ITV showing 'best ever' James Bond film starring Daniel Craig tonight
Daniel Craig stars as James Bond in the 2006 film Casino Royale which ITV will be showing tonight from 8pm
Deciding on the next film or TV show to watch can often be a daunting and time-consuming task. In this digital age, countless hours are wasted scrolling through Netflix and Amazon Prime, given the overwhelming array of choices.
Considering this, coupled with the escalating subscription costs, many opt to abandon these platforms and return to traditional terrestrial TV.
Despite Netflix's reputation for showcasing major blockbusters, it's ITV that will be broadcasting one of the finest films of recent decades - and it's absolutely free to view.
There's arguably no spy film series that surpasses James Bond in terms of action, charisma, and quintessential British humour. The franchise has become emblematic of British identity.
Regardless of whether your preferred 007 is Sean Connery, Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan, every fan was captivated by Daniel Craig's arrival as the films took on a more realistic, gritty, and darker tone compared to their light-hearted (and occasionally exaggerated) predecessors, reports the Express.
Bond enthusiasts are in for another treat as his iconic debut, Casino Royale, widely regarded as one of the best Bond films ever made, will be available to watch on ITV tonight, free of charge.
Scheduled to air from 8pm until 10.40pm, the film, based on Ian Fleming's inaugural Bond book, follows a newly-licensed 007 tasked with bankrupting a terrorist financier known as Le Chiffre during a high-stakes poker game at Casino Royale.
The ensuing narrative is a thrilling, action-filled plot culminating in a spectacular finale set in Venice and the Italian lakes.
The film was a resounding success, earning an impressive 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and ranking fourth in the franchise, the highest rating for a Bond film not featuring Sean Connery.
One satisfied viewer left a five-star Google Review, echoing the critic's sentiments: "A James Bond masterpiece... Casino Royale could hold the title of being the greatest James Bond film ever made!".
"Like the 'Vesper Martini' it invents, the film is a rich, flavourful, and perfectly measured concoction that brings together every single right ingredient into a work of greatness!".
Another viewer hailed it as the best film they had ever seen, commenting: "I've seen plenty of films of different types and genres, so this certainly isn't an 'apples-to-apples' comparison but nonetheless, Casino Royale is one of, if not, the greatest film I've seen in my life.
"Daniel Craig begins his Bond franchise with a bang and as an incredible lead, obviously, but still, what truly makes this movie the most outstanding is all the other actors in combination."

Dumped Love Island star says DMs are flooded with celebs after leaving villa
Blu Chegini, who was dumped from the Love Island villa this month, says that some famous faces have slid into his DMs since leaving and accuses ITV of not showing his true personality. Dumped Love Island star Blu Chegini has revealed that his DM's are 'popping' since leaving the famous ITV2 villa, and there's even a few famous names in there. Talking with Mirror at the TRIC Awards in central London, 26-year-old Blu admitted, "It's been a bit mad since I left the villa, the DMs have been busy though, they're popping." He added, "There's been a few famous ones, but I better not say who." Despite being in the original line-up of islanders at the beginning of this series, Blu was dumped from the island earlier this month in a brutal recoupling which left him single. Before his departure, he was getting to know girls Alima and Shakira, who remain in the villa. Since returning home, Blu's Instagram has reached 22K followers - including the likes of former Love Island winners Jess Harding and Gabby Allen and Married At First Sight star Hannah Norburn. He has also signed to Neon Managment, the same PR company who manages stars such as Joey Essex and Lucinda Stratford. While there may be plenty of single girls hoping to catch London-based Blu's eye back in the UK, the reality star still has eyes for Mallorca. Admitting the premature departure was disappointing, Blu said he'd like another crack at the famous villa: 'Get me back in there, I'd definitely go back and show my personality more, I didn't get to do that. "I did show it in the villa but it wasn't aired in the episodes, so I'd like people to get to know me and see what I'm really about. I want ITV to fly me out for Casa Amor.' Describing his type as Poppy Harrison, who was only on the show for two days as she attempted to turn Remell's head at the Sleepover villa, Blu says the bombshell is exactly who he was waiting to enter the villa for himself. However, if the Construction Project Manager doesn't make it back to Mallorca before the end of the series, he's hoping for one of his fellow OG islanders to win the series. 'I want Tommy to win, I'm not sure who he'll be partnered with, but I'd like him to win.' Blu also weighed in on the villa drama after Toni and Emily recently came to blows, admitting he thinks Emily is a 'sweet girl' and doesn't know why there's been a war of words between the pair.

