Pusha T clarifies fractured relationship with Kanye West

Express Tribune24-06-2025
Pusha T has addressed the tension in his relationship with Kanye West during a recent interview on The New York Times' 'Popcast.'
The rapper clarified that his bond with West is strictly confined to their music collaboration, stating that outside of their professional work, they have little in common. 'Outside of music, we're nothing,' Pusha said, emphasizing that their connection is based on creativity, not personal values.
He went on to explain that they have never shared the same principles, morals, or mindset. "We can't be anything outside of music. Music is where we click,' he added, noting that they often disagree on various issues. Pusha also criticized what he perceives as clout-chasing behavior, suggesting that such actions are incompatible with his values. 'If you're a man … you can't move like this,' he said, highlighting what he sees as a lack of integrity in West's actions.

Pusha had previously spoken on their strained relationship in a GQ interview in June 2025, claiming that their bond was irreparable. He expressed his belief that West knew he did not view him as a man, citing weaknesses in West's character that had become evident over time.
No Malice, Pusha's brother and longtime partner, also weighed in during the interview, noting Pusha's unwavering commitment to integrity in an industry often marked by backstabbing. While Pusha remains firm in his stance, West has publicly expressed regret over the fallout. In May 2025, West posted on social media, saying, 'I miss me and Pusha's friendship.'

JID and Eminem drop lyric video for 'Animals (Pt.1)' with Eminem's Kanye West diss

JID and Eminem have teamed up once again, dropping a lyric video for their highly anticipated track "Animals." The collaboration, which showcases both rappers' sharp lyricism, is a masterclass in wordplay and clever metaphors. The black-and-white lyric video places the focus entirely on the verses, offering fans an opportunity to fully appreciate the intricate flows and references woven into the song. The video serves as a perfect complement to the track, especially for listeners who have been replaying it in an attempt to decode the various metaphors and punchlines. Notable lines from Eminem include references to 50 Cent's "piggy bank" and his bold declaration of being the 'Dave Chappelle of the rap game.' The visual format helps illuminate these wordplays, allowing viewers to follow along with ease. In addition to its technical brilliance, the track also stirs controversy, particularly with Eminem's pointed jabs at Kanye West. On "Animals (Pt. 1)," Em mocks his former collaborator, referencing West's controversial confessions about his past. Specifically, Eminem takes aim at West's troubling admissions regarding his alleged incestuous relationship with a cousin during their youth. The rapper raps: "With these magazines, I act out like Ye and his cousin," followed by explicit lines criticizing West's recent output. Kanye West has yet to respond to Eminem's remarks. Earlier this year, West revealed that he had a sexual relationship with his cousin when they were both minors, a confession that has sparked significant media attention. Despite the controversy, the track has been met with eager anticipation, as fans await further updates from both artists.

Kanye West blocked from entering Australia

Australia has cancelled US rapper Kanye West's visa over his song glorifying Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, the government said on Wednesday. The 48-year-old musician, who has legally changed his name to Ye, released Heil Hitler on May 8, the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. West — whose wife Bianca Censori is Australian — has been coming to Australia for some time because he has family in the country, Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said. "He's made a lot of offensive comments. But my officials looked at it again once he released the '' song and he no longer has a valid visa in Australia." Asked if it was sustainable to bar such a popular figure, the minister said: "I think what's not sustainable is to import hatred." Australian citizens have freedom of speech, Burke added. "But we have enough problems in this country already without deliberately importing bigotry." Kanye West's Heil Hitler song stirred public opposition last week in Slovakia when it was announced he would be playing a concert there in July. More than 3,000 people signed a petition against West's performance in the Slovak capital. The rapper - a vocal supporter of US President Donald Trump — is "repeatedly and openly adhering to symbols and ideology connected with the darkest period of modern global history", two groups behind the petition said. "Kanye West's concert in our city and our country is an insult to historic memory, a glorification of wartime violence and debasement of all victims of the Nazi regime," the petition read. In the Heil Hitler clip, dozens of Black men — wearing animal pelts and masks, and standing in a block formation — chant the title of the song, as West raps about being misunderstood and about his custody battle with ex-wife Kim Kardashian. The song ends with an extract of a speech by the Nazi dictator.

Brad Pitt's racing movie F1 gets official title approval from Formula One

Director Joseph Kosinski has revealed that Formula One gave surprising approval for the use of F1 as the official title of his upcoming Brad Pitt-led racing film. In a recent interview with GQ, Kosinski—best known for Top Gun: Maverick—shared his initial doubts that the global racing organization would allow the use of its brand directly in the movie title. 'I was actually surprised how open they were,' Kosinski said. 'I thought it would be impossible to name the movie F1.' Starring Brad Pitt as veteran driver Sonny Hayes, the film follows his return to the world of Formula One racing, guided by his old friend Ruben Cervantes. Formula One initially expressed concerns over the story's portrayal of the sport. However, once reassured that the movie's conflict was entirely character-driven and would not villainize any real-world racing teams, the organization became a full supporter of the production. The partnership between the filmmakers and Formula One allowed the use of real F1 cars and tracks, adding authenticity to the film. Kosinski likened the branding success of F1 to titles like Barbie and The LEGO Movie, which also relied on real-world intellectual property while delivering strong standalone stories. Formula One's approval of the F1 title signals their confidence in the movie's respectful and accurate portrayal of the sport. The film is set to debut with high expectations, as fans anticipate a blend of Hollywood storytelling and genuine motorsport realism.
