'My car just notified me that I have low fuel,' White says in the post. 'You want to guess how many miles that I have left until empty? Seventy two. Homegirl, let me know when I'm down to like, 10, OK?'
In the caption, she writes, 'I have like three more trips before I have to fill up. Gimme a break, Nissan.'

According to the car insurance company
Progressive
, it's a bad idea to drive on a low tank for a number of reasons.
First and foremost, this can lead to you running out of gas and being stranded on the side of the road.
But that's not all. It can also damage your
fuel pump
, which needs a certain level of gas (usually about a quarter of a tank) to keep running smoothly. Otherwise, air will get into the mechanism and that can cause it to overheat.
Additionally, driving without enough gas is bad for your vehicle's engine and
catalytic converter
. That's because low fuel can cause an engine knock that permanently damages the engine. When your engine misfires, fuel leaks into the catalytic converter, which can cause damage.
'Be Careful'
Every car's gas gauge is different. The number of miles left can also vary depending on driving style, road conditions, and weather. And you can't be sure you'll be within driving distance to a gas station if you wait until that light comes on.
So it's generally accepted as best practice not to simply wait until your fuel light comes on to refill.
In the comments, viewers offered a mix of perspectives on White's low fuel light strategy.
Some said they push the limit even further than she does. 'Me, personally, I wait until I have to throw it into neutral and roll into the gas station,' joked one driver.
However, others said this could potentially damage her vehicle. 'Start saving for a fuel pump, I guess,' suggested one viewer.
One person said this attitude is a potential safety hazard. 'Be careful,' they wrote. 'My car told me 39 miles and I ran out of gas. I had to hear my husband lecture me about how that number is an estimate based on terrain and average gas mileage. Nothing worse than being on the side of the road, watching my husband rescue me, and getting a lecture.'
Elsewhere in the comments, fellow
Nissan
owners backed this lecture up.
'My Nissan will either let me know at 70 or 17,' wrote one person.

Nissan sales slid in Q2, but affordable models held steady

Nissan on Tuesday reported its second-quarter 2025 U.S. sales, and there wasn't much good news. The automaker reported sales of 221,441 units across the Nissan and Infiniti brands-a decrease of 6.5% from the same period in 2024. The Nissan brand's sales were down 6.1% from Q2 2024, at 209,114 units, while Infiniti's were down 12.7% from that period, with just 12,327 units shifted. Through the end of June, Nissan and Infiniti together sold 488,526 units in the U.S., a decrease of 0.2% from the same period in 2024. The Nissan brand actually saw a 0.3% sales increase, 463,034 vehicles sold, but Infiniti sales dropped by 9.0%, to 25,492 units. Nissan's neglect of its luxury brand makes those results unsurprising, but there was something interesting to note in the main Nissan brand's sales. A trio of Nissan's least-expensive models saw big year-over-year sales increases in Q2. Sales of the Versa sedan were up 71.9% compared to the second quarter of 2024, the Kicks crossover saw a 52.8% year-over-year sales increase, and sales of the Leaf electric hatchback leaped 28% from Q2 2024. A sales boost for the Kicks was likely as redesigned versions of that crossover didn't start reaching showrooms until later in 2024 (newness may also be behind a 99.5% jump in Murano sales) but that doesn't apply to the aged Leaf and Versa. Perhaps continued price increases for new cars, which is now beginning to affect the supply of cheap used cars, is causing more shoppers to visit Nissan showrooms. The Versa remains one of the cheapest new cars available in the U.S., with an effective base price of $20,130 after destination. While it was still listed on the automaker's consumer site at the time of publication, Nissan is expected to end production of the even-cheaper five-speed manual Versa, although most customers likely weren't choosing that option. Similarly, the Leaf's $29,280 base price for the 2025 model year makes it one of the cheapest EVs around-even though it doesn't qualify for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. While there are some indications that the situation is improving-the Pathfinder crossover also recorded its best-ever sales quarter-Nissan remains in an unstable position. Outside the U.S., the automaker on Tuesday said it was seeking 250 voluntary job cuts in the U.K., home to one of its biggest assembly plants. Reuters on Monday reported that Nissan was seeking to delay payments to suppliers in the U.K. and Europe. Layoffs and cost cutting are the orders of the day under CEO Ivan Espinosa, whose stated goal is to achieve $3.4 billion in cost cuts over the next two years, included the reported $700 million sale of the automaker's headquarters in Yokohama, Japan. It's part of a rough road to recovery for Nissan, which lost $4.5 billion last fiscal year, and is looking to remain independent after merger talks with Honda quickly dissolved. ‘I Might Have Just Made the Biggest Mistake:' Man Trades His Lexus For a Ford Bronco Sport Badlands. Do You Take This Deal?

