Jurassic World Rebirth box office collection day 4: Scarlett Johansson's sci-fi actioner crushes Kannappa in India; nears Rs 2,800 crore worldwide

Jurassic World Rebirth box office collection day 4: Following a string of mediocre films, the iconic Jurassic Park franchise has finally been rejuvenated, thanks to director Gareth Edwards' Jurassic World Rebirth, which opened to more favourable responses than its recent predecessors. Interestingly, on its first Monday in theatres, the sci-fi thriller earned significantly more than several major recent Indian releases. In fact, it even outperformed Brad Pitt's F1, despite the latter opening to considerably better reviews.
On Monday, Jurassic World Rebirth, starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey in the lead roles, recorded an India nett collection of Rs 4.1 crore, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk. With this, the Hollywood film's total domestic collection has reached Rs 43.1 crore in just four days. Although its Monday figure was 74.77 per cent lower than the Rs 16.25 crore it collected on Sunday, the movie still managed to pass the crucial first Monday test.

Notably, Jurassic World Rebirth's performance on the day was stronger than Vishnu Manchu's pan-Indian Telugu devotional film Kannappa, which featured cameo appearances by major stars like Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal. On its first Monday in theatres, Kannappa earned just Rs 2.3 crore, despite debuting at Rs 9.35 crore, almost on par with Jurassic World Rebirth's Rs 9.25 crore opening-day nett in India. Comparing other recent first-Monday performances, the Scarlett Johansson-starrer also outdid major films like F1 (Rs 3.35 crore), Maa (Rs 2.5 crore) and Metro… In Dino (Rs 2.25 crore).
During the day, Jurassic World Rebirth's English edition recorded an overall occupancy rate of 13.87 per cent. Although the morning shows began at 7.02 per cent, the figure steadily improved throughout the day, with the afternoon, evening and night screenings recording 13.03 per cent, 17.04 per cent and 18.37 per cent, respectively. According to Box Office Mojo, Jurassic World Rebirth's worldwide gross now stands at $322 million (Rs 2,765 crore), far ahead of F1's $293 million (Rs 2,515 crore).
A standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion (2022), which opened to poor reviews, Jurassic World Rebirth is the seventh instalment in the eponymous franchise created by renowned author-screenwriter Michael Crichton. The first two instalments of the film series — Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) — were directed by legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

She mentioned, "That didn't happen because of persona or personality or anything else. Astrologer baitha tha ek Ekta Kapoor ke office mein toh panditji ne kaha yeh joh ladki abhi ghum rahi hai wahan pe, isko rokiye, yeh kaun hai (An astrologer was sitting in Ekta Kapoor's office. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo So the priest said, 'Who is this girl roaming around? Unhone kahan isko agar tum rokoge, iss se kaam karoge, yeh bahut bada desh mein naam hone wali hai (So, she said, 'Why, why should we stop her?' He said, 'If you stop her, if you work with her, she is going to be a big name in the country). The minute the astrologer finished his sentence, Ekta immediately came and asked her 'What was I signing'. As per the contract, I was getting paid around Rs 1200-1300 per day." Smriti recalled the moment, mentioning that this was when Ekta Kapoor tore up her existing contract and chose to offer her a new one, paying her Rs 1,800 per day. She added, "Aur usne kaha kya sign kar rahi ho. Toh mujhe uss waqt kareeban rs 1200-1300 milen wale the uss contract mein. Aur main uss wqat naukri kar rahi thi Mc Donald's mein jhaadu pochhe ki jisme mahine ka Rs 1800 mil raha tha. Toh mere liye din ka Rs 1200 was much better than mahine ka Rs 1800. Mere paas uss waqt naukri nahi thi aisi. Agar aap Rs 1800 mahine ka kamate ho aur aap 22-23 saal ke ho aur aapko apna ghar chalana hai, aapke paas option nahi hai. " (He asked me, 'What are you signing?' I was going to receive between rupees 1200 to 1400 in the contract. At that time, I was working as a cleaner at McDonald's, earning Rs 1800 per month. So, earning Rs 1200 per day was much better for me than Rs 1800 per month. I didn't have another job then. When you're 22-23 years old, earning Rs 1800 per month and supporting a household, you don't have many options). The much-anticipated reboot of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is set to premiere from July 29 at 10:30 PM.
