New York Giants legend Eli Manning finishes 5th in inaugural Fanatics Games
This time, New York Giants legend Eli Manning didn't get the better of Tom Brady.
At the Fanatics Fest in New York City this week, Brady topped a 100-person list in the inaugural Fanatics Games. Manning? He finished fifth.
From ESPN:
Brady finished atop the 100-person leaderboard with 399.1 points, taking home the $1 million prize. Brady, the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneersquarterback who is currently a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and an NFL broadcaster for Fox Sports, said he will give $5,000 to each of the 50 fans who competed in the event and donate the rest to charity.
UFC fighter Justin Gaethje finished second with 345.5 points to win a Ferrari 812 GTS.
Six fans were among the top 10 finishers. LA Clippers star James Harden (fourth) and retired New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning (fifth) were the only other athletes to finish in the top 10.

ESPN ranks Broncos' under age 25 players last in the NFL
ESPN's Aaron Schatz recently ranked all 32 NFL teams based on their players under 25 years old, and the Denver Broncos came in last in the rankings. "The Broncos don't have as much talent under the age of 25 because so many of their players aged out of consideration for this list," Schatz wrote for ESPN. The team has zero "blue-chip players" under 25, at least in Schatz's estimation. Denver's list of players under 25 years old includes All-Pro receiver/returner Marvin Mims, rookie cornerback Jahdae Barron, running back RJ Harvey, pass rusher Jonah Elliss, defensive lineman Sai'vion Jones, running back Jaleel McLaughlin, receiver Pat Bryant, running back Audric Estime and linebacker Levelle Bailey. The players that are 25 years old and therefore ineligible include star cornerback Pat Surtain, quarterback Bo Nix, pass rusher Nik Bonitto, safety Talanoa Hufanga and cornerback Riley Moss. The team's players just over 25 include guard Quinn Meinerz (26) and running back J.K. Dobbins (26). Players like Surtain, Nix, Bonitto and Meinerz aging out of eligibility apparently made the team's ranking dip as the Broncos were ranked 26th last year. Stephen A. Smith Remains Skeptical About Luka Doncic Even After Seeing Him In Great Shape During Offseason
Stephen A. Smith Remains Skeptical About Luka Doncic Even After Seeing Him In Great Shape During Offseason originally appeared on Fadeaway World. With his latest feature in Men's Health magazine, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic has drawn league-wide attention for his offseason conditioning. However, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith remains skeptical about this transformation, as he recently expressed his thoughts on "First Take". Smith looked unimpressed when asked about how worried teams should be upon seeing Doncic's new physique. He replied: "No. Not any more scared than they already are. I mean, the brother is phenomenal; he's an offensive talent, there's no doubt about this. But there's a difference between getting in shape in the offseason and staying in shape during the season. And that's something we have to monitor moving forward." Smith pointed out some doubts he had about how Doncic's transformation would impact his style of playing, particularly whether he'd become more active off the ball while also showing greater effort on defense. "It's nice to see him prioritizing his conditioning," Smith continued. "We know that's been an Achilles' heel of his. He's a terrific basketball player, a star in this league. But how it's going to translate to the basketball court is not just about how you look, but the effort that you put forth. It doesn't end in the offseason. That's where it starts." Smith's skepticism is grounded in history. Concerns over Doncic's conditioning have followed him for several seasons and were even cited as one of the reasons behind his departure from the Dallas Mavericks. It has been observed that Doncic has gotten into shape during the offseason, primarily ahead of national duty with the Slovenian men's basketball team. While his improved conditioning is a welcome sight to fans, the eventual result hasn't been promising as he returns to familiar form during the regular season. Still, this year feels different. On a new team, with a lot more fueling him, Doncic seems primed to have a revenge season. This transformation has been marked by a commitment to change. With a strict training regimen and diet plan, the Lakers star intends to be in the best shape of his career to remain dominant for years to come. Having embraced his role as the face of the Lakers' franchise, Doncic truly presents a lot of promise for the team's future. Reports suggest that the 26-year-old phenomenon is in a "win-now" mindset, which has been indicated by his involvement in the Lakers' offseason roster-building project. In the meantime, the Purple and Gold will be eager to see the superstar sign his contract extension, which is expected to be done over the weekend before returning to story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jul 30, 2025, where it first appeared.

Luka Doncic Signs $165 Million Contract Extension With Lakers Through 2028
Luka Doncic Signs $165 Million Contract Extension With Lakers Through 2028 originally appeared on Fadeaway World. The Los Angeles Lakers have officially locked in their superstar for the foreseeable future. Luka Doncic, the face of the franchise and one of the most gifted players of his generation, has agreed to a three-year, $165 million maximum contract extension that keeps him in the purple and gold through at least the 2027–28 season. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Doncic's new deal includes a player option for the 2028 offseason, at which point he would be eligible for a projected five-year, $417 million supermax contract, the richest in NBA history. The deal removes any threat of Doncic entering free agency next summer and firmly cements him as the future of the Lakers organization. Doncic himself took to X to share the news, saying: 'I just signed my extension with the Lakers. Excited to keep working to bring championships to LA and make Laker Nation proud. Grateful to the Lakers, my teammates and all the fans who've shown so much love since day one. This is just the beginning.' For the Lakers, this is more than just a signing; it's the completion of their top offseason priority. Ever since acquiring Doncic in the blockbuster trade that sent Anthony Davis to Dallas, Los Angeles has made it clear they intends to build a dynasty around him. Re-signing Doncic eliminates any speculation about his future and signals to the league that the Lakers are back in long-term contention mode. The move also underscores Luka's belief in the franchise's vision. Over the summer, Doncic has reportedly played an active role in the Lakers' aggressive offseason. He helped recruit Marcus Smart and Deandre Ayton, two key additions that bolster the roster's defensive grit and scoring punch. That leadership from a 26-year-old superstar sent a powerful message: Luka isn't just playing for the Lakers, he's building something in Los Angeles. Reports also surfaced in recent weeks suggesting that Doncic expressed his desire for LeBron James to retire a Laker, showing the depth of their bond and shared vision. With LeBron opting into the final year of his deal and Doncic committing long-term, the Lakers now have the opportunity to pursue one or two more championship runs with the most electrifying duo in basketball. There was never much doubt Luka would re-sign, but the early timing of the extension has made it clear: the Lakers are his team. He's not looking for the next superteam, nor is he chasing markets. He's planted his flag in Los Angeles and is set on creating a legacy worthy of the franchise's legendary history. The Lakers' future is no longer up in the air. With Luka Doncic locked in and actively shaping the roster around him, championship contention is no longer a dream; it's an expectation.
