Flight Mode Isn't Just For Flights: 5 Everyday Uses Most People Don't Know About
Flight Mode isn't just for planes, it helps save battery, charge faster, reduce overheating, block distractions, and keep kids safe from internet access Almost everyone who uses a mobile phone is familiar with the 'Flight Mode' or 'Aeroplane Mode' feature. It is a function that temporarily disables all wireless networks on the device. Most people use it during air travel to prevent the phone's radio signals from interfering with the aircraft's navigation system. However, many do not realise that Flight Mode can be useful in several other everyday situations too. Here are a few other uses of Flight Mode on your phone: Best Way to Save Battery In areas with poor network coverage, your phone keeps searching for a signal, which drains the battery quickly. Switching on Flight Mode stops this process and helps your phone retain power for longer. Faster Charging If you want your phone to charge more quickly, turn on Flight Mode before plugging it in. Since the device is not trying to connect to a network, charging speed can increase by 20–25%. Keeps the Phone Cool Phones tend to heat up when there is no signal, as they continue to search for connectivity. Enabling Flight Mode reduces this activity, helping the device stay cooler. Distraction-Free Mode If you need to focus while studying or working? Flight Mode silences all calls, messages, and notifications, making it the ideal tool for uninterrupted time. Can You Use the Internet in Flight Mode? Yes! Even with Flight Mode enabled, you can manually switch on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This allows you to browse the internet, connect wireless headphones, or use apps that work on Wi-Fi without enabling mobile networks. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
