Male suspect wanted after shots fired at Vaughan business: police

Police are searching for a lone suspect after a Vaughan business was shot at earlier this week.
Police are searching for one suspect after a Vaughan business was shot at earlier this week.
York police say the shooting took place on July 17 at around 2:15 a.m. in a plaza near Centre Street and Westminster Drive.
One person arrived in a white sedan, exited the vehicle, and fired multiple shots at an establishment before fleeing westbound on Centre, according to police.
No one was injured.
Investigators are searching for a Black male, about six feet tall, with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, white undershirt, black pants, black shoes, and a black face mask.
Any witnesses, or anyone with video or dashcam footage, are asked to contact police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7441, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of 1st Avenue Northeast and Oxford Street East around 12 p.m. on Saturday, according to a news release from the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS). The pedestrian was taken to hospital by EMS with serious injuries, police said. Police said the suspect fled east onto Oxford Street in what they believe was a red pickup truck and are asking the suspect to come forward. Anyone with information or video footage of the area from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. that would help police with their investigation are also asked to bring that to the MJPS or Crime Stoppers.

Motorcyclist killed after colliding with pickup truck

A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a pickup truck in western Quebec, provincial police say. The crash happened at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Highway 105 near Kazabazua, Que., according to a news release from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). The northbound truck apparently made a left-hand turn and the southbound motorcycle couldn't avoid the impact, the SQ said. The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the crash is underway, the SQ said. As of 8:20 p.m., Highway 105 was still closed near the scene of the collision. Kazabazua is roughly 80 kilometres northwest of downtown Ottawa.

Around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, police sent a release advising that the residence did not pose an 'ongoing risk to the public,' as 'the threat is currently contained.' They are asking that residents avoid the area and follow the directions of officers there. They also ask that people don't post photos of police on social media until after the incident is over. Police said an update will be given when available.
