Comedian and actress Crissy Rock has revealed that her current work commitments have her "living like a nomad". The Liverpudlian, famed for her portrayal of Solana hotel manager Janey Yorke in ITV's hit series Benidorm, is gearing up for a fresh UK tour, which sees her lifestyle become one of "couch to couch".
In an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk, the 66 year-old entertainer said: "Me, I'm like a nomad. I live from place to place to place. My wardrobe is just the boot of my car. If it wasn't for my friend, I would be living in a hostel or a cardboard box.

"When I'm in Liverpool, I go and see her and I have family and that so I just sort of move around from couch to couch."

Crissy delved into the reasons behind her transient lifestyle, stating: "It's just my job, it takes me everywhere."
She continued: "You can't become complacent, because every job is different."
Discussing her imminent tour, Crissy said that audiences will be treated to tales spanning from Christine Murray to Crissy Rock. It's been so busy she's had to schedule additional shows, she said: "It's gone berserk. I can't believe it. I'm really excited about it." "It's a journey of up and down," the acress added, saying that while she'll touch on more sombre chapters of her life, laughter will not be in short supply. Crissy remarked: "I think that's how I've coped with my life. Through humour."
Crissy confessed that amidst the hustle of her solo act, she would love to see Benidorm return to screens. She said: "I've heard that the show could come back and I think that it would be brilliant if they did bring it back.
"But I can't say much, but I would love it to happen. It's up to the writer, and I think that you couldn't say half of the things now. You'd have to be politically correct, so would it be the same?"

"The full cast, all of them, were brilliant. We had a lovely time. I think it was so popular because people could relate to the characters. They all knew someone who was like that. They could relate to the people who were on the programme."
Envisioning a possible revival plot, Crissy suggested: "I think it would be fab if Janey Yorke and Joyce Temple-Savage got back and locked horns over who was managing the Solana. That would be good, wouldn't it? Because they hated each other."

Currently, Crissy is entertaining audiences across the UK with her production, An Evening With Crissy Rock: From Bedlam To Benidorm. The show schedule extends well into Spring 2026 beyond its initial run in June 2025.

Love Island fans accuse ‘panicking producers' of ‘protecting' girl after explosive row – and giving her ‘winners' edit'

LOVE Island viewers have kicked off and accused bosses of favouring a certain girl in the villa. While there's no evidence of any ITV2 producers meddling in the process, fans have come to their own conclusions concerning Movie Night. 6 6 Viewers are questioning editing decisions when it comes to Helena and how she is being portrayed against Shakira. Fans have flooded the comments section of the site and claimed that producers have deliberately set up the brunette to look a certain way. In particular, why Helena's negative comments about Shakira were not aired during the infamous Love Island movie spectacular. Sofa detectives are claiming bosses are 'protecting' blonde air hostess Helena. During Movie Night, contestants were shown controversial scenes of all their antics that they might not have wanted to be shown. This included private conversations about other people in the villa, flirty interactions and kisses from Casa Amor. One user on Reddit wrote: "There's no good couples this year and we're already in the run up to the end of the season, so the producers are probably trying to push the couples that have been together longer, like Helena/Harry and Meg/Dejon. "They both got much lighter edits than they could have gotten on movie night!" A second assumed: "Producers are weird AF for putting in every clip of Shakira talking about Helena but left out half the clips of the sh*t Helena did that made Shakira feel that way." A third fan mused: "I just don't understand why the compilation of Shakira was shown without showing all the cr*p Helena has pulled that caused Shakira to act that way. Come on! Helena has been so nasty and Shakira was just reacting to it." "How they didn't show the 'shall I wear Shakira's bikini' clip is beyond me. Lmao," wrote another baffled fan. Love Island erupts in vicous row as FOUR girls confront 'mean girl' on Movie Night - and boy is forced to step in "They are basically protecting Helena," remarked another. "Makes me think the producers are protecting her because the couples are being torn apart and they need to give SOMEONE the winners' edit. "For the first time there's no front-running couple (or even anything remotely close to it) so near to the end and I imagine they've decided they need to push for one," penned another. During one clip, Shakira's comments on Helena were shown to the rest of the group. The moment showed a series of clips where Shakira slammed Helena for her behaviour. One clip showed her telling Toni that Helena needs to take off her bikini because it doesn't fit properly, another showed Shakira agreeing with Harrison after he called Helena Harry's "bit on the side". It came after Helena repeatedly tried to interfere with Shakira's relationship, from whispering sexual comments in his ear during the Heart Rate challenge, to taking swipes at Shakira and even asking Harry to the Hideaway while he was in a couple with Shakira. Love Island continues on ITV2 and is available to stream on ITVX. 6 6 6 6

