Al-Quds Governorate warns of alleged "Temple" Groups' month-long program targeting Al-Aqsa
Al-Quds Governorate in occupied Palestine warned on Thursday of the dangerous and systematic escalation targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque, which has taken a more aggressive and organized form by extremist alleged "Temple" groups, with official support from the Israeli Zionist entity's government and its security forces.
In a statement, the Governorate stated that the program published by one of these alleged "Temple" groups includes systematic incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque over a full month, involving 12 rabbis and heads of Jewish religious institutes under religious and racist pretexts. This represents a dangerous escalation in the Judaization of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the alteration of its Islamic character.
It added that the gathering of rabbis violates the ruling of the "Chief Rabbinate," clearly demonstrating how extremist religious groups are even surpassing traditional Jewish religious authorities in favor of a settler agenda aimed at imposing a new reality in Al-Aqsa.
Al-Quds Governorate highlighted the gravity of the escalation, including accompanying public Jewish religious rituals in the mosque's courtyards—such as a settlers' wedding ceremony involving dancing and singing under the protection of the Israeli enemy police. This provocative and unprecedented scene reveals the deliberate intent to turn Al-Aqsa Mosque into a space for Talmudic rituals, constituting a blatant violation of the sanctity and Islamic religious and civilizational status of the site.
The Governorate warned that continued incursions and the imposition of Jewish religious rituals in Al-Aqsa Mosque could explode tensions in Al-Quds and the entire region, holding the Israeli enemy government—particularly the so-called "National Security Minister"—fully responsible for the consequences of these provocative policies that disregard all international laws and agreements on holy sites.
It emphasized that these violations would not have occurred without the explicit official support of the extremist National Security Minister, war criminal Itamar Ben-Gvir, who gave the green light for Zionist settlers to perform their rituals throughout Al-Aqsa's courtyards—not just in the eastern corner. This marks a dangerous shift in the occupier's rules and an overturning of the historical and legal status quo.
Al-Quds Governorate reaffirmed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is an exclusive right for Muslims alone, and no political, religious, or military entity has the right to infringe upon or alter this right. It stated that the ongoing violations are preparations for a broader aggression during the so-called "Temple Destruction Anniversary" in August, calling on the international community to take responsibility in preventing this.
The Governorate urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League, the United Nations, and especially UNESCO, to act urgently to halt this escalating aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque.
It saluted the steadfastness of Al-Quds's residents—men and women—who physically and consciously confront Judaization and incursion attempts, stressing that the Islamic right to Al-Aqsa is immutable and cannot be erased by time or the will of settlers.
