TTD gearing up for annual Brahmotsavams from September 24 to October 2
Chairing a high-level review meeting with the heads of various departments, TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary on Thursday urged the officials to prepare a detailed roadmap and complete the arrangements in strict adherence to the time schedule.
'Garuda Vahanam' on September 28
The Brahmotsavams will commence with 'Ankurarpanam' on September 23, followed by 'Dwajarohanam' (flag hoisting) on September 24. Key events include 'Garuda Vahanam' on September 28, 'Rathotsavam' on October 1, and 'Chakrasnanam' on October 2. The daily vahana sevas will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. throughout the festival period. Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, the prelude festival, will be organised on September 16.
Except for those dignitaries arriving in person for darshan, the TTD decided to cancel VIP darshans during the festival period. Similarly, certain privileged darshan formats like those extended for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, parents with infants, NRIs, and donors also will remain suspended during the period.
Personnel of the Vigilance and Police departments were instructed to implement a robust security plan, including streamlined traffic management, roadmaps, and parking arrangements. Priority would be attached to the queue line management, distribution of 'anna prasadam' (free meal), and maintenance of hygiene along the mada streets.
The aesthetic decorations, including electric illuminations, floral and fruit displays, would be organised to enhance the devotional ambiance. The TTD also plans to invite young volunteers to serve as Srivari Sevaks, so as to assist in delivering quality services to the pilgrims.
Curbs on two-wheelers
The two-wheeler movement on Tirumala ghat roads would be prohibited from 9 p.m. on September 27 to 6 a.m. on September 29. The TTD also instructed the officials to stock adequate quantities of laddus to meet the demand during the Brahmotsavams.

The streets of Lal Darwaza in Hyderabad came alive with vibrant colours and devotional chants on Sunday as thousands of devotees thronged the Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Temple and Akkanna Madanna Temple to mark Bonalu festival. Celebrated on the third Sunday of Ashada masam, the annual event saw an overwhelming turnout of worshippers offering bonam to goddess Mahankali. Women, adorned in traditional attire and jewellery, carried bonams, decorated pots filled with cooked rice, milk and jaggery on their heads an offering symbolising gratitude and a prayer for protection from misfortune and disease. Alongside bonams, bangles and sarees were also presented to the deity. The festive spirit extended across the lanes of Lal Darwaza, Hari Bowli, Sultan Shahi and neighbouring areas of the Old City. Temple committees had made extensive arrangements to manage the influx of devotees and ensure a seamless darshan. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Ponnam Prabhakar visited the Simhavahini Mahankali Temple, where they presented pattu vastralu (silk robes) to the deity. Addressing the gathering, the Deputy CM announced that the Telangana government has allocated ₹1,290 crore for the development and renovation of temples across the State. 'We are committed to enhancing the infrastructure and spiritual ambience of the Simhavahini Mahankali Temple and the surrounding area. The Bonalu festivities, which began on June 26, have so far been peaceful, thanks to the dedication of officials across departments,' he said. Several other dignitaries also offered prayers to the goddess, including Adluri Laxman Kumar, Vakati Narayana Reddy, MPs Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Anil Kumar Yadav, Legislative Council Vice Chairman Banda Prakash, MLC K. Kavitha, Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender, Finance Commission Chairman Siricilla Rajaiah, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, TTD chairman B.R. Naidu, former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, Endowments Commissioner S. Venkat Rao, and Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari. The Hyderabad Police made heavy security personnel and implemented strict traffic diversions in the Old City and other Bonalu hubs to ensure public safety and a smooth conduct of the festivities. With even larger crowds expected for the Simha Vaahini Sri Mahankali procession on Monday, several routes in the Old City will witness a shutdown of vehicular movement. In view of the celebrations, the State government has declared a public holiday on Monday for all educational institutions and government offices in Hyderabad.

CM Naidu announces 300-acre Circular Economy Industrial Park near Tirupati
TIRUPATI: In a significant move toward sustainable development, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the establishment of a 300-acre Circular Economy Industrial Park at Thukivakam near Tirupati. The announcement was made during his address at the 'Swarnandhra-Swachhandhra' programme, reflecting the State's strong push for environmental cleanliness and resource efficiency. Highlighting the importance of a circular economy, Naidu urged citizens to adopt this change at their homes by producing compost from kitchen waste. Citing global models like Singapore, where water is extensively recycled, he laid out plans to convert wet waste into biogas and compost, and dry waste into plastic granules. Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the TTD Kapileswara Swamy temple in Kapilatheertham for the State's prosperity and inspected the integrated waste processing centre at Thukivakam. Addressing youth, he called them the 'torchbearers of the future,' urging them to lead with innovation and uphold the intellectual legacy of the Telugu people. Naidu also stressed the significance of the 'Swachhandhra' programme, conducted on the third Saturday of every month, aimed at statewide cleanliness. He encouraged students to keep their surroundings clean and emphasised that homes and public spaces should be maintained with the sanctity of temples. He also promoted tree plantations to create greener, healthier communities.

Tirumala: Renovation work of Swamy Pushkarini from July 20 onwards
States » South Tirumala, July 19 (UNI) The sacred Swami Pushkarini, located adjacent to the Tirumala Srivari Temple, will undergo renovation repair works from July 20 to August 19. As per tradition, these annual renovation works are taken up in view of the upcoming Salakatla Brahmotsavams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy which is scheduled to commence from September 24 onwards. In this context, the TTD Water Works Department has initiated steps to complete the renovation well in advance. Hence, there will be no Pushkarini Harathi during this one-month period and the devotees will also be allowed to enter Swamy Pushkarini.