Coronation Street's Jacob Roberts hints at Kit Green's grim fate after injury

Coronation Street star Jacob Roberts has opened up about his character Kit Green's fate following the police officer's brutal stabbing at the hands of Mick Michaelis Coronation Street's Jacob Roberts may have inadvertently revealed the grim fate of his character, Kit Green, following a recent injury admission on Monday (July 14). Jacob made his debut on the ITV soap last year as police officer Kit, who has been grappling with numerous challenges of late. ‌ Kit was first introduced to his biological mother, Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove), who had previously given him up for adoption. He later reconnected with his troublesome school mates, Mick (Joe Layton) and Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty). ‌ Mick found himself behind bars after murdering Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) last month, while Lou is currently in custody following her recent assault on Gary Windass (Mikey North). Jacob, who portrays Kit, appeared on ITV's Lorraine this morning, where he discussed tonight's shocking episode with host Ranvir Singh. The episode sees Mick return to the street after breaking out of prison, reports Leicestershire Live. ‌ In the hour-long episode, now available for streaming on ITVX, Mick shows up at Underworld in search of his eldest daughter, Joanie (Savanna Pennington). He traps Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) in the office, while a frightened Sally (Sally Dynevor) hides Joanie on the roof. Kit soon arrives on the scene, leading to a violent confrontation between the former friends that culminates in Mick stabbing the police officer. A gravely injured Kit is then rushed to hospital, with a horrified Sarah and Bernie looking on. ‌ During his chat on Lorraine, Jacob opened up about a painful incident he experienced while shooting an intense fight scene with his on-screen nemesis. "Me and Mick, Joe Layton who plays him, all our scenes together, we're pretty much fighting all the time," Jacob remarked, teasing the tumultuous times ahead for his character. ‌ "And you only have half an hour to do the fight scenes with the fight coordinator, so there's no time for error in those sort of scenes," he further divulged. "He literally lamped me on the chin, and as a true thespian he reacted straight away, like, 'Oh, sorry'. I wish he'd just carried on... My jaw was hurting for the rest of the day." The 35 year old star didn't shy away from sharing a personal low point that coincided with his Coronation Street debut—the harrowing ordeal of his rescue dog, Bugsy, going missing. "The first day I was on Coronation Street, I needed someone to obviously mind him, and my dad had taken him out and I think he escaped the leash. He was out for eight hours," Jacob confided. "He was terrible at recall when I got him... I was just stressing throughout the day... I finished work and was out for two hours trying to rugby tackle a dog, but he's good now."

Appearing on ITV's This Morning earlier today, Shirley couldn't hide her excitement as she spilled a few juicy titbits about what fans can expect when Strictly waltzes back onto screens later this year. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 6 Shirley Ballas appeared on This Morning today 6 She revealed two new pros have joined Strictly 6 Celebs Go Dating guru and Married at First Sight expert Paul C Brunson crossed over with Shirley - after The Sun revealed he has signed to the new celebrity line-up 'I can tell you that we have two new professionals joining the show and they are amazing,' she gushed. 'There's a few little changes — you know they do little things every year. But we've got the cast of all cast. It's going to be off the charts!' Things took a cheeky turn when Paul C Brunson, relationship expert from Married At First Sight, happened to cross over with Shirley. Host Ben Shephard couldn't resist stirring the pot, referencing The Sun's exclusive story that Paul has been signed to the 2025 series. Ben said: 'Well apparently Paul is in the line-up… show us a move!' to which Paul responded with a slick body wave that had the studio in stitches. Shirley clapped but played coy and expertly deflected the speculation, refusing to officially confirm anything. It comes after Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima's exits from the show. Giovanni, 34, sensationally quit Strictly in May last year following allegations about his behaviour in rehearsals from former partner Amanda Abbington. Months later Graziano, 31, was sacked after an altercation with Zara McDermott during her time on the show. Last month The Sun revealed one of the new dancers in talks to join the show after he was seen in rehearsals with the team. Strictly Come Dancing's Dianne reveals show's two new pro dancers have been signed up after Gio and Graziano's sackings We told how dancer and choreographer Luke Miller is hotly tipped to be announced as one of professionals. Fellow professional Dianne Buswell, 36, has also revealed two new dancers will join the competition when Strictly returns later this year. Speaking on her podcast with Chris McCausland, she told her co-host: 'You were in my dream the other day. 'We've got two new pros this year on Strictly - don't know who they are yet - a new boy and a new girl.' Comedian Chris, 48 - who won the show with Dianne last year - asked: 'Who are they getting rid of?' Dianne replied: 'Nobody, but we're adding two more. I dreamt that you were the new pro male. But I was fake happy, and it's really mean for me to say that, but I wasn't really happy for you. 'I was like, 'what the hell? He's going to think he's better than me now'. 'And to make it worse you won the series, so you were a double winner and I was like, 'this isn't fair, now everyone's going to think it wasn't me who made him win it was actually himself that won it the first time'.' 6 Shirley was on This Morning to announce a casting call for a dog to star in Coronation Street Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 6 Gio quit the show last year following allegations from Amanda Abbington Credit: Shutterstock
