UAE weather: Temperature hits 50 degrees, rain forecast this week
The hottest temperatures in the UAE were recorded at Al Dhaid in Sharjah, where thermometers recorded a high of 50.2°C, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
The five highest temperatures in the country on Monday, July 14 were:
Al Dhaid: 50.2 °C
Saih Al Salem: 49.5 °C
Al Shawamekh: 48.9 °C
Sweihan: 48.6 °C
Al Wathbah: 48.6 °C

With temperatures likely to stay high throughout the summer, attention turns to the likelihood of rain.
NCM forecasters point to the probability of rain in parts of the country this week.

Dubai will see a high of 44°C and a low of 35°C, while Sharjah will witness a high of 45°C and a low of 34°C.

Watch: Parts of UAE see heavy rainfall, hail, bringing respite from heat
Some parts of the UAE experienced much-awaited rainfall on Wednesday, July 16, bringing respite from the ongoing summer heat. Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman witnessed heavy to moderate showers. Heavy rain was witnessed in parts of Ras Al Khaimah, alongwith a bit of hail, UAE's National Center of Meterology reported. RAK's Wadi Al Khor and Wadi El Ejeili received heavy showers alongwith hail, according to the NCM. Moderate rainfall was reported over Munay in Ras Al Khaimah. Wadi Al Tuwa and Showkah too received light rain. Wadi El Helo in Sharjah and Khor Fakkan road towards Shees experienced light to moderate showers on Wednesday afternoon. Heavy showers were reported in parts of Ajman, too. Rain chasers in the UAE shared videos of rain and hail from different in parts of the country, bringing hope that the other parts might get rain soon.
