Odisha CM announces Rs 10L assistance to family of communal clash victim

Bhubaneswar, June 11 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday announced Rs.10 lakh assistance to the next of kin of a youth who died following a communal clash.
The youth, identified as Santosh Parida, was seriously injured during a communal clash that broke out between two communities in Bhadrak under the Tihidi police station jurisdiction a few days ago.
He died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.
The Chief Minister expressed deep grief over the incident and said that strict action will be taken against the culprits as per the law, and justice will be provided to the family of the deceased.
While announcing the assistance, Majhi also declared that a person from the family will be given a government job.

Finally, I stopped making payments and asked them to return my investment. Soon after that, she stopped all communications. It was then I realised that it was a scam and approached the police," said the victim, who is an engineering graduate. On the complaint of the victim, city cyber police began a probe after registering a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 318 (4) for cheating and 319 (2) for cheating by personation and also under Section 66 (D) of the Information Technology Act.

New Delhi: A 47-year-old driver has been arrested for allegedly murdering the caretaker of a Chhatarpur farmhouse and then dumping his body in a septic tank, police said on Sunday. Police said they got information on July 26 that Sita Ram, 42, who worked as a domestic help and caretaker at the south Delhi farmhouse, was missing. He was reportedly alone on the property as the owner was out of town. When other staff members arrived in the morning, they found the farmhouse doors open and Sita Ram nowhere in sight. A missing person report was filed at Mehrauli police station, and a search was launched. Crime and FSL teams were called to the scene," a senior police officer said. As the inquiry progressed, police found that a driver employed at the same farmhouse, Chandra Prakash, was also nowhere to be seen. 1 2 Aizawl: South Mizoram's Lunglei district administration is all set to commence biometric enrolment of refugees from Myanmar taking shelter in the district from this week, a senior district official said on Sunday. The official said the ministry of home affairs (MHA) has been clearing all the test data entries in the Foreigners Identification Portal (FIP) for the commencement of the actual entry of biometric data. "The MHA has given instructions not to make any entry of data and also to hold everything until further orders. The MHA officials also said information and instructions would be given as to how soon the collection of data can begin," he said. The official said the Lunglei district administration is now fully prepared to go ahead before the end of July, if and when the MHA clears the test data entries in the FIP. Mizoram home secretary Vanlalmawia told TOI that Rs 38 lakh has been allocated by the state govt as initial expenses for the collection of biometric data of the refugees that is slated to begin later this month.
