Kylian Mbappé sues PSG, accusing former club of ‘moral harassment'
The Real Madrid star is at odds with his former club, arguing PSG owes him 55 million euros ($61 million) in unpaid wages.
Mbappé is also unhappy with the way he was treated by the Ligue 1 club when the France captain was sidelined before the 2023-24 season, following his decision not to extend his club contract.
The prosecutor's office said Mbappé is 'denouncing the 'lofting' he claimed to have been subjected to at Paris Saint-Germain.' The word lofting is used in France to describe a practice that involves isolating a player from the main squad for sporting, administrative, or disciplinary reasons.
Mbappé joined Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer after scoring a club-record 256 goals in seven years at PSG, which won the Champions League without him this year.
Mbappé's relationship with PSG ended amid deep tensions, and some fans booed him in his last home game at Parc des Princes. PSG felt let down by Mbappé after offering him the most lucrative contract in club history when he signed a new contract in 2022.
But Mbappé was frustrated because he felt promises to sign key players were not kept. When he signed that deal, he was paraded in front of fans holding up a jersey with 2025 on it. Mbappé was reportedly annoyed because the contract was until 2024 — with a player's option for an extra season.
Mbappé stunned PSG in June 2023 by informing the club he would not take the option for an extra year. With his contract effectively into its final year, it put PSG in the position of needing to sell Mbappé to avoid losing him for nothing when the contract expired.
His PSG career could have ended that summer amid a tense transfer standoff.
After telling the club he would not extend, Mbappé was left off a preseason tour to Japan and South Korea and forced to train with fringe players. PSG said it would rather sell him than let the player leave for free in 2024, but he rejected a 300 million euros move to Saudi Arabia team Al-Hilal.
PSG left Mbappé out of the opening league game of that season but he soon returned to the lineup following talks.
Mbappé's legal team said in April it would start an action against PSG for harassment because of the way he was treated at the time.

Ravens waived an undrafted rookie offensive tackle
The Ravens have made nearly a dozen roster moves over the past four days and just parted ways with another undrafted free agent. Baltimore signed former Jaguars running back D'Ernest Johnson on Saturday, and to make room on the roster, the Ravens waived undrafted rookie free agent offensive lineman Ozzie Hutchinson. Hutchinson (6-4, 305) signed with Baltimore following the 2025 NFL draft after he appeared in 41 games during his stint at Albany (2019-23), earning second-team All-CAA honors in his final season. Before the Hutchinson move, Baltimore announced five roster moves on Saturday, with the shocker being the release of undrafted rookie kicker John Hoyland. In all, the Ravens signed Brent Urban, Scotty Washington, and Baylor Cupp, while releasing Hoyland, tight end Sam Pitz, and linebacker Diwun Black. Copper scores 25, Thomas has another triple double as Mercury hand Sky 8th-straight loss
CHICAGO (AP) — Kahleah Copper scored 25 points, Alyssa Thomas had a triple-double and the Phoenix Mercury beat Chicago 83-67 on Sunday night, handing the Sky their eighth straight loss. Thomas had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for her second triple-double with the Mercury and her 13th in the regular season. Sami Whitcomb added 11 points for the Mercury (17-11), who had lost two straight and five of six. They outscored the Sky 56-32 in the middle two quarters and had 30 fastbreak points to just three for Chicago. All-Star Satou Sabally was not with the team for personal reasons. Elizabeth Williams had 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Sky (7-21), who were without Angel Reese. Michaela Onyenwere also scored 13 points and Kamilla Cardoso had 12 points and 10 rebounds. The game featured sisters Maddy and Kathryn Westbeld facing off for the second time. Maddy was a second-round draft pick of the Sky and Kathryn made the Mercury after playing nine seasons overseas. Maddy had nine points in 22 minutes and Kathryn none in six minutes.
