
37-year-old man killed in Teulon, Man., suspect arrested after chase into cornfield
Stonewall RCMP said they responded to reports of a shooting at 10:40 p.m. Sunday at a home on Seventh Avenue S.E. in Teulon, a town of about 1,200 people located about 60 kilometres north of Winnipeg in the Interlake region.
A 37-year-old man with life-threatening injuries was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead, RCMP said in a news release Monday morning.
Police were still at the home where the shooting happened when another officer, who was on patrol, found a car police believe was involved in the homicide and tried to stop it.
The car took off, and when RCMP followed, it drove into a cornfield, the news release said.
The area was contained and the 24-year-old man was arrested, RCMP said in the news release. A firearm was also found and seized.

A man died after he lost control of his vehicle in Montreal on Highway 20 on Saturday morning. At around 8:30 a.m., his car went off the road in Baie-D'Urfé as he was heading westbound, according to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Béatrice Dorsainville. 49-year-old Moncton woman dead after Berry Mills crash
A 49-year-old Moncton, N.B., woman is dead after two vehicles collided in Berry Mills, N.B., Friday morning. In a statement, RCMP said the crash happened on Berry Mills Road around 9 a.m. AT between a pickup truck and an SUV. Police believe the woman, who was driving the SUV, was travelling northbound when her vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with the pickup truck. RCMP said the woman was the only person in the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were two people in the pickup truck and they were taken to hospital with injuries that aren't considered life threatening.

Moncton woman killed in collision in Berry Mills, N.B.: RCMP
One woman has died and two others were injured following a collision near Moncton Friday. New Brunswick RCMP said the two-vehicle collision happened around 9 a.m. on Berry Mills Road in Berry Mills. Police said it is believed the driver of a northbound SUV crossed the centre line and collided with a pickup truck travelling south. The driver of the SUV, a 49-year-old Moncton woman, died at the scene as a result of her injuries. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time. Two people in the pickup truck were taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, said RCMP. Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the Moncton Fire Department, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist also attended the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
