till the time I don't make a basic foundation for it, I won't be able to answer . I don't have the right information right now. All I know is I'm going to start work on it,' the actor said.
Asked about the movies from his filmography that have the potential for a sequel, Aamir named 'Dil Chahta Hai' and '3 Idiots' .
"A sequel can be made to '3 Idiots' with those three characters , who can meet later . Also, a sequel can be made to 'Dil Chahta Hai', and 'Sarfarosh'.
"Like, in 'Dil Chahta Hai' we can explore the mid-life crisis of the three boys , and they all are seeking therapy. So, it will be an interesting thing, you know, for the three of them,' he said.

Malayalam actor Kalabhavan Navas found dead in Chottanikkara hotel, police suspect he suffered cardiac arrest
Malayalam film actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas was found dead in a hotel in Chottanikkara, Kochi, on Friday evening. As per news agency PTI, the incident came to light when the staff of the hotel, where Kalabhavan (51) was staying for a film shoot, alerted authorities. Kalabhavan Navas earned acclaim as a mimicry artist, playback singer and actor in Malayalam cinema.(X/@ItsleoDas) Kalabhavan was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead, PTI reported, citing the police. Police suspect he suffered a cardiac arrest. As per a report in The Hindu, Kalabhavan's post-mortem will take place at Kalamassery's Government Medical College Hospital on Saturday to confirm the cause of the death. His body will then be handed over to his family. Kalabhavan's body has been kept at the SD Tata hospital in Chottanikkara. Kalabhavan was staying in the hotel as part of the shooting of Prakambanam, a Malayalam movie. On Friday evening, the actor was supposed to check out of his room. However, after he did not arrive at the reception for check-out, the hotel staff found him unconscious in his room. As per the police, nothing suspicious was found in his room. Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled his death. A versatile entertainer, Kalabhavan earned widespread acclaim as a mimicry artist, playback singer and actor in Malayalam cinema. 'Kingdom' Box office collection day 2: Vijay Deverakonda's spy action thriller collects Rs 25.50 crore in India

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri , after a strong opening performance, 'Kingdom' earned approximately Rs 25.50 crore in India in total in two days. As per early estimates from Sacnilk, 'Kingdom' opened with an impressive Rs 18 crore on its first day. The film saw a drop on day 2, bringing in around Rs 7.50 crore, which is still a respectable number given it was a working weekday. It will be seen how the movie will perform over the weekend, especially with positive word-of-mouth and strong viewer interest. About the film 'Kingdom' tells the story of Suri, played by Vijay Deverakonda, a police constable turned spy who is sent on a covert mission to Sri Lanka. Alongside national duty, Suri is also on a personal quest to find his long-lost brother, Siva, played by Satyadev. The movie stars Vijay alongside Satyadev, Venkatesh, and Bhagyashri Borse. The film is currently competing with Pawan Kalyan's 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu', which was released the week before.

Centre for Hindu Studies to begin at Doon Univ in Aug
Dehradun: The 'Centre for Hindu Studies' will start operations at Doon University this month, officials said on Friday. The centre aims to deepen understanding of Indian knowledge traditions among youth through multidisciplinary study, research, and training in subjects such as philosophy, history, literature, sociology, art, and architecture. State education minister Dhan Singh Rawat urged officials to expedite formalities during a recent review meeting at the university. "The centre will serve as an important platform for preserving, analysing, and disseminating Indian spiritual and philosophical traditions. It will encourage understanding of Hindu traditions, texts, and philosophy and will promote Indian research methodologies for teaching and research," he said. The centre will offer a four-year undergraduate course covering metaphysics, discourse on religion and duty, debate traditions, Ramayana, Mahabharata, leadership and organisational behaviour. Postgraduate studies will focus on Hindu philosophy, society, literature, religion, and leadership skills. However, 17 other universities, including Delhi University and JNU, offer similar courses, said a senior faculty member at the centre. Prof HC Purohit, dean of the school of management and students' welfare, has been appointed coordinator of the centre. He said that admissions are open until Aug 8, after which classes will begin. "The course framework was finalised in June. The MA course has 20 seats, and a guest lecturer roster has already been prepared," he said. During the meeting, the minister also reviewed the progress of Dr Nityanand Himalayan Research and Study Centre and the MSc Urban Development Management program. He instructed departmental officials and university administration to make the research centre more student-friendly and to develop the university as a centre for excellence.
