Gaza's Awqaf Ministry: Graves exhausted across most of Strip

Gaza – SABA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Gaza announced on Wednesday evening that graves have been completely depleted across most areas of the Strip, as the Israeli aggression continues and the number of martyrs rises. The ministry stated that the tragic reality has forced families to use hospital courtyards, schools, and residential areas as emergency burial sites. In a statement, the ministry reported that since October 2023, the enemy has completely or partially destroyed over 40 cemeteries and prevented civilians from accessing many graveyards located within its military-controlled zones. This has led to the exhaustion of existing burial grounds and a severe shortage of available space. The ministry emphasized that the ongoing siege and the blockade on funeral shrouds, construction materials, and essential burial supplies have deprived martyrs of their right to a proper Islamic burial. It further noted that the enemy's forced evacuation and displacement orders toward the so-called "Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone" have reduced available burial space, resulting in the piling up of martyrs' bodies in hospitals, which are already overwhelmed by the rising death toll. The ministry appealed to Arab and Islamic nations, relief organizations, and charitable donors to join the "Dignity for Martyrs" campaign, which aims to build dignified, cost-free graves and provide essential burial supplies as an urgent humanitarian and religious priority. Since the start of Israel's aggression on Gaza in October 2023, the population has faced catastrophic and worsening humanitarian conditions. With the death toll reaching tens of thousands, the burial crisis has become one of the most unprecedented challenges for Gaza's society—especially amid the direct targeting of cemeteries, restricted access to burial sites, and the lack of essential burial materials. Head of Iran's Shura Council: Iran's Missile Power Has Rendered Iron Dome Ineffective

Tehran – SABA: Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran's Islamic Shura Council, stated that Iran's missile power has neutralized the effectiveness of the Iron Dome, emphasizing that the "Zionist enemy" will never be able to stand against truth and justice. According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, Qalibaf made these remarks during a speech at a ceremony commemorating the martyrs of the recent confrontation with the Zionists, held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Prayer Hall in Tehran on Wednesday. He stated that a new phase of resistance has begun, noting that these martyrs paved the way for the Islamic nation and Iran during the 12-day war against the "criminal Zionist entity." He declared: "This path did not stop in the past, nor will it stop today—it is the path of the future, for which we are all preparing." He added, "Let the Zionist enemy know that it will never be able to stand against the truth. We have learned this creed from the Holy Quran. They will never extinguish the light of God, nor will they prevail with their lies, slanders, war propaganda, and deceitful media outlets." Referring to the damage inflicted on the Zionist entity's military centers, infrastructure, and security facilities during the 12-day war, he said: "Look how over four decades of efforts by Iran's Islamic warriors and elites have transformed into a formidable force. The response to the Zionist entity—which boasted of its strength before the world, spoke of the Iron Dome, and claimed security for the Islamic nation and the people of Iran—came swiftly within hours." The Speaker of the Shura Council stressed that the hands of the "criminal Zionist entity" are stained with the blood of leaders, scholars, and Iran's beloved people. However, he noted, "Under the guidance and leadership of the Islamic Revolution's Leader, who entrusted this banner to other leaders in the country, you saw how this crime was met with a decisive response in a matter of hours." Qalibaf explained that from the second and third days of the 12-day war, the occupied territories were struck by missile attacks in every region. He stated: "On the first night of the war, we launched 350 drones and over 150 missiles at the Zionist entity." He further emphasized that the Zionist entity, on its own, has no foundation and would not survive even a few days in a war. "This illegitimate regime has been revived solely with the support of the U.S. and the West," he said, adding that "prominent global scholars believe the Zionist entity cannot endure without Washington's backing." He continued: "Despite this support, America attacked our country and was met with a crushing response from us, ultimately forcing them to declare a ceasefire." Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
