Virgin River season 7 set for 'major format change' as Netflix makes huge shake-up
Virgin River fans will see a shift in the story Netflix has revealed that season seven of Virgin River is going to see some big changes, reports the Daily Express. The forthcoming outing, which recently wrapped filming, was mostly filmed in Vancouver, Canada with a pitstop in Mexico - a detail which is likely to raise eyebrows about what's really going on. Given the show is called Virgin River and set in the titular location, and its surrounding areas, it's going to be something of a change. The romantic drama has rarely departed from its location and it's not clear why there's been a shift, however, it could be that newlyweds Jack Sheridan (played by Martin Henderson) and Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) are honeymooning down south of the border. But this visit to Mexico could also see some more twists and turns thrown in the show, which is known for its fair share of drama. Get Netflix free with Sky from £15 Sky Get the deal here Product Description Netflix previously teased some details about the upcoming episodes, with Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith saying: 'Season seven will find Mel and Jack taking their first steps into marriage as they start to plan for and build a life and family together. 'Meanwhile, Doc and Hope will work together to protect the clinic and the integrity of the town from outsiders.' This begs the question of who these outsiders will be and if they're coming from Mexico or somewhere closer to home. In amongst this, the new season will see Jack and Mel taking their next steps as a married couple as they hope to start a family. They were left in limbo after it looked like they could finally become parents after much heartbreak, including Mel suffering a baby loss. Despite being in the honeymoon phase as newlyweds, the pair will face obstacles as they run the farm together. Moreover, new faces will be joining the cast for season seven, including The Vampire Diaries' Sara Canning as former police officer Victoria, who was shot in the line of duty and is now serving as an investigator for the state medical board. Another new addition to Virgin River is Riverdale and Daybreak's Cody Kearsley as Clay, a rough-around-the-edges young man who's worked the rodeo circuit in the past. Clay and his younger sister grew up in foster care, but he's not seen her since they were teens and he'll be desperately trying to find her. Many of the major cast members will be reprising their roles, including Tim Matheson, Annette O'Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure. The Mexico filming news comes after Netflix announced the fate of beloved series, confirming it's been renewed for season eight, ahead of its seventh series premiere. Virgin River has become the streaming platform's longest-running, live-action scripted series, outlasting the likes of both Orange Is The New Black and Grace and Frankie. In a statement to Netflix's Tudum, Smith said: "On behalf of myself and the whole Virgin River family, we're eternally grateful to Netflix and to the fans for allowing us to continue on this journey with these beloved characters.' Season eight will comprise of another 10 episodes, so fans have plenty of twists and turns to look forward to. There's going to be a wait for season eight, given the seventh series only just finished filming and is going to be going into post-production. Sadly, season seven doesn't have a release date as yet, with Breckenridge previously posting an Instagram poll asking followers to speculate on whether the show would premiere in 2025 or not. She also shared a cryptic video in which she showed off her costume, suggesting Mel would be getting back to nursing again. Virgin River first premiered pre-pandemic back in 2019, loosely based on the novels by Robin Carr, The show has gone on to become a smash hit thanks to its sweet and gripping storylines, carving out its own storylines away from the source material.

