Nia Coffey, Allisha Gray power Dream past Sun 79-55
Atlanta led 48-43 four minutes into the second half then took control with a 15-5 run to finish the third quarter. Gray had 18 points, five rebounds and three assists through three quarters.

Connecticut managed only seven points in the fourth and finished at 31% shooting.
Maya Caldwell added 12 rebounds and six assists and Rhyne Howard had 11 points and eight rebounds for Atlanta (3-2). Gray had seven rebounds and three assists.
Marina Mabrey led the Sun (0-4) with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Tina Charles and Olivia Nelson-Ododa scored 11 each.
Atlanta shot 41% and had a 52-34 rebounding advantage.
Atlanta missed nine of 10 3-pointers in the first quarter but still led 21-16.
Charles made back-to-back baskets to give Connecticut a 28-27 lead midway through the second quarter. Atlanta led 34-33 with a minute remaining in the half before Coffey hit a 3-pointer for a 37-33 Atlanta lead at the break.

Gray entered averaging 19.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists, and she has helped Atlanta weather a series of injuries. Offseason acquisition Brittney Griner missed Sunday's game with a knee injury, rookie Te-Hina Paopao was out with a facial injury sustained in the team's win over the Dallas Wings on Saturday, and Jordin Canada as yet to play while she recovers from a knee injury.

Notre Dame great Skylar Diggins continues to make history in the WNBA, cementing her legacy within the league. After recording the first triple-double in WNBA All-Star Game history on July 19, the Seattle Storm guard hit the record books again on Monday when she recorded a triple-double in just three quarters, as the Storm defeated the Connecticut Sun 101-85. Diggins's two free throws at the end of the third quarter gave her 11 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in 22:51 of action, the lowest minute total for a triple-double in WNBA history. She also became just the second player in Storm history to record a triple-double, joining Temeka Johnson (2014). The Fighting Irish legend is the fourth player in the league to record a triple-double this season, and it was the 46th in WNBA history. Sophie Cunningham piques interest of pro wrestling promotion: 'She takes down the competition'
If Sophie Cunningham ever wants another job, she's got one. The Indiana Fever guard is in her seventh WNBA season, but she's hit the big time ever since she started a ruckus in defense of Caitlin Clark. Her fighting skills were put to the test, and a wrestling promotion apparently took notice. Jeanie Buss, the former majority owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, is the co-owner of Women of Wrestling, and she is heavily intrigued by the WNBA star. "We would love to have [Cunningham] join us at [WOW] she is talented, dedicated, and a fierce competitor!!" Buss posted on X earlier this week. Buss' colleague, Dave McLane, also raved about Cunningham during a recent appearance at Comic Con in San Diego. "I'm from Indiana. I'm from Indianapolis, and that's the home of not only the second-best basketball team in the country this last year, but the biggest name in professional basketball today, Caitlin Clark. And Caitlin Clark has an enforcer. She's the Marty McSorley to Wayne Gretzky, and she is a stunning athlete," McLane said of Cunningham, via The Daily Mirror. "I flew to Las Vegas and watched them in action against the Aces, and I would love to have Sophia Cunningham in WOW, because she takes down the competition, and she makes sure that Caitlin Clark is safe on the basketball floor. We'd love to have Sophie in WOW." Cunningham, of course, drew the ire of WNBA fans in a game last month after she came to the defense of Clark, who was fouled earlier in the game, by committing a flagrant foul of her own, which resulted in a huge scrum on the court and ejections. Jacy Sheldon poked Clark in the eye. She was also pushed to the floor by Marina Mabrey. Cunningham wrapped up Sheldon under the basket on a hard foul in the fourth quarter, and the two were ejected. "During that, it was just part of the game. I think the refs had a lot to do with that. It was a build-up for a couple years now of them just not protecting the star player of the WNBA," Cunningham told reporters days after the team lost to the Golden State Valkyries. "At the end of the day, I'm going to protect my teammates. That's what I do."
