July 15 (UPI) -- Miley Cyrus is opening up about why she isn't touring her recently released album, Something Beautiful.
The singer and former Hannah Montana actress discussed her decision on Good Morning America Tuesday.
"I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunities to tour," Cyrus said. "I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there is actually an infrastructure that supports artists."
"It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is a really important kind of pillar of stability in my life," she continued, adding that "it's really hard to keep mental wellness on tour."
Something Beautiful arrived in May, two years after Cyrus' album Endless Summer Vacation, which arrived in 2023.
Her accompanying musical film and visual album dropped June 12.
Cyrus called the project "fabulous" and "super joyful."
"I'm in ultimate kind of fulfillment with this project, the music itself, the film -- I'm just really proud of the outcome," she said.

Miley Cyrus Explains the Real Reason She Won't Go Back on Tour

THE RUNDOWN Miley Cyrus has decided not to go on tour for her new visual album, Something Beautiful, and she's sharing the personal reason why. In a Good Morning America interview that aired today, Cyrus revealed she made the choice to protect her well-being. 'I do have the physical ability, and I have the opportunities to tour,' she prefaced. 'I wish I had the desire, but I don't.' She pointed out the demands of life on the road: 'I also don't think there's actually an infrastructure that supports artists—the artists like Prince, that are not here today, that lived such a high-intensity lifestyle. You're out on the road, and it's hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is a really important pillar of stability in my life.' Not being sober, she added, can lead to people 'not only losing their life but losing their minds.' 'I do think it's really hard to keep mental wellness [on tour],' the singer continued. 'You have so many thousands of people screaming at you. You feel a lot of love, then you totally crash at the end of the show. You start thinking one person loving you is not enough. It needs to be 10,000. It needs to be 80,000.' Cyrus will still take the stage selectively. Last month, she joined Beyoncé during the Cowboy Carter Tour's Paris stop. They performed a duet of their Cowboy Carter track 'II Most Wanted' during the surprise appearance. Cyrus first spoke two years ago about her decision to stop touring during her June 2023 British Vogue cover interview. She said her 2014 Bangerz Tour was likely her last. 'Like singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn't really the thing that I love,' she said. 'There's no connection. There's no safety. It's so isolating because if you're in front of 100,000 people then you are alone.' When asked if she'd headline again, Cyrus said, 'I kind of looked at it as more of a question. And I can't. Not only 'can't,' because can't is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else's pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?'

'Madam Secretary' stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly tie the knot with close family by their side

"Madam Secretary" stars Téa Leoni and Tim Daly are married. The two actors tied the knot over the weekend in a close family event in New York, a representative for Leoni confirmed to "Good Morning America." Leoni and Daly starred in "Madam Secretary" as Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord and her husband Henry. The hit political drama series centered around the fictional secretary of state's life as she tried to balance work with family. Tim Daly Talks 'Madam Secretary,' Dating Co-Star Tea Leoni and Family "Madam Secretary" ran for 120 episodes from 2014 to 2019. The series finale aired Dec. 8, 2019. In an interview with "Popcorn With Peter Travers" in November 2016, Daly talked about acting alongside Leoni, saying the two "approach the work in a very similar way." "We both take it very seriously, we both work really hard and we both want to have a lot of fun," he said at the time, noting that one of the things that attracted them to "Madam Secretary" was the "family element." "Seeing behind the curtain into the family was really important to everybody there, especially Téa and me," he added. "So, we worked really hard on making this aspirational relationship have some truth to it. I think once we found that common ground, and worked so hard and had so much fun ... I don't think anything could get in the way of that. We're both professional actors, and I don't think we're gonna let our private stuff get in the way of what we do when we're at work." People reported in December 2014 that Leoni and Daly had been "quietly dating" since that summer. The pair made their red carpet debut together in April 2015 at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C. Leoni was previously married to David Duchovny for 17 years before they divorced in 2014. They share two children, Kyd Miller Duchovny and West Duchovny. Daly was previously married to Amy Van Nostrand from 1982 to 2010. They have two children together, Sam Daly and Emelyn Daly.