How to watch Pokemon Presents July 2025 and what to expect from the showcase
The Pokemon Presents July 2025 showcase is just around the corner, and should provide fans with a glimpse into the future of the Pokemon franchise. Here's everything you need to know about the presentation The Pokemon franchise is set to receive a fresh jolt of excitement with the upcoming Pokemon Presents showcase, and fans are eagerly anticipating some major announcements. A new Pokemon Presents showcase is on the horizon, which comes as a relief for players who have been yearning for more content. Naturally, the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 has kept many gamers engaged, with Scarlet and Violet being among the games optimised for the Nintendo Switch 2 to ensure top-notch performance and superior visuals. This significant step has breathed new life into these games. However, aside from that, the only other offering from the Pokemon franchise currently is Pokemon Legends Z-A. There's ample scope for other titles from the franchise to join the new generation in the 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 games line-up. That's why the forthcoming Pokemon Presents showcase, due to arrive imminently, is so intriguing. We could either be treated to a mundane array of updates to the franchise's lesser-known titles or witness some game-changing revelations that pave the way for a brand-new generation of games. Whether this will be a showcase to remember remains to be seen, but we'll certainly be tuning in. So, how exactly can you watch the showcase? And what should we expect from it? Here's your guide to watching the upcoming Pokemon Presents. How to watch Pokemon Presents July 2025 The Pokemon Presents July 2025 showcase is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22 at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST. The event can be viewed on the Pokemon YouTube channel, and we'll embed the YouTube link in this article once it's available. Nintendo has yet to disclose the duration of this showcase, but based on previous presentations in this category, which typically last between 10 and 20 minutes, we anticipate a similar timeframe for this one as well. So, what's in store for us in the Pokemon Presents July 2025 showcase? Predicting exactly what the upcoming Pokemon Presents showcase will bring is tricky, especially with Pokemon Legends Z-A still in the pipeline and ample gameplay footage already circulating online. The game's release date is already set in stone, so it seems unlikely that we'll see any major revelations for this title, save perhaps for some plot twists or new Mega Evolutions – hence, an unannounced game and updates to existing live service titles seem more probable. We're likely to see fresh additions to Pokemon Cafe Mix, Unite, Sleep, GO, TCG Pocket and more. These games frequently feature new elements in Pokemon Presents showcases and invariably form the main content of each presentation. We're also keen to learn more about the second series of Pokemon Concierge, due to hit Netflix this coming September. There are many uncertainties here, but regardless, we can anticipate some thrilling news for Pokemon enthusiasts. Let's hope for some major reveals, such as the anticipated new generation, although it's incredibly difficult to guarantee something like that. Keep your hopes up, and we might just get lucky.

Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa breaks silence on exit and Eurovision controversy
Ncuti Gatwa has opened up on his decision to quit Doctor Who after two years and two series, as he also opened up on his decision not to represent the UK at Eurovision. Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa revealed the real reason for his exit from the long-running BBC series. He admitted it was because "I'm getting old and my body was tired". The 32-year-old Scots actor, who shot to fame as Eric Effiong in Netflix's Sex Education, embodied the role of the famous time lord across two series following his debut in a 60th anniversary special alongside the 10th and 14th versions of the Doctor, David Tennant. During his farewell episode as the 15th Doctor back in May earlier this year, he appeared to be replaced by former Doctor Who companion Billie Piper when his character underwent regeneration, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. Speaking to the BBC 's Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg programme, Ncuti explained: "I'm getting old, and my body was tired... and I've now just started doing some ballet, so I'm making really great decisions. "It's the most amazing job in the world, a job that any actor would dream of and – because it's so good – it's strenuous. It takes a lot out of you, physically, emotionally, mentally, and so it was time." When questioned about a potential return to the programme, he playfully hinted: "Never say never," meaning fans could see him grace the small screen in the role in the future. Ncuti took on the Doctor role after Tennant's Time Lord underwent bi-generation in 2023, following his character's return to the series as the 14th Doctor. Elsewhere, he had been tipped to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in May but withdrew, with rumours suggesting the move was linked to controversy over Israel's involvement in the competition. "It all panned out very interestingly. I pulled out of it a long time before it was announced," he revealed. "And it was announced when it was announced, I don't know why, but I was just very busy. "Just had a lot of work schedules, a lot of press around The Roses, around Doctor (Who)." When quizzed about the rumours regarding his exit, Ncuti, who didn't tune in to this year's contest, admitted: "I was just very busy." The actor graced the Sunday morning news programme to discuss the West End debut of Born With Teeth, an imaginative play that explores the dynamic between competing dramatists Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare. Taking on the role of Marlowe alongside his Sex Education co-star Edward Bluemel as Shakespeare, he will feature in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production at London's Wyndham's Theatre starting later this year in August. "It's a really great story between these two huge literary icons, and it's very exciting to imagine what could have happened in a room together," Ncuti remarked.
