Doechii Scores A New No. 1 With A Half-Decade-Old Song

Doechii's viral hit 'Anxiety' debuts at No. 1 on the U.K.'s Official Vinyl Singles and Physical ... More Singles charts, driven by limited edition vinyl sales. Doechii's song 'Anxiety' has experienced quite the unusual journey. The singer and rapper first shared the tune, which is built around a prominent sample of 'Somebody That I Used to Know' by Gotye and Kimbra, in 2019, when she was still working to become well-known. At the time, it didn't pick up much traction, but die-hard fans never forgot the track.
Earlier this year, following her performance at the Grammy Awards and her win for Best Rap Album, the song began to go viral. Doechii wisely re-recorded the composition and officially released it as a single, and it didn't take long for 'Anxiety' to rise into the top 10 on rankings all around the world. Just when it seemed the cut might finally be finished with its chart run, it surges once again, giving the hip-hop superstar another winner.
'Anxiety' Debuts at No. 1
'Anxiety' arrives at No. 1 on the Official Vinyl Singles chart in the United Kingdom this frame. The tune opens atop the tally thanks to its recent release on various limited edition colored wax pressings all around the globe. With this new win, Doechii replaces 'I Miss You, I'm Sorry' by Gracie Abrams, which also took its time climbing to the summit.
Doechii's Track Record Remains Perfect
Doechii has only ever sent two songs to the Official Vinyl Singles chart, and as 'Anxiety' arrives in first place, her track record remains flawless. In April, 'Denial Is a River' also reached the top space, spending two weeks on the tally before flowing away.
'Anxiety' Hits No. 1 on the Physical Chart
Thanks to its vinyl release, 'Anxiety' also rockets to No. 1 on the Official Physical Singles chart, vaulting from No. 24 to the peak position. The track earns the hip-hop powerhouse her second No. 1 on the tally, as it likewise follows 'Denial is a River' on this ranking.
Sales Push 'Anxiety' Up Another Tally
Purchases of 'Anxiety' skyrocketed in the U.K. recently thanks to the vinyl pressing. That uptick is reflected on the Official Singles Sales chart, where the cut bolts from No. 92 to No. 29 in its nineteenth frame on the roster.

The First Look at Meryl Streep and Simone Ashley's ‘Devil Wears Prada 2' Gala Dresses Is Here

THE RUNDOWN A sequel to The Devil Wears Prada wouldn't be complete without a scene at some version of the Met Gala. Luckily, the movie filmed their take on the iconic fashion event on Friday, August 1, at the Museum of Natural History. Photos from the set show Meryl Streep dressed as her character, Miranda Priestly, wearing her idea of a perfect red carpet ensemble. Naturally, it's stunning. In the new behind-the-scenes images, Streep can be seen posing with Stanley Tucci, playing Nigel, wearing a rich red gown with an asymmetrical neckline, one long sleeve, and a dramatic full skirt. She had her short platinum hair swept back and wore statement earrings with red and white jewels and a red stone ring. Tucci wore a black tux with a polka dot bowtie and a long black and white scarf. Bridgerton's Simone Ashley, who plays a new character in The Devil Wears Prada 2, was also seen on set in a sculptural take on the little black dress. The skin-tight ensemble featured sheer panels across her torso and an elevated neckline of netted fabric decorated with black rhinestones. She accessorized with a small black purse, hair ornaments, and shimmering tights. Ashley's character details have been kept under wraps so far. Aside from Streep and Tucci, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt are returning for the sequel, and new cast members reportedly include Lucy Liu, Pauline Chalamet, Kenneth Branagh, Tracie Thomas, B.J. Novak, and Justin Theroux. Hathaway recently spoke about returning to the world of DWP with WWD. The star is also reprising her role in the upcoming The Princess Diaries 3. 'I was so beautifully cared for on both of those films,' she said of her experience as a young actress on set in the original movies. 'I was so guided and looked after and cared for by the communities that made both of those films in particular, each of their directors, Garry Marshall and David Frankel.' She added, 'I'm so excited that now I can do that for other people, that now I have the knowledge and the experience and the confidence to take care of other people on sets in which I'm looked at as a leader.'

Why Kevin James doubted pal Ray Romano's ‘Everybody Loves Raymond' would work

Everybody loved Raymond — Kevin James, not so much. The comedian and actor admitted he initially had doubts about his friend Ray Romano's sitcom during the July 28 episode of 'Sibling Revelry with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson.' 'The fact that he got a show… I couldn't believe it because he's such a low-energy guy,' James, 60, said. 'Sitcom guys were, to me, like the big, wacky [characters]. I'm like this — this is death. It's not going to happen.' Advertisement 7 Kevin James and Ray Romano at the 'Everybody Loves Raymond' 100th episode party. FilmMagic, Inc Turns out, the 'Grown Ups' actor underestimated his buddy. 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' which premiered on September 14, 1996, on CBS, ran for nine seasons until 2005. It wasn't until James' own sitcom, 'The King of Queens,' premiered on the same network two years later that he fully grasped the scale of 'Everybody Loves Raymond's' success. 7 'The King of Queens' premiered on CBS two years after 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' in 1998. ©CBS/Courtesy Everett Collection 7 Kevin James as Doug Heffernan and Leah Remini as his wife Carrie in 'The King of Queens.' ©CBS/Courtesy Everett Collection Advertisement 'The first few years of going with Ray — even when our shows came out, we'd go to the same CBS functions and things like that,' James recalled. 'Red carpet things were so rough because they knew him, but my show had just come out… so they're taking a thousand pictures of Ray.' He remembered 'kind of standing there and nothing's clicking.' When he tried to step closer to Romano, the photographers asked for Romano alone. 'It was tough,' James added. Still, 'The King of Queens' went on to enjoy its own success, running for nine seasons until 2007. The series starred James as Doug Heffernan, Leah Remini as his wife Carrie and the late Jerry Stiller as Arthur Spooner. James' performance even earned him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006. 7 Ray Romano and Kevin James know each other from their stand-up days. CBS via Getty Images The 'Zookeeper' star, who knew Romano from their stand-up days, said he 'learned everything from Ray on how to do a sitcom' — especially how to tone down a scene when the moment called for it. 'He was so good on his sitcom, and the way he threw things away — I was like, 'Wow, I have to watch him and learn from him, because I'm going to be too big on camera,' James shared. 'So even in 'The King of Queens,' when I see episodes now, I'm like, 'Gee, throw it away, kid.' I'm like, 'Gee whiz. I wish I could go back and redo it.'' Advertisement Romano and James also found success in film, with Romano lending his voice to Manny in the 'Ice Age' franchise, and James starring in hits like 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' and 'Here Comes the Boom.' The two appeared together on screen when Romano guest-starred on James' sitcom 'Kevin Can Wait' in 2016.