Love Island first look as Harry and Helena make a bold move leaving Shakira fuming
Tonight's episode shows the fall out from shock exit and a jaw-dropping move in a game of Snog, Marry, Pie.... Love Island is back on ITV tonight, following Friday night's dramatic twist that saw Megan and Remell dumped from the villa after being voted the least favourite islanders. The episode also highlighted a growing divide among the girls in the villa, with tensions reaching boiling point as Toni and Helena clashed over Harrison. Their heated exchange left viewers concerned with the overall dynamic between the female Islanders. But the drama is far from over. In tonight's episode, tensions escalate between Helena and Toni and Harry's surprise kiss with Helena leaves Shakira feeling betrayed and clearly upset. Here is a sneak peek into tonight's episode, airing on ITV2 at 9pm... Following the shock announcement that Megan and Remell have been dumped from the Villa, emotions run high as the Islanders prepare to say their goodbyes. Tommy shares a heartfelt moment with Megan, telling her: "You've been a big part of my experience here and I'm grateful for it." Meanwhile, Alima assures Remell there are "no hard feelings," as he packs to exit the villa. In a touching exchange, Conor asks Megan: "Will you wait for me?" and she replies simply: "Yeah, I'll wait for you." After the emotional farewells, Conor reflects with Ben by the fire pit: "I hand on heart do not think that anyone is going to come through that door that I fancy more than Megan… I look at her like a girlfriend on the outside." Later, Toni and Yasmin unpack the latest results and the bottom six drama. Toni states: "Ben was in the bottom, do you think that humbles him?" Yasmin replies: "I think that should humble him, even more so because I wasn't standing there as well." Later in the evening, tensions reach new heights within Helena, Toni and Harrison's love triangle. Harrison pulls Helena for a chat to check in after her clash with Toni earlier in the day. Helena defends her actions, saying: "She's making out like I broke girl code… It would be breaking girl code if it was Meg, Megan or Emily… but they're not my mates." After being encouraged by Shakira, Harrison later speaks to Toni. Toni quickly fires at him, saying: "I was just about to go home and you thought you'd check on her, the same girl you just kissed in the Hideaway?" Harrison says: "I'm not sorry for exploring a connection because I've told you so many times that we're open," before continuing: "I'm sorry for making you upset, do you accept my apology?" Toni isn't having it, replying: "No, that's not how you apologise to people." The next day Harrison tries again, pulling Toni for a chat on the hammock. 'Can you tell me how you're feeling without a sarcastic answer please?' he asks. Toni lays it bare: 'Horrible, stupid, embarrassed…" As Harrison insists they agreed to stay open, Toni puts her foot down: "Open and disrespect are two different things… I'm not a triangle as b**h." Elsewhere in the villa, Yasmin gets a text that promises chaos. It reads: "Islanders, pucker up as it's time to show your true feelings in a game of SNOG, MARRY, PIE! #LipsDontLie #HotMessExpress" The girls are up first. Helena plants a kiss on Harry, cheekily saying: "It's been a while and I wanted to test the waters. Then Shakira also snogs Harry, boldly stating: "I fancy the pants off him." But when it's the boys' turn, things take a messy turn. After almost walking past her, Harry unexpectedly snogs Helena, leaving Shakira stunned. "There's undeniable sexual chemistry," he says before going down on one knee for Shakira. After she declines his proposal, Alima tells Harry: "I'm getting second hand embarrassment, get up." Later that evening on the terrace, Toni and Yasmin comfort a distraught Shakira, who vents her frustration: "I can handle all of them being b****es when I've got a good thing with Harry… Now everything has gone to sh**."

Oasis make last minute tour changes - but plans will should make fans happy
Noel and Liam Gallagher want the band to sound amazing and so they are still tweaking their live show Oasis are heading into 'extra time' in Cardiff's Principality stadium - by holding rehearsals this week at the venue. Some bands would only soundcheck on the day of gigs, but with this being such a huge comeback show when they have not played together for over a decade, Noel and Liam Gallagher are leaving nothing to chance. The band, which also includes new drummer Joey Waronker and guitarists Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, have lined up rehearsals this week in the rugby and football stadium to make sure they sound their best right from the start of the tour. A source close to the band told the Mirror: 'With a new line up and it being such a huge first show, the boys will do some songs inside the venue too. 'Some tours would start with a smaller show or take a week or two to get into the groove again. But there is no time for that and also Liam and Noel want every night to be massive. 'This is such a huge comeback show and they are taking it very seriously. It all points to it being an incredible comeback tour.' Liam Gallagher confirmed the band will walk on stage in Cardiff for the first night's show at 8.15pm on Friday night. He posted on X about the start time adding 'don't be late or we'll start without you and you don't want that now'. He later removed the post but the timing has been confirmed to the Mirror with support act Cast on at 6pm and Richard Ashcroft playing at 7pm. The band have also lined up DJs for anyone going into the stadium early, as the gates open at 5pm. The band are expected to play a set of around two hour for the 74,500 fans. Noel told TalkSport last week he has the weekend off but that in rehearsals last week the band were sounding 'huge'. On X, formerly twitter, Liam was asked on Friday if the roof of the stadium would be open or closed for the gigs. Liam replied: 'It'll be coming off either way.' As well as Cardiff there will also be dates in Mancheste r, London, Edinburgh and Dublin as part of the tour. New merchandise by the band made with Adidas has been a huge hit with some items selling out. Noel, 57, quit the Manchester rock group on August 28 2009, saying he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer", and the brothers had made negative comments about each other for more than a decade. That all changed with the announcement of the tour in August last year. The pair posed for several photos together confirming the band's long-awaited reunion on Tuesday, saying: "The great wait is over." In April, Live Forever by Oasis was crowned the best British song of all time in a new poll ahead of the band's highly-anticipated reunion tour this summer. The Manchester band led by Noel and Liam Gallagher had an incredible 16 tracks in the top 100 results by Radio X. As well as Live Forever, 'Don't Look Back In Anger,' 'Slide Away' and 'Champagne Supernova' also made the top 10. It was Radio X's 10 th annual Best Of British with B&Q poll. The new live shows will also feature special guests Richard Ashcroft and Cast, who are friends with the band.
