Superman fans are still upset over David Corenswet's flying in a new snap from the upcoming movie about the beloved DC action hero.
On seeing the picture, in which Superman looks like he's in an inspiring Amazon delivery ad, fans couldn't help but notice that David looked 'weird' in the wide-angle lens.
'The zoomed in fisheye lens look is so weird to me. I know everybody and their grandmother is obsessed with James Gunn and thinks he's some perfect filmmaker, but so much of the promotional material for this movie makes me want to not see it,' said @syaokuro on X.
'The close up shots look so weird,' said @Its_Me_Cole, while @ZibahTheCreator added: 'Why does it look AI generated than an actual studio work?'
'Probably gonna skip this one until it's free,' commented @Lbnumber34, while @adijain31 simply said: 'Looks funny af.'
'POV im waiting for you to give me my lil kiss on the forehead,' joked @Cuellar_Elissa about the hopeful facial expression on David's face.
'We need to retire this camera angle for good,' said @Rasheto.
'I know he REALLY wants this shot but man you gotta let this s**t go,' said @Jdemfoo.
'It looks terrible, unflattering and there's basically no right way to light this scene. Cutting room floor.'
Some compared the moment to similar shots of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as Black Adam and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock in movies gone by.
When the teaser trailer dropped in January fans had the same issue.
'I don't know why you would shoot a shot like this in that way. It's always gonna make a head appear bigger and give the shot a weird look – it also accentuates David Corenswet's strabismus eyes,' Reddit userDoctorBeatMaker reflected.
'I think there's something wrong with the cape too. It looks way too fake somehow,' equal-ad-2710 wrote.
'If I had to guess they've used this lens because it gives off a greater sense of speed and to be fair I definitely do get that feeling from it, even if it makes his face look a little weird because of the angle,' TheJosider defended.
'This shot looks so bad every time. why do filmmakers insist on it?' ProtectMeAtAllCosts complained.
Over on X, many were comparing the flying sequence to Henry Cavill's version when he played Superman from 2013 to 2017 in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.
'Biggest downgrade in history of DC on screen,' chriwankenobi posted.
'The real issue isn't just the face it's the way he's flying the arms by his side just makes the flying look uncomfortable it makes David look ill at ease superman should look at ease when he's flying the flying should be graceful,' moviestvmad echoed.
'Seriously, what is up with these weird face-on lens distortion flying shots focusing only on the character's face lately? Black Adam, Adam Warlock, and now Superman.
'There are so many cooler ways to visualize flying; just look at anything in Man of Steel. These just look goofy,' @ColtonC_20 argued.
For those worried about the use of computer graphics, however, the CEO of DC Studios and filmmaker James Gunn shut down speculation on Threads.
'Looks dope!! Great camera angle of Superman flying!! Except there's something with his face that looks a little off. I know there's plenty of time to refine the CG,' @blutattu commented.
James replied: 'There is absolutely zero CG in his face. People's faces can look different when you put a wide angle lens up close. The background plate in Svalbard [a filming location in the Norwegian archipelago] is 100% real as is David.'
For the most part, there is plenty of excitement for this new take on the age-old superhero, which also stars Rachel Brosnahan as heroine Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as villain Lex Luthor.
'Lives will be changed. I can't wait for this!' @silverscreen_re wrote.
'This movie is gonna be so f**king good…I actually can't wait,' @thecollectorn shared.
'Keep getting more and more hyped for this,' @theslyfox13 wrote.
In a recent interview with Gizmodo, James reflected that the new movie was about the 'basic kindness of human beings' and even offered a rebuttal to the more toxic side of the internet.
He continued: 'When I watch the trailer and the movie, we do have a sort of battered vision of Superman at the beginning. I think that is our country.
'I believe in the goodness of human beings. And I believe that most people in this country, despite their ideological beliefs [or] their politics, are doing their best to get by and trying to be good people, despite what it may seem like to the other side and what that other side might be.
'I think this movie is about that. It's about the basic kindness of human beings. And that it can be seen as uncool, and it can be seen as under siege when some of the darker voices are some of the louder voices.
'That's what happens when you let the internet seem like it's the world—when it's not the world. The world is us.' More Trending
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old actor has previously opened up about the side-effects of bulking for the role.
'I wasn't 238 (pounds) when we started shooting. I was 238 at my max,' he told the Manly Things (Soft Of) podcast last year, as a result he 'didn't fit into any of [his] pants.'
Superman arrives in cinemas on July 11, 2025.