A Pittsburgh-based driver ominously shared the 'mistake' he possibly made by trading in a Lexus GX460 for a Ford Bronco Sport Badlands . Zach (@zk_v10) recorded himself sitting in his new ride and posted the footage to TikTok. Throngs of commenters replied to his clip, stating that his decision to ditch his Lexus was an exercise in poor judgment. 'So I might have just made the biggest mistake in terms of a vehicle trade. I traded the greatest SUV of all time, my 2022 Lexus GX460, for a new Bronco Badlands,' he says. Following this, the video cuts to a shot of him holding the Bronco keyfob up to the camera in front of the car's steering wheel. 'That's right, I got a real Bronco. Got, see the Bronco key here,' he says. Next, he points to the Bronco emblem beneath it. 'Badge there, this is a Bronco Badlands. Definitely not a Bronco Sport,' the TikToker remarks. His assessment of the vehicle's interior is positive. 'This thing is actually pretty nice on the inside. I already have a ton of opinions about this vehicle,' he says. 'So, if you have any questions about a Bronco Sport Badlands, feel free to drop them in the comments. And if not, I will probably be making a bunch of videos on it anyways.' Lexus vs Bronco Sport In another video , Zach extolled the certified pre-owned (CPO) program for Toyota's luxury brand. He called it 'phenomenal' in response to another TikTok user's comments on why they opted for a GX460, Zach's previous car. Zach went on to say, 'The used Lexus GX460 that I bought still had a year of the factory warranty, plus two years of Lexus's CPO warranty.' This peace of mind is something that Zach and other users who replied to his video said helped influence their decisions to purchase a used Lexus. For years, Lexus and Toyota have dominated Consumer Reports' lists of vehicle reliability. In 2025, fellow JDM auto brand, Subaru, took the top mantle with an over 68 out of 100 dependability score. Lexus didn't trail far behind with 65, and Toyota clocked in a 62. Prior to that, Lexus and Toyota routinely took the number one and number two spots. Honda, Acura, and Mazda have often followed their Japanese counterparts. Conversely, Ford scored a 44 out of 100 for reliability in Consumer Reports' 2025 rankings, placing the manufacturer far behind Nissan, Buick, Hyundai, Kia, and others. Bronco Issues One Ford Bronco Sport Badlands driver posted to the Bronco Sport Forum about the problems they've encountered. After just 15,000 miles of road travel, the commuter opined about what they call a 'known issue' with Ford cars: A 'rear brake groan.' They said they experience this noise whenever they're backing up the car. Furthermore, they said that the car's rear doors are too tight a fit. Consequently, the rubber seal holding the door in place causes friction against the rocker panel, which results in paint chipping near the lower portion of the door. Additionally, they mentioned premature corrosion of the car's battery. Other Bronco owners who replied to the thread stated that they haven't replicated the same problems with their vehicles. However, there was one person who said that they, too, have endured the rear-braking groaning noise referenced by the thread's original poster. Lexus Recall History According to Auto Recalls for Consumers (ARFC) , Lexus has had a total of 914 car recalls since 1989. Forty-two have been issued for the Lexus GX460 since 2010. The majority of them apply to various model years for near identical issues. First, fuel pump gasoline delivery complications were cited across GX460s manufactured in 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019. Other years saw front airbag inflator module deployment problems from 2010 to 2017. Kelley Blue Book writes that the 2022 Lexus GX460, the model that Zach traded in, currently 'has no safety recalls.' Commenters Sound Off Numerous TikTokers who replied to Zach's video echoed the comments made at the onset of his clip. This person wrote, 'You're right…..you made a big mistake by trading in your GX460 for that.' Another person penned, 'Yes you made a mistake and I am a Ford guy.' Someone else concurred that they thought his trade-in was a foolish one. 'Sorry for your loss. Come back here in 3 years and let us know how many engines and transmissions you went through.' One user expressed how baffled they were by Zach's decision to swap a Lexus for a Ford. 'Why would you get rid of the Lexus for that? Went from luxury off road to Kmart plastic and bad rod bearings…best of luck.' Another TikTok user who said they work as a Lexus tech did offer up a silver lining. However, it seemed more like a backhanded compliment. They wrote, 'Lexus tech you made a bad decision. But you will have more fun lifting it and doing big tires on it, it will also be cheaper. You will look pretty cool, with your hazards on the side of the road.' Motor1 has reached out to Zach via TikTok comment for further information. Renault Eats $11 Billion Loss From Nissan's ‘Catastrophic' Implosion

It's no secret Nissan has spent the better part of the past few years in a sales free-fall, but after months of doom, gloom and rampant speculation, the accountants have finally put a number on just how bad things have gotten: 11 billion. As in 11 billion dollars, which is how much alliance partner Renault is writing off in the first half of 2025 as its Japanese counterpart teeters on the verge of collapse. If there's any 'good' news here for Renault—and I use that term loosely—it's that this $11 billion effectively only existed on paper. It represented money already invested in Nissan's operations. In a sense, this is Renault's way of acknowledging that it effectively threw that money in the garbage. From now on, Renault will value its Nissan holdings based strictly on the Japanese automaker's share price, Reuters said. Renault's shares were up slightly on the news; Nissan's were down. The French company currently owns 37.5% of its Japanese alliance partner. The situation is desperate here in the U.S., which is Nissan's largest single market. Vinay Shahani, who heads up U.S. sales for Nissan, told dealer representatives that early Q2 sales figures were nothing short of an 'absolute catastrophe.' According to results released Tuesday, the company's second-quarter sales declined 6.5% from a year ago. The core Nissan division was down 6.1%, while sales at luxury subsidiary Infiniti were down 12.7. The Nissan brand's full-year results are closer to flat compared to 2024 thanks to stronger pre-tariff sales in Q1, though that interest has since cooled. Infiniti's full-year sales remain down 9%. Nissan's new CEO, Ivan Espinosa, has signaled his willingness to do virtually anything necessary to shore up the company's performance and implementing a new strategy dubbed 'Re:Nissan,' which will reduce the company's workforce by another 11,000 consolidate its 17 production plants down to 10—all by the end of 2027.
