James Gunn's latest venture, Superman, premiered in theatres on Friday, July 11. The film in the revamped DC universe introduced David Corenswet as Clark Kent, the new Man of Steel. The new action drama follows the superhero, who has been actively watching over Metropolis for three years, while also juggling his life as a reporter. He goes up against the classic nemesis, Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, also crossing paths with other DC superheroes like Guy Gardner (Green Lantern), Hawkgirl, Mister Terrific, and Metamorpho.

Superman's Post-Credit Scenes
Towards the end of the movie, Superman has just defeated his arch-nemesis Lex. That's when Supergirl is introduced in the storyline. Played by Milly Alcock, Supergirl suddenly appears in the Fortress of Solitude, crashing in with her usual energy. She unveils the real identity of Superman's loyal pet Krypto, revealing that the super-powered dog actually belongs to her, and Clark was just dog-sitting while she partied on other alien planets. Her entry into the film was a teaser for Supergirl's upcoming solo movie.
After the main credits roll a bit, viewers get a mid-credit scene, where Superman and Krypto are sitting together at an otherworldly place, observing Earth. As there was no major twist or action here, the peaceful moment was added mid-scene.
The post-credit scene, however, did not reveal any new villain or give a hint at what's next for Superman. Instead, it was more of a comedy scene. In it, we see Superman and Mister Terrific, played by Edi Gathegi, looking at a building damaged by Lex. It was rebuilt by Mister Terrific. As the scene progressed, Superman tells him that the rebuilding looked a bit 'off," which left Mister Terrific annoyed. The two engage in a fun banter before Mister Terrific walks away from the frame. Reflecting on his actions, Superman then mutters that he can be a 'jerk" sometimes.

Box Office: Superman scores a decent opening weekend in India; James Gunn directorial collects Rs 24 crore
The James Gunn-directed Superman has scored decent results in its opening weekend in India, as the David Corenswet starrer has collected Rs 24.50 crore (GBOC: Rs 30 crore) in 3 days. The superhero saga opened at Rs 6.75 crore on Friday, followed by a jump to Rs 9.00 crore on Saturday, and a nominal dip to Rs 8.75 crore on Sunday. The film has done its best business in the urban centres, but unfortunately, the mass belts didn't come on board over the weekend. The national chains have contributed about 60 percent to the total business, and ideally, a superhero film on a cult character like Superman should have had this ratio around the 55 percent mark. Superman has appreciation, but it's nowhere close to the global reception in India, as the weekend trend, especially on Sunday, was not as promising. The David Corenswet starrer will be hoping for a good hold in collections on Monday, and then look to show strong trend in the second weekend, to reach a successful number in the long run. The business of Superman is also impacted due to the cluttered release window, with competition from across industries. The biggest competitor for Superman came in the form of Jurassic World: Rebirth in India, as the dinosaur saga hit it out of the park with excellent jumps on Saturday and Sunday. Superman will be looking at first week business in the vicinity of Rs 35 crore, and then aim to get close to the half century mark by the end of second weekend.
