Kylian Mbappé sues former club Paris Saint-Germain for 'moral harassment' after tense exit from French side

Yahoo26-06-2025
Real Madrid star forward Kylian Mbappé is suing his former club Paris Saint-Germain for moral harassment over his tense exit from the club in 2024. The Paris prosecutor's office confirmed the legal filing on Thursday, per the Associated Press.
This follows Mbappé's legal team saying in April it would take action against PSG. The French star claims the club owes him €55 million ($61 million) in unpaid wages, and Mbappé also expressed dissatisfaction over how the club treated him in his final season.

After declining a contract extension, the 2018 World Cup winner was sidelined for most of PSG's 2023-24 campaign and booed at his final game at the Parc des Princes.
According to the prosecutor's office, the 26-year-old is "denouncing the 'lofting' he claimed to have been subjected to at Paris Saint-Germain." In France, the term "lofting" refers to isolating a player from the team due to administrative or disciplinary-related matters.
PSG signed Mbappé from Monaco in 2017 and he since helped the club to seven domestic Ligue 1 titles. They appeared in the 2020 Champions League final in 2020 but lost to Bayern Munich. Mbappé scored 256 goals in 308 appearances for the club.

In 2022, PSG offered Mbappé the most lucrative deal in club history: a three-year, €630 million (approximately $681 million) contract. However, per the AP, Mbappé was reportedly disappointed after the promise to sign key players to play alongside him was not fulfilled. PSG had Neymar, Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos alongside Mbappé from 2021 through 2023 but failed to find success outside of France.
In June 2023, Mbappé told PSG he would not exercise his player option and joined Real Madrid on a free transfer. Mbappé's departure did not go as smoothly, as he was left out of PSG's Japan and South Korea tours and trained separately from the first team. He was also sidelined for their opening game that season, but eventually returned to the field despite the visible tension with the club.
Mbappé scored 35 goals and three assists in the first season of his five-year deal with Real Madrid.
PSG won the Champions League title after steamrolling Inter, 5-0, in May. Mbappé insisted he was not "bitter" after PSG won the title after his exit.

NFL training camp 2025 news, live updates: Justin Fields, Jets offense struggling to get up to speed so far

[Top training camp stories | NFL team feeds | NFL training camp live blog] All 32 NFL teams have reported to training camp, and there's no shortage of intrigue and storylines so far. The New York Jets are hoping to be one of the NFL's most interesting offenses with Justin Fields under center, and there's still plenty of time to make that happen. Recent returns at training camp, however, haven't been strong. At practice Tuesday, a promising drive in 11-on-11s ended with a Fields interception, per SNYTV's Connor Hughes. That followed some struggles in 7-on-7s for Fields, and his total numbers the last three practices before Tuesday were reportedly 8 of 32 with an interception. [Subscribe to Yahoo Fantasy Plus and unlock Instant Mock Drafts today] The usual caveats apply here. It's early in camp, when defenses are universally ahead of offenses. Fields is in his first season under head coach Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand. The Jets are still trying to sort out what personnel to use with which packages, and play to their strengths. It's all very routine at this time of year. That said, the Jets are counting on Fields to help move the franchise in the right direction starting this season. While he'll likely never be confused with a pure passer, those numbers need to improve for the Jets' offense to be effective. Top NFL training camp stories Browns release first depth chart: The Cleveland Browns released their first depth chart of the preseason Monday, and the quarterback order is as expected. Veteran Joe Flacco is listed as the starter, and fellow veteran Kenny Pickett is listed at No. 2. Rookie Dillon Gabriel, whom the Browns selected in the third round of April's draft, is No. 3. And fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders, whose slide to the fifth round was the story of the NFL Draft, is listed at No. 4. Cleveland's first preseason game is Friday at Carolina. Micah Parsons continues hold-in: On Monday at Cowboys camp, Micah Parsons spoke at length with defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus to the side of defensive line drills during periods of individual work. He then spent most of team drills with Cowboys vice president of player personnel Will McClay, watching at ground level from the sideline while team owner and general manager Jerry Jones watched from an adjacent temporary tower. It's all indicative of how Parsons isn't simply holding in to avoid daily fines amid lagging contract negotiations, he's communicating with team leadership during the process. Travis Hunter, OROY DROY? What kind of impact could Travis Hunter have on both sides of the ball during his rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars? If you ask head coach Liam Coen, a historic one. Appearing on "The Rich Eisen Show" on Monday, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen agreed with the host that Hunter, who was selected No. 2 overall in April's NFL Draft, could win both NFL Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year as a wide receiver and cornerback. "I do think it's possible," Coen said. "He is committed to driving, not just himself, but his teammates as well. I think his teammates ... these guys are challenging him every single day. He doesn't get a free pass because he was the second overall pick and he's Travis Hunter." Patriots DC has health scare: New England defensive coordinator Terrell Williams had a health scare in the middle of team practice on Monday, when he fell onto the grass on the sidelines, according to reporters covering training camp. Medical staff quickly acted, went to aid Williams and rolled out a stretcher to help carry him off the field. The coach was able to get up on his own, per TMZ. Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald later reported that Williams collapsed due to dehydration, but was "fine" and receiving treatment. 3 observations from Day 10 of New York Jets training camp

New York Jets 2025 NFL training camp is well underway and will be watched under a microscope each and every day. Throughout practices, updates are shared during the workouts which make for intriguing and important notes. In terms of Day 10 of training camp, what stood out the most? Here are three observations from the 10th day of Jets training camp: Back-to-back bad days from Fields The Jets offense has only had one day of training camp practices considered as a "good" outing through 10 workouts. The last two certainly were not that. Many reports indicated a few very, very poor sessions from quarterback Justin Fields specifically. On the plus side Breece Hall at least made a few players, according to reports. At least one we have a visual of. On one catch, it wasn't exactly a full diving effort, but Hall went all out to make the grab: Defense playing well While Fields and the offense have struggled, it might have been for good reason. The Jets defense had another top outing on Monday. Cornerbacks Sauce Gardner and Brandon Stephens are earning praise. Injured Manchester United starter still hoping to feature vs Arsenal

Andre Onana is still hoping to be fit to face Arsenal in Manchester United's first game of the new Premier League campaign, as he works to recover from injury. Photo by PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images The Manchester Evening News report in their print edition on Tuesday, August 5th that Andre Onana hopes to be available for Manchester United's opening Premier League fixture against Arsenal. Onana has been out of action since the first week of pre-season training with a hamstring injury, and he's already missed all but one of their friendly matches. Yet he's optimistic he'll be ready in time for the Arsenal clash. 'I feel good, I feel great,' Onana said on Sunday. 'It's been a few difficult weeks but, yes, hopefully, I will be back for the start of the season. 'I'm enjoying the training with my guys and we are looking forward.' Photo by PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images A return for Onana against Arsenal would be a boost for United, given the initial timeline suggested he wouldn't be back until August 23rd at the very earliest. Even that would be a week too late to play against Mikel Arteta's side. Lisandro Martinez will be out of the match with his ACL injury, but Joshua Zirkzee is also expected to return in time for the Arsenal game. Noussair Mazraoui is being assessed for a hamstring injury, so he may or may not be available depending on the outcome of that assessment. Photo via As it stands, Arsenal are only expected to be without Gabriel Jesus for the trip to Old Trafford, though it remains unclear how serious Leandro Trossard's injury scare will turn out to be.
