Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Umno Chairman Datuk Bung Moktar Radin said Barisan Nasional (BN) has not decided on the number of seats it will contest in the coming 17th State Election. 'If possible, we will contest all seats that we can win. If we can win 40 seats, then I want BN to contest 40 seats,' he said. Regarding potential discussions with GRS, he said 'any negotiations or discussions with GRS, let us discuss directly because I do not want intermediaries – there is no need for that. We only need clean hearts and souls.' The Lamag Assemblyman also said BN has yet to hold direct discussions or one-on-one negotiations with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) regarding potential electoral cooperation. Speaking to reporters after attending the Madani Rural Leadership Empowerment Convention at the Sabah International Convention Centre on Tuesday, the Kinabatangan MP said Sabah BN remains committed to working only with parties that demonstrate genuine sincerity and transparency. 'I will only seek cooperation with parties that show transparency, sincerity and do not deceive. If a party likes to cheat, there can be no cooperation.'
Advertisement He said BN's stance on sincerity means that once agreements are reached, they must be honoured without fail. 'Sincerity means when we agree on something, we will not renege on it. Words must be kept, promises must be fulfilled - that is the condition. I dislike leaders who shed crocodile tears,' he said. While not ruling out cooperation with any party for the state election, Bung insisted that such parties must demonstrate genuine change and sincerity. "To repel the massive attack, all available means of the defence forces that can operate on enemy air assets were deployed," the military said. The pilot of the Ukrainian F-16 jet did everything he could and flew the jet away from a settlement but did not have time to eject, the Ukrainian Air Force said. "The pilot used all of his onboard weapons and shot down seven air targets. While shooting down the last one, his aircraft was damaged and began to lose altitude," the Air Force said on the Telegram messenger. The military said Russia had launched 477 drones and 60 missiles of various types to Ukraine overnight while Ukrainian forces destroyed 211 drones and 38 missiles. It said 225 drones were lost - in reference to the Ukrainian military using electronic warfare to redirect them - or they were drone simulators that did not carry warheads. It said air strikes were recorded in six locations. INFRASTRUCTURE, HOMES Six people, including one child, were injured in the central Cherkasy region, the governor Ihor Taburets said on the Telegram messenger. Three multi-storey buildings and a college were damaged in the attack, he said. Industrial facilities were hit in the southern Ukrainian Mykolaiv and central Dnipropetrovsk regions, officials say. Local authorities published photos of multi-storey houses with charred walls and broken windows and rescuers evacuating residents. The governor of the Lviv region in the west of the country said the attack targeted critical infrastructure. However, he did not report on the aftermath. Speaking at the Gawai Day celebration in the village yesterday, the Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah President stressed that the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government, led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, had delivered on a 50-year wait within just three months. 'This isn't an empty promise. After 50 years, the villagers finally received legal land approval. This is a legacy they can pass on for generations,' Liew said. He urged villagers to support the government in the coming polls and dismissed claims that the land approval was an election ploy. 'The land now belongs to the people of Kampung Iban, permanently.
