MFT: Todd Dulaney Remembers His First Stage Setback

Marcus Ingram
For Todd Dulaney, a name now synonymous with heartfelt worship and praise, the path to his celebrated music career was anything but smooth. Like so many artists, his 'first time' stepping into the spotlight was accompanied by great anticipation, only to end in a moment that could have crushed his spirit for good.
The gospel sensation spoke in detail for this week's 'My First Time' of a performance earlier in his career that would've allowed him to show the world his passion and talent. However, things didn't go as planned. Whether due to unforeseen circumstances, nerves, or challenges beyond his control, Todd was unable to take the stage. Dreams that had been nurtured for years felt like they were fading right before his eyes. For someone whose heart was set on sharing his gift through music, the disappointment was palpable and soul-shaking.

Thankfully, Todd's story didn't end there. This setback became a crucial turning point. Instead of allowing the situation to define him, he used the experience as fuel to sharpen his craft, refine his purpose, and grow stronger in his faith. That unshakable resilience, built in the midst of heartbreak, is what has made Todd Dulaney's music resonate with so many. His story is a reminder to the community that a dream deferred doesn't have to be a dream denied.
Today, Todd inspires millions not only with his songs but with the testimony of perseverance behind them. His first experience may not have unfolded the way he'd hoped, but it became the foundation of his incredible journey to becoming one of gospel music's shining stars.

Savannah Chrisley/Youtube Julie agreed with her husband of 29 years, stating that the correctional officers are 'miserable human beings.' As Todd put it, 'They are not your friends. It's us against them.' The 'Chrisley Knows Best' alum went on to describe his mindset behind bars. 9 Todd Chrisley on the 'Unlocked' podcast. Savannah Chrisley/Youtube 'I think for me, I was always free. In my head, I was still free,' he explained. 'I did not take up residence there. I was in prison. Prison was not in me.' Todd made the most out of his time in the facility, sharing with listeners that he 'made great friends.' 'I stayed in faith. I prayed. I read my Bible. I worked out,' the patriarch continued. 'I walked. And I wreaked havoc on anyone who was mistreating somebody else.' 9 Julie Chrisley and Todd Chrisley. The disgraced college admissions coach pleaded guilty in 2019 to racketeering, money laundering, conspiracy to defraud the federal government and obstruction of justice, and is serving out the rest of his 42-month sentence in Pensacola. And I meant what I said.' Singer said he wasn't scared of Todd, to which the entrepreneur replied, 'I don't need you to be afraid of me. 'You don't realize the things that you took for granted until you don't have it,' he shared. 'So your freedom, your ability to go to church, your ability to go out to eat, you know, to stay in your bed all day, those things are taken from you, so when you have them back, it's a blessing.' 9 Todd and Savannah Chrisley. Video: Dogs Can Hardly Contain Excitement When It's Time for Swimming

It's officially summer, and you know what that means? Countless splashes and tail wags in the swimming pool for your fur babies. As the temperatures rise, our pets look forward to watery adventures and soaked smiles all day long. This viral Instagram video of two Golden Retriever dogs hardly being able to contain their excitement when it's time for swimming precisely reflects that story. No words could ever express how energetic and joyful these two pooches felt when they realised it was THAT time of the day. There were no words — only a burst of happy woofs and can't-contain-it barks. An Instagram video showed how two dogs, a father-son duo named Tucker and Todd, got overly excited to hit the pool for a swimming session because 'tis the season for hours of canine bliss in the water. 'I don't even say anything,' the subtext explained their owner's thoughts as it continued, 'I just grab the towels and they know' what time of the day it is. The clip showed the Golden Retrievers waiting in the corridor while their mom grabbed some towels out of the cabinet. Interestingly, she didn't say anything, but the duo immediately understood what was about to go down. They looked at her, and she chuckled, knowing fully well that they knew. The pooches waited by the doorway, evidently growing impatient by the second, and rushed downstairs in utter excitement as soon as they realized it was time. As the video progressed, it showed a burst of barking joy, and the dogs looked undeniably delighted for their swimming time. Down the stairs, toward the backyard, and to the pool, they eagerly waited for their parents to remove the cover, and once it was halfway done, they jumped into the clear blue water without a second thought. They both quivered with joy but were mindful to politely listen to their mom's instructions and be the best boys. The concluding moments of the video captured the dogs' swimming high as they jumped into the pool, fetched their toys, and had a watery blast. Splashes in the water, countless jumps into the pool, and wet fur turned out to be the highlight of their day.
