Jennifer Aniston to star in 'I'm Glad My Mom Died' show based on Jennette McCurdy's memoir
The "Morning Show" star will continue her relationship with Apple TV+ on a new 10-episode show based on the "iCarly" actress' No. 1 New York Times bestselling memoir.
"The dramedy will center on the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kids show and her narcissistic mother who relishes in her identity as 'a starlet's mother,' Apple says in its announcement. (Aniston, 56, will play the mom).
McCurdy's memoir, published by Simon & Schuster in August 2022, is one of the buzziest celebrity books in recent memory, with its eye-catching title and earnest reflections on child stardom.

McCurdy costarred on "iCarly," the former Nickelodeon hit, with Miranda Cosgrove.
The book used dark humor to explore the traumas of early fame in an industry she never wanted to join. It spent over 80 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Aniston will star opposite Reese Witherspoon on season 4 of Apple TV+ drama "The Morning Show," following the rollercoaster lives of network TV news anchors, which returns Sept. 17.

NewsNation now basic cable's fastest-growing channel
Just months after marking its 4-year anniversary, viewers have made NewsNation the fastest-growing channel among basic cable networks, according to Nielsen, which tracks ratings across the television industry. According to Nielsen, NewsNation grew nearly 50 percent among total day viewers and 67 percent among adults aged 25-54, ranking #1 among all 112 ad-supported cable networks in year-over-year growth. The milestone comes just one year after expanding its news programming to 24/7. The NewsNation app (available for download on Apple and Android devices) is also rapidly growing, with a 230% increase in visits in the past year. Sean 'Diddy' Combs Acquitted Of Sex Trafficking But Guilty Of Transportation For Prostitution
Almost two months and 34 witnesses later, and the jury in the trial of Sean 'Diddy' Combs has reached a verdict: the musician was acquitted on all charges but the jury returned a guilty verdict on two counts, both of transportation to engage in prostitution relating to Cassie Ventura and an anonymous victim known only as 'Jane'. Per the BBC, the jury deliberated for 13 hours over three days to come to a unanimous decision on the charges against Combs. The trial has been running in New York since May. Much of that court time focused on the prosecution's case. While the verdict isn't a full acquittal, per several outlets, Combs' relief as the charges were read out was palpable. 'Combs just left the courtroom, and before he did, he got on his knees, put his face into his chair and appeared to be praying. He was shaking,' wrote the BBC. 'He got up, looked toward his family, and started clapping loudly as his family and supporters joined in, cheering in the overflow room too.' Per the New York Times, before the verdict was read, Combs walked into the courtroom and mouthed 'We got this' to his family. He was reading a printout of Psalm 11. Combs faces a maximum 10-year prison sentence on each of the two prostitution counts, which Judge Arun Subramanian will determine the sentencing of at a later date. The acquittals on the sex trafficking counts mean he will avoid a 15-year mandatory minimum sentence. He could have faced life in prison if he were convicted on sex trafficking or racketeering conspiracy. The 12-person jury was comprised of eight men and four women, ranging in age from 30 to 74. But you may still want to keep your Wordle streak going, all the same. For some help with that, here's our daily Wordle guide with some hints and the answer for Wednesday's puzzle (#1,474). It may be that you're a Wordle newcomer and you're not completely sure how to play the game. We're here to help with that too. Wordle is a deceptively simple daily word game that first emerged in 2021. There is one five-letter word to deduce every day by process of elimination. The daily word is the same for everyone. Wordle blew up in popularity in late 2021 after creator Josh Wardle made it easy for players to share an emoji-based grid with their friends and followers that detailed how they fared each day. The game's success spurred dozens of clones across a swathe of categories and formats. The New York Times purchased Wordle in early 2022 for an undisclosed sum. The publication said that players collectively played Wordle 5.3 billion times in 2024. So, it's little surprise that Wordle is one of the best online games and puzzles you can play daily. To start playing Wordle, you simply need to enter one five-letter word. The game will tell you how close you are to that day's secret word by highlighting letters that are in the correct position in green. Letters that appear in the word but aren't in the right spot will be highlighted in yellow. If you guess any letters that are not in the secret word, the game will gray those out on the virtual keyboard. However, you can still use those letters in subsequent guesses. You'll only have six guesses to find each day's word, though you still can use grayed-out letters to help narrow things down.