Orlando Bloom embraces bachelor lifestyle in pyjamas for Jeff Bezos wedding

Orlando Bloom appeared to have put his recent split with Katy Perry behind him as he donned an eye-catching outfit when attending the wedding of Amazon boss Jeff Bezos Orlando Bloom appeared care-free as he jetted off to Venice to enjoy the wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez. But it was only a few days ago that it was confirmed the 48-year old actor had split with Katy Perry following their nine year relationship. The father of one was pictured in a black and white polka-dot matching pyjama set as he casually lounged back on a speed boat that was taking him along the Venice canal. ‌ With the top unbuttoned, Orlando completed his look with a black vest top teamed with jewellery around his neck. ‌ Earlier that day, the actor famed for his role in Pirates of the Caribbean, was seen taking a leisurely stroll with Tom Brady and actress Sydney Sweeney. The day before Orlando attended the nuptials of Jeff and Lauren on his own as Katy fulfilled her tour commitments. And according to US Weekly, a source close to the pair, who share a daughter together, said the couple split amicably. The source told the publication: "Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life." The source continued that the end of their nine year relationship had been a long time coming as the pair were virtually living separate lives since the singer has been on tour. ‌ The insider explained their relationship had been "tense for months" and they've been "living apart since Katy has been on tour." The couple first started dating back in 2016 while at the Golden Globes but a year later they split. At the time a joint statement was released that read: "Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time." ‌ But Katy's tweet was far more direct as she wrote at the same time: "HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 201? U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one's a victim or a villain, get a life y'all!" By 2018, the couple had reconciled and Orlando popped the question with a diamond a ruby engagement ring. The pair decided to share the news with fans by posting a zoomed in picture of themselves with the ring firmly in shot.

Jeff Bezos seals 72-hour £40m Venice wedding celebrations with a kiss from bride

Amazon retail giant Jeff Bezos sent the world into a spin as the good and the great of Hollywood and the music industry attended his hugely anticipated wedding celebration Their wedding has been the talk of the town for months as fans eagerly awaited the lavish ceremony of Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez. And the couple did not fail to disappoint. The couple took three days out of their busy schedule to celebrate their wedding, which is believed to have cost close to £40million. ‌ The last day of their wedding party, fans were greeted by Lauren, who now goes by the name of Mrs Bezos, in a flattering pink dress which was embellished with jewels. Both Lauren and Jeff were seen waving to the crowd that gathered outside their Aman Venice Hotel as they stepped into a boat to take them to a secret location to continue their party, surrounded by the elite of Hollywood. ‌ With her hair gently draped around her shoulders, Lauren looked the picture of happiness as she stood close to her new husband. Meanwhile, Jeff was seen dressed in all black. The businessman, 61, who is the third richest man in the world with an estimated worth of £177billion. was pictured in a black shirt teamed with a matching suit. He completed his look with a pair of sunglasses as they made their way along the Venice canal. The happy couple shared a kiss which sent fans wild, sealing their three day nuptials. And their guests also left fans in awe as the elite of Hollywood and the music industry gathered together for three days to witness the wedding of Lauren and Jeff. ‌ Guests included Oprah Winfrey, who looked stunning in a burnt orange outfit that came complete with feathered sleeves. With a fan in hand to stave off the Venice heat, the TV star who is also believed to be a billionaire, waved to fans as she jumped into the awaiting water taxi to take her to the party venue. Other guests included Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kim and Khloe Kardashian and Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, who were also pictured making their way to the old shipyard, the Arsenale. ‌ Kim was seen dressed to impress in a shimmering black fitted dress that showed off all her curves, while Khloe cut a more demure appearance in a flattering pink outfit. According to reports, the invited guests amounted to 200 people and Sir Elton John and Lady Gaga were among the performers of the night. ‌ And while the happy couple and their guests enjoyed the celebrations which went without a hitch, it seems not everybody was pleased that the retail giant had booked out the entire Italian city. An estimated 700 demonstrators gathered together at Santa Lucia train station armed with banners that read "If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax." The demonstration is believed to have been organised by the No Space For Bezos group. A few members of the group were seen laden with Amazon boxes that had the words "ordered, shipped, delivered, rejected" written on them. But this did not seem to change the happy course of the couple as they continued to enjoy their day despite the interruptions. This is reportedly the second marriage for both Jeff and Lauren and between them, they have seven children.

