The Undertaker and McCool were in Las Vegas earlier this April to celebrate her WWE Hall of Fame induction, a highlight moment that had The Phenom welcome his bride into the exclusive club. But soon after the pomp, the pair returned home to Texas—and directly into the ER.
"It's because of the heart issues you've been having weeks prior, which, by the grace of god, we found out just by — It ended up being terrifying. The day we got home from WrestleMania, the next day at 6 am, we were at the hospital for a little bit of heart surgery," McCool said, per Newsweek's Andrew Ravens. What's The Hidden Danger?
The surprising twist? The Undertaker had no clue he was in trouble.
According to Michelle McCool, the routine doctor's checkup in March revealed the Hall of Famer's asymptomatic case of chronic atrial fibrillation (AFib), a dangerous heart rhythm disorder that had gone undetected due to a complete absence of symptoms.
McCool said that the Undertaker had no idea what was wrong with his body. She wondered why he was out of breath while he was just going upstairs or playing with their dog. They never thought it was a heart-related issue. Inside WWE Icon's Emergency Hospital Stay
Things quickly went into high gear. Following their visit to the hospital, physicians discovered his heart rate was irregular and his ejection fraction, the rate at which blood is propelled out of the heart with each heartbeat, was dangerously low at 30%, according to Bleacher Report.
McCool said that it would be more like 100 percent. During their four-night stay in the hospital, the doctors had to cardiovert him to restore it to a normal rhythm."
But the effects didn't hold. "That sadly lasted, what, 24 hours. Maybe 48. After four days, we go home, two days later, you're back in AFib. Man, I was stressed," McCool added.

They were largely responsible for a June jobs report that came in hotter than expected, with the country adding 147,000 jobs — far outpacing the consensus forecast of 111,000 — and unemployment unexpectedly ticking down. Payroll additions in state and local government education, as well as private healthcare and social services, masked weakness elsewhere. Those sectors alone added about 122,000 jobs in June. White-collar job seekers are facing a struggle, as roles feel increasingly scarce and hundreds of applications lead to dead ends. "If you're not a teacher, if you're not a nurse, and you're not a doctor, you're not seeing those opportunities," Cory Stahle, an economist at the Indeed Hiring Lab, said. An industry breakdown of payrolls shows that professional and business services, a white-collar sector, shed roles from May to June. The gains in education and healthcare might be in part because schools were more hesitant to let folks go this summer, perhaps due to ongoing teacher labor shortages. "Probably what's going on here is that there were smaller-than-expected summer layoffs in the education sector, which could be about teachers or it could also be about support staff, like school bus drivers or custodial staff," Daniel Zhao, lead economist at Glassdoor, said. If that is the case, Zhao said, "we might get an equivalently sized drop in the fall when schools reopen due to a smaller-than-expected hiring." He added that the new data is likely a seasonal quirk, rather than a sustainable increase in roles. The private sector, which encompasses roles outside government employment, added 74,000 jobs in June, missing the expected 105,000. Within that, employment in the healthcare and social assistance sector increased by 58,600. Stahle said that with healthcare, social assistance, and state and local government making up much of the job growth in June, "that's not necessarily reflective of a robust labor market that's benefiting everybody." For workers who already have the qualifications for teaching and healthcare, which often require degrees or specialized training, June's numbers may be a good sign. But for everyone else, the job market is still looking murky. "If you're already in the labor market, you're in pretty good shape," Stahle said. "But if you're out of it and you're looking for work, things are going to feel a lot different right now."

Oklahoma doctor accused of killing young daughter and faking a drowning at Florida rental home
An Oklahoma medical doctor is accused of traveling to South Florida and staging the death of her 4-year-old daughter to make it appear the child drowned in the swimming pool at their rented vacation home in the middle of the night, detectives say. Dr. Neha Gupta, a 36-year-old pediatrician, was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail in Oklahoma City on Tuesday. She is accused of first-degree murder in Miami-Dade County, an arrest warrant states. Gupta 'attempted to conceal the killing of the deceased victim by staging an accidental drowning within the swimming pool of a rental property,' a Miami-Dade sheriff's homicide detective wrote in an affidavit obtained by The Associated Press. In addition to facing the murder charge in Florida, she is accused of fleeing to the Oklahoma City area where she lives to avoid prosecution in Florida, according to jail records. Gupta is jailed without bond, and Florida authorities are seeking her return to Miami to face the murder charge. The records do not list an attorney for Gupta who could be reached for comment on her behalf. Gupta told investigators that she was sleeping with her daughter Aria at the Airbnb rental home in El Portal, north of Miami, when she heard a noise around 3:20 a.m. on June 27. She noticed a sliding-glass door in the bedroom that led to the outdoor patio was open. She then found Aria under water and unresponsive in the deep end of the pool, the affidavit states. Gupta said she tried to save the girl, but told the detective that she doesn't know how to swim and was unable to get Aria out of the water. Police and firefighters arrived and performed CPR on the girl, but Aria was pronounced dead at a hospital before dawn. A doctor who performed an autopsy at the medical examiner's office did not find water in the child's lungs or stomach, and that 'based on these findings she was able to rule out drowning as being the cause of death,' the detective wrote. Dr. Tuyet Tran also advised authorities that she believes the child was dead before being placed in the pool, the detective wrote. The cause and manner of death are pending, but Tran found injuries such as bruising within the girl's cheeks. Tran's preliminary findings are that these injuries 'are consistent with asphyxiation by smothering," the affidavit states. Police have not revealed any possible motive in the case. The detective noted in the affidavit that Gupta shares custody of the child with her ex-husband, who told detectives that he and his ex-wife are involved in an ongoing custody battle over the girl. The ex-husband also told detectives that he was unaware that Gupta and the child had traveled to South Florida. Based on surveillance video and Airbnb records, investigators determined that Gupta and her daughter were the sole occupants of the rental unit, the affidavit states. Gupta practiced medicine at Oklahoma Children's Hospital, part of the University of Oklahoma's health system, according to records from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. The university's faculty directory showed that she has also been an assistant professor at the university's health sciences center. The University of Oklahoma and its health system released a statement this week saying that Gupta has been 'suspended from patient care, given notice of termination, and was no longer seeing patients at the health system as of May 30, 2025.' Gupta has also been given a 'notice of termination' by the university, the statement said.
