Rejected proposal to merge BRS into BJP: K Kavitha
'A proposal was brought to me when I was in jail to merge the party into BJP. But I rejected it. BRS is Rama Raksha to Telangana,' Kavitha said while talking to the reporters.
On her letter to BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) being 'leaked', she said that her only demand was to learn who has leaked the letter, which was for internal communication only.
'My only demand: who leaked the letter? The letter was for internal communication only,' Kavitha said.
Taking potshots at the leaders from her own party, without naming anyone, she said that when her father KCR received notices in relation to the Kaleshwaram probe, no plan of action was set up.
'When KCR is given notices, there is no action plan. Instead of teaching me, tell me what is your action plan. Twitter tweets are not enough. Shouldn't we be on the ground?' Kavitha said.
'During the Delhi liquor policy, when I went to KCR and wanted to resign, he said that they can't face me, and that's why the case has been filed against you,' she added.
The BRS MLC further criticised people in her party, labelling them 'converts.'
'Is it okay to say there are coverts? Coverts should be controlled, and KCR should be protected,' Kavitha said, adding, 'If BRS is weak, BJP and Congress will become strong.'
Meanwhile, BJP MP Eatala Rajender said, 'The BJP is a democratic party. Any decision that is taken goes through thorough discussion across all its institutions before being finalised.'
Amid all the chaos, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Tuesday embarked on a significant overseas tour to the United Kingdom and the United States, according to the official statement.
The visit includes a mix of political, academic, and industry engagements, reflecting Telangana's growing global stature and KTR's role in shaping its modern narrative.
In the United Kingdom, KTR will participate in India Week 2025, hosted by Bridge India in London, where he will deliver the keynote address. (ANI)

Cong failed to fulfil internal quota promise for Madigas: Karjol
Mysuru: Former DCM and BJP MP Govind Karjol on Wednesday accused the Congress govt of failing to fulfil its promise of internal reservation for the Madiga community, as outlined in its election manifesto. Speaking to reporters, Karjol announced that a massive protest will be staged across all district headquarters and taluk headquarters on Aug 1 to press for the implementation of internal reservation. "The Andhra Pradesh govt implemented internal reservation back in 2005. Courts have since ruled that states must ensure internal reservation in line with evolving social needs. Even the Supreme Court has issued clear directions on this. Yet, the Karnataka govt continues to remain indifferent. This negligence has left the Madiga community with no choice but to agitate," he said. Former Union minister A Narayanaswamy said, "Siddaramaiah projects himself as a champion of the backward and oppressed. During the elections, he promised internal reservation for Madigas. But now, neither he nor his ministers are willing to even speak on the matter."

Authority to determine to GST is Centre: Minister
Mandya: District N Cheluvarayaswamy on Wednesday emphasised that the authority to determine Goods and Services Tax (GST) rests solely with the Union govt. "Imposing taxes on small traders will create unnecessary hardship. It is the Centre's responsibility to address and correct this," he said. Responding to BJP's criticism regarding the issuance of notices to traders by the Commercial Tax Department, Cheluvarayaswamy dismissed the opposition's comments. "The BJP has neither achievements from the past nor a vision for the future. Their remarks are baseless and lack humanity. The Commercial Tax Department is acting in accordance with Union govt directives," he contended. The minister also addressed accusations of biased MLA fund distribution. "Every MLA was allotted Rs 50 crore. This allocation isn't linked to the upcoming Assembly session. Even BJP MLAs received Rs 25 crore. When the BJP was in power, Congress MLAs were given nothing. At least now, everyone received some support," he stated. On BJP's allegation that the state govt is misleading the public by forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Dharmasthala case, Cheluvarayaswamy said, "The SIT was formed following demands from various organisations and activists.
