
Ministry of Higher Education Partners with EGA to Boost Engineering Scholarships for Emiratis
The collaboration focuses on offering scholarships in mechanical and electrical engineering, along with other specialisations aligned with EGA's talent needs. Students will study at top global universities, with MoHESR covering tuition, allowances, and academic monitoring, while EGA provides practical training and post-graduation job opportunities.
Both entities will jointly select universities, vet applicants, and ensure academic programmes match UAE labour market needs. The goal is to prepare graduates for immediate entry into critical sectors driving the nation's economic diversification and growth.
Ahmad Ibrahim Alsaadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary at MoHESR, said the partnership strengthens the link between higher education and employment, helping students transition seamlessly from university to industry.
EGA CEO Abdulnasser bin Kalban highlighted the initiative's role in building future national leaders in STEM fields, reinforcing the UAE's shift toward a sustainable, knowledge-based economy.
A joint follow-up mechanism will assess graduate readiness and feed insights into ongoing improvements of the scholarship programme. The initiative is part of MoHESR's broader strategy to align education with national development priorities and support the UAE's long-term vision.

This emphasises the importance of building future capabilities and enhancing national competencies in modern fields. A generation capable of interacting with technological changes For his part, His Excellency Humaid Abdullah Balsadriya Al Khatri, Vice Chairman of Al Dhaid Club's Board of Directors, emphasised that the workshop embodies the club's commitment to preparing a generation capable of interacting with technological changes in a sporting spirit. He noted that adopting augmented reality technologies in training programs is a qualitative step that opens new horizons for Emirati youth to discover their potential in a fun and innovative way. Al Khatri explained that these initiatives come with the support of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote the concept of cognitive sports and prepare a conscious generation capable of excelling in the arenas of the future.