£30 digital camera with 'sharp detail & colours' perfect for capturing top TRNSMT moments

A digital camera will allow you to snap all your favourite festival moments without wasting your phone's battery life. With Glastonbury underway and plenty of festivals just around the corner, many of us will be wanting to take a few snaps of our favourite artists and moments with pals throughout the event. While a smartphone can be handy in these moments, sometimes the picture quality won't be the best - especially from a distance. On top of this, the fear of your smartphone dying can stop some people from capturing memories that they can look back fondly on. And while many people may be primed with a portable charger to keep their phone topped up throughout the day, another solution for this dilemma is to buy a digital camera. While small in size, so they can easily fit into a bag or pocket, these cameras can provide users with incredible photos with vibrant colours and sharp details, making them a perfect purchase for any snap-happy music fans heading to TRNSMT next month. Ahead of its Prime Day event, Amazon has slashed the price of the VAHOIALD Digital Camera down from £40 to £29.99 in a limited time deal. Available in four colours, shoppers can choose between black, green, pink and purple. However, shoppers should note this camera does not come with an SD card. With a full HD 1080p resolution and 44 megapixels, this budget camera will be able to capture videos and photos in HD quality. On top of this, with a powerful CMOS processor and image stabilization, users will always be able to capture important moments in a clear and lifelike quality. And TRNSMT revellers won't need to worry about standing at the back of a crowd, as the camera boasts a 16X digital zoom so users will feel like they are on stage with their favourite artist. The camera also comes with a flashlight to capture moments in the dark. In order to access your favourite photos and post them on social media after the celebrations are over, all shoppers need to do is connect the camera to their laptop or PC with a USB cable and transfer the photos over. Another popular device on Amazon is the CAMKORY Digital Camera. Normally retailing for £49.99, shoppers can now buy it for £36.79. Along with a 16X digital zoom, this camera comes with anti-shake technology so users can get the perfect shot every time. Alternatively, Argos is selling the AGFA 24MP 8x Zoom Compact Digital Camera for £54.99. Available in black, white or pink, this camera comes with a smiley face capture, self timer and red eye reduction to create a more natural looking photo. Back to Amazon's budget digital camera, shoppers have awarded the device a 4.6 star rating, with over 500 people buying the camera in the last 30 days. Many left reviews expressing how the camera 'exceeded their expectations' and how easy it was to use. One happy shopper said: "I recently purchased this digital camera, and it came at the right time and I used it at a cousin's civil wedding ceremony. It is super beautiful and exceeded all my expectations. The image quality is outstanding, with sharp detail and vibrant colors even in low-light conditions." With another five-star reviewer adding: "If you're looking for a reliable digital camera that delivers great battery life, excellent picture quality, and fast autofocus, this model is a solid choice. Whether you're capturing landscapes, portraits, or action shots, it performs well across different conditions." However, one shopper grumbled: "Doesn't come with memory card. Also needs charged up a bit before using." Another shopper also said: "Perfect camera just didn't come with SD card like said so couldn't use it, now have to waste money on another SD card when it should've come with the camera." Despite this, a top reviewer praised: "Definitely worth buying, quality is amazing, all of my photos came out very clear and it is simple to work. It is very easy to carry as it is small enough to fit into a bag or to just be hand held, as it comes with a cute donut landyard to attach to the camera and wear around your neck." While a sixth customer noted: "This compact digital camera is a pleasant surprise. It's lightweight, easy to use, and perfect for casual photography or gifting to kids and beginners. I also love the cute design and simple controls. It's a fantastic option for anyone looking to capture everyday moments without the bulk of a pro camera."
