Three teens arrested after leading police on 100 mph chase in Livingston County
Three teens were arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase last week in Livingston County, Michigan.
At about 3 a.m. on June 20, deputies attempted to stop a 2015 Toyota Camry going eastbound on Interstate 96 near Mason Road in Howell Township, according to the sheriff's office. Investigators determined the vehicle was stolen from Grand Rapids days before the chase.
The sheriff's office said the driver took off, prompting a police chase through Howell and Pinckney, reaching 100 mph. The sheriff's office released dashcam video of the chase.
Deputies stopped the vehicle in Hamburg Township after using a PIT maneuver. Three people were inside the car, identified as two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old from the Grand Rapids and Kent County area.
The sheriff's office said two of the teens were on a tether at the time and had "multiple financial transaction devices that did not belong to them," according to a news release.

Teenage boy dead after crashing his watercraft on Lake Havasu, deputies say
A 17-year-old boy from California was found floating dead at Lake Havasu, the Mohave County Sheriff's Office said. The unidentified teenager was riding a personal watercraft when he was involved in a crash on June 28, according to the Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to reports of a person wearing a life jacket, floating face down in the water and found not breathing upon discovery by others on the lake. Bystanders attempted to perform CPR on the teen, but he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, according to the Sheriff's Office. Police learned the teen's family members were on the shore of the lake and lost sight of the boy while he was riding the watercraft by himself. "Evidence suggests that this was a single vessel crash," the Sheriff's Office said. It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash or what caused the boy's death, but the incident remained under investigation, according to the Sheriff's Office. Less than a month before, the Sheriff's Office dealt with a chaotic Memorial Day weekend. Two separate boat fires happened on back-to-back days, along with two boat sinkings, at Lake Havasu. A boat crashed the same day on the Colorado River near the sandbar, with multiple people injured, the Sheriff's Office said. Lake Havasu is a large reservoir formed by the Parker Dam on the Colorado River. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department was investigating the incident. Western Idaho residents urged to shelter in place due to 'active shooter situation,' authorities say
Authorities in western Idaho urged residents to shelter in place Sunday afternoon because of law enforcement activity in Kootenai County near Coeur d'Alene. The sheriff's office in neighboring Soshone County said on Facebook that authorities were 'dealing with an active shooter situation where the shooter is still at large.' An alert by the Kootenai County Emergency Management Office asked people to avoid the area around Canfield Mountain Trailhead and Nettleton Gulch Road. No details were provided.
