Accordingly, the Commissioner said the AGS will take up the grassroot level awareness programme for segregation of waste at source i. e from every household in the city.
Apart from segregation of waste, the AGS will also take up creating awareness on effective recycling of waste and also preparation of home compost.
Despite the corporation's best efforts which has been implementing door-to-door collection of waste, the segregation of waste is not followed effectively. Hence the corporation roped in NGO AGS for creating awareness on segregation of waste to achieve 100% waste segregation.
AGS Executive Director Gopala Krishna Murthy, Deputy Commissioner Amaraiah and AGS coordinator Kumari were present.

Minister pats MCT officials, staff
Tirupati: A team of officials and workers were felicitated following the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) winning national Swachh Survekshan Award. A meeting was held on Tuesday in Kachapi Auditorium for the celebrations in which Commissioner Narapureddy Mourya, health officer Dr Yuva Anvesh Reddy and other officials were felicitated by district in-charge Minister Anagani Satya Prasad. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Anagani Satya Prasad and MLA Arani Srinivasulu congratulated Municipal Commissioner Narapureddy Mourya and the team of officials and workers for winning the national Swachh Survekshan award consecutively. Commissioner Narapureddy Mourya said the credit of winning the award continuously for cleanliness goes to every sanitary worker and their officials working round-the-clock to keep the pilgrim city clean. District Collector Dr S Venkateswar, trainee Collector Raghuvamsi, Deputy Mayors Mudra Narayana, RC Munikrishna and corporators were present.

Copious inflow of funds for tribal welfare in Tirupati, says Minister
Minister for Tribal, Women and Child Welfare G. Sandhya Rani on Monday said that Tirupati district has received copious inflow of funds from various sources towards tribal welfare and the developmental works. Chairing a meeting of the Department of Tribal Welfare for Chittoor and Tirupati districts here on Monday to monitor the activities at the educational institutions, boys' and girls' hostels, she reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects. The tribal welfare girls' hostel in Tirupati received ₹3.52 crore for new buildings and staff quarters, the two Eklavya Model Residential Schools got ₹1.80 crore each, the boys' hostel in Srikalahasti got ₹2.40 crore. These apart, funds under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the tune of ₹1.76 crore was received collectively for 23 institutions. Ms. Sandhya Rani expressed hope that the district would benefit a lot when the infrastructure improves substantially in the welfare hostels. On the Women and Child Welfare front, the Minister reviewed the progress of ICDS, Poshan Abhiyan, Anganwadi centres. Officials from the two departments representing the Tirupati and Chittoor districts took part.
