She stated that under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu, the NDA government is progressing with development and welfare as its two eyes.
Participating in the 'First Step Towards Good Governance' programme held at Somandepalli mandal headquarters, the minister visited households to gather direct feedback from citizens on the one-year performance of the NDA-led government.
She personally interacted with people to understand whether they received welfare scheme benefits and instructed officials to immediately address any lapses in delivery.
She expressed satisfaction at the public's positive response and stated that although there are no elections at present, the NDA leaders are stepping into the public domain to assess the government's impact, following Chandrababu Naidu's directive.
'Unlike the previous YSRCP government, which distanced itself from people after coming to power, we are engaging directly with the public,' she said.
Taking a dig at Jagan, she remarked that his 'Recall Manifesto' campaign is merely an attempt to assert his political relevance.
'Corpse politics has become Jagan's habit,' she added, criticising his approach to public issues.
She asserted that within just one year, the NDA has brought Andhra Pradesh back on track after the damage caused during the YSRCP regime.
She said that Chandrababu's governance gives equal importance to both development and welfare and that all election promises are being fulfilled.
She concluded by saying that the only thing Jagan did during his five-year rule was deceive the people.
The event was attended by NDA alliance leaders and party workers from Somandepalli mandal.

Naidu sets July 15 deadline for Handri-Neeva phase 1
1 2 3 Vijayawada: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday directed the officials of the irrigation department to fill all tanks and reservoirs in the Rayalaseema region by releasing water from the Handri-Neeva project. Naidu held a review meeting with the officials to take stock of the ongoing works of various projects, water levels in reservoirs and steps being taken for water management. Naidu instructed the officials to complete Handri-Neeva Phase-1 works by July 15 and release 3,850 cusecs of water to fill the Jeedipalli, Gollapalli, Marala, and Cherlopalli reservoirs. He also directed the release of water to the Kuppam and Punganur branch canal by completing Phase-2 works by July 31. The officials explained the preparations being made to fill Jeedipalli first and from there supply water to the Penna Ahobilam balancing reservoir. The chief minister noted that inflows into major reservoirs this year were satisfactory. The officials informed that, except for Kadapa district, normal rainfall was recorded across the state. They stated that 419 TMC of water was currently available in all reservoirs, compared to 182 TMC during the same period last year. Naidu expressed confidence that all reservoirs would be filled this year and directed officials to adopt better water management practices. Naidu set a target of June 2026 for the completion of the Veligonda project works and assured that funds would be made available. He also directed the completion of the remaining works on the Polavaram left bank canal by July 31 and to take water up to Anakapalli. Naidu emphasized the need to give top priority to North-Andhra projects, including the Tarakarama Theertha, Thotapalli distributary works, and the interlinking of the Vamshadhara and Nagavali rivers. Stressing the importance of accurate water auditing, Naidu said that Vassar Labs would carry out the audit to ensure efficient planning and resource utilisation. He instructed officials to ensure all piezometers, water-level sensors, and rain gauge stations were functional and operational for accurate data collection. The Chief Minister also directed the irrigation department to maintain groundwater levels between 3 and 8 metres across the state.

Oppn intensifies protests seeking Veena's resignation
T'puram/Kottayam The Congress-led opposition intensified the protests against health minister Veena George following the death of a woman in the building collapse at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Youth Congress, KSU, Mahila Congress and Youth League organized protests across the state, including Palakkad, Kochi, Kollam, Kannur and Mananthavady, seeking the resignation of the health minister. In the state capital, Youth Congress organized a protest march to the official residence of the health minister, Thycaud House. The march resulted in a face off between the protesters and police for hours as the YC workers refused to disperse even after repeated use of water cannons by police. The YC activists tried to climb the walls of the health minister's residence. However, police, who were present in large numbers, managed to prevent them from entering the building. Police used water cannons several times against their attempt to breach the barricades. Police later arrested and removed the protesters from the scene. The face-off lasted for hours on the busy Thycaud-Vazhuthacaud road. Clashes also occurred during a Congress march to the Sasthamkotta taluk hospital in Kollam, demanding the health minister's resignation, injuring the block president and others. In Palakkad, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, while launching a protest by the Mahila Congress, said that chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan ought to have sought the health minister's resignation before going abroad in view of her alleged "inefficiency", "indifference" and "grave mistakes". In Pathanamthitta, Youth Congress and BJP continued their protests. Protest marches were taken out to the residence of the minister at Kumbazha and Angadickal as well as the DMO office and General Hospital. YC workers protested over the dilapidated condition of the E Block at the General Hospital. They staged a symbolic protest by placing pillars to support the walls.

Join hands to defeat DMK, says EPS
Chennai: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday issued an indirect invitation to TVK to join the AIADMK-led alliance for the 2026 assembly election after actor Vijay said he would neither align with BJP nor DMK . Palaniswami said those who wish to defeat DMK can join hands with him. "Our only intention is to remove DMK govt, which is anti-people. Those parties who have the same intention should join hands with us and face the election. We are happy to align with such political parties, and they too should cooperate with us," Palaniswami said while interacting with reporters at the AIADMK headquarters in Chennai. He was responding to a question on whether AIADMK would invite TVK to join its alliance to defeat DMK.
