Woman seriously hurt in hit-and-run in Fort McMurray; RCMP need help finding vehicle

Police in Fort McMurray need help to locate a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run early Thursday morning.
It happened around 3:25 a.m. at the intersection of Parsons Creek Drive and Paris Crescent in the Timberlea area.
A 65-year-old woman suffered serious life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle.
Police said the driver left the scene without helping the woman.
The vehicle involved is believed to be a light-coloured SUV, possibly a Jeep Patriot.
Police believe it will have damage to the front corner bumper and signal light.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run or that has video from the area between 3 and 4 a.m. is asked to contact Wood Buffalo RCMP.

'Given the circumstances surrounding this event, SPVM investigators were called to the scene to analyse it,' he explained. The investigation will then be transferred to the Quebec Coroner's Office. Police were called to Ashby Crescent around 5 p.m. for reports of a medical emergency. Police say when they arrived, they found a man with apparent stab wounds outside of a residence. Endy Moniz, 27, of Strathroy, was pronounced dead on scene. Police have charged 27-year-old Joel Peralta Del Valle, of Strathroy, with first-degree murder. The accused remains in custody, and police say there is no threat to public safety. The investigation remains ongoing.

Mississauga driver dies in Dufferin County crash

An Ontario Provincial Police vehicle is stationed next to a property with a large windmill. Provincial police are investigating a fatal collision in Shelburne Saturday evening that resulted in the death of a Toronto area driver. According to Dufferin OPP, the crash involved two SUVs on Highway 10 between Highway 89 and 30 Side Road, and detachment officers responded to the scene at around eight o'clock. Police say one of the drivers, a 55-year-old from Mississauga, died in the crash, while three others were hospitalized with a range of minor and serious injuries. Dufferin County Paramedics, Shelburne fire crews, the Ministry of Transportation and OPP's technical collision investigators were all involved in the emergency response and initial investigation. Police say the investigation remains ongoing and anyone with footage or additional information about the incident is asked to contact Dufferin OPP.
