South Africa's ICC World Test Championship squad celebrated their historic win over Australia at Lord's.
Two days after making history by defeating Australia, South Africa's triumphant ICC World Test Championship squad returned to Lord's on Monday to continue their celebrations.
The entire 15-player squad, along with the famous mace, gathered at the Home of Cricket to commemorate their five-wicket victory over Australia in the World Test Championship Final. This marked South Africa's first win in an ICC tournament in 28 years.

As reported by the ICC website, the players and support staff were in high spirits as they took one final look at Lord's before heading back to South Africa. All-rounder Wiaan Mulder described the celebrations as spirited.
'It's been a very, very good couple of days. Celebrations like I haven't had before, so as a team I think we're super chuffed and no better place to do it than at the Home of Cricket," Mulder was quoted as saying by ICC Digital at Lord's.
Mulder admitted he had barely slept since arriving in London due to the nerves leading up to the Ultimate Test and the post-match celebrations taking their toll.
Although the entire squad and support staff participated in the festivities, Mulder noted that players from Western Province led the way.
'I think it's the Western Province crew, to be honest," Mulder said when asked who had been the best celebrators. 'All of them celebrate victory very, very hard. Kyle Verreynne, Dane Paterson, David Bedingham and (batting coach) Ashwell Prince are kind of the leaders of our vibe team, so they have been the guys that have gone all out."
Mulder mentioned that he had received numerous messages of support from family and friends back in South Africa, and he had even spoken with Australian batter Travis Head, his teammate along with Pat Cummins at IPL side Sunrisers Hyderabad, after the victory.
'I actually spoke to him (Head) last night on the phone," Mulder said. 'He was chuffed for the way it went for us.
'Obviously, he was broken that they didn't win, but I think overall, the spirit of the game was really as high or as good as it could be.
'You think about the Aussies, you always think about them as being a little bit nasty at times, but I think these guys are true champions.
'And the way they go about it, the consistency that they bring to every single day and every single moment of the game, just shows why they're arguably the best team, best sporting cricketing team to ever play the game," Mulder told the ICC.

Shubman Gill breaks silence on Jasprit Bumrah's availability for 2nd Test: 'He is surely available but...'
Jul 01, 2025 05:55 PM IST India captain Shubman Gill confirmed Jasprit Bumrah is available for selection for the second Test against England at Edgbaston, beginning Wednesday, July 2. However, the final call on his participation will be taken later in the day once the team management has reviewed the 22 yards dished out for the contest. The 31-year-old will be playing just three Tests in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, as it was confirmed earlier. India captain Shubman Gill confirmed Jasprit Bumrah is available for selection for the second Test against England at Edgbaston. (AP) The No.1-ranked ICC Test bowler, Bumrah, dished out 43.4 overs in the series opener in Headingley. There was daylight between Bumrah and the rest of the seamers (Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur). The rest of the three pacers conceded runs at a brisk pace and were unable to create any sort of pressure. Bumrah took five wickets in the first innings but failed to take a single wicket in the second innings. Shubman Gill seemingly managed Bumrah's workload in the middle of the Test, as he was not asked to bowl even when England were 85 runs away from the target of 371. 'Bumrah is surely available. We have to look into this workload management. We have to look into the final combination today at the nets,' Gill told reporters on the pre-match press conference on Tuesday. (More to follow…)

Pakistani media claims BCCI has confirmed India's participation in Asia Cup 2025
Amid suspense over Indian cricket team possibly skipping the Asia Cup 2025, a report in Pakistani media has claimed that both India and Pakistan will take part in the continental tournament in September this year. read more The BCCI has reportedly confirmed to the broadcaster that India will take part in the Asia Cup 2025. Image: Reuters A report in Pakistani media has claimed that India are guaranteed to compete in the 2025 Asia Cup, despite uncertainty over whether the tournament will go ahead following the India-Pakistan conflict. The already strained relationship between the two nations has further deteriorated since the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack and India's strong retaliatory response through Operation Sindoor, during which multiple terror camps in Pakistan were reportedly destroyed. Since the Operation Sindoor wreaked havoc in Pakistan, it has been reported in Indian media that the Asia Cup 2025 may get scrapped as India may not take part in the tournament. Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) acquired the media rights for all Asian Cricket Council (ACC) tournaments, including the Asia Cup, from 2024 to 2031 at a base price of $170 million. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD For broadcasters to recover so much money, it's imperative that India take part in the Asia Cup. But if that doesn't happen, the broadcasters may pull out, leading to the cancellation of the tournament. A media report in May had claimed that the BCCI did not want to take part in a tournament that is headed by a Pakistani official . ACC is currently headed by Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The BCCI has since denied withdrawing from the Asia Cup and confirmed that they have not approached the ACC so far. Pak media says India will take part in Asia Cup 2025 Now, a report in Pakistan's has claimed that BCCI has confirmed to the official broadcasters that India will take part in the Asia Cup 2025, which will be played in the T20I format. 'Sony has now also been told by the BCCI not to worry – India will play in the Asia Cup,' the report said. It also stated that an Indian broadcaster has confirmed: 'The tournament will be held in September. Our team will also participate.' The report further noted that India and Pakistan have consistently faced each other in ICC tournaments despite strained diplomatic relations, suggesting that both teams are likely to participate in the Asia Cup 2025. 'No matter how strained the bilateral ties, India has never refused to play Pakistan in ICC events. The only reason is the lucrative media rights, mostly held by Indian broadcasters,' the report stated. The report also added that the Asia Cup 2025 is expected to be held from 12 to 28 September in the UAE. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

England playing smarter Bazball, India need to take wickets with new ball: Monty Panesar
New Delhi: Former England cricketer Monty Panesar has advised India to be ruthless with the new ball and to put early pressure on the English batters is the way to win the second Test at Edgbaston, which starts on Wednesday. Despite posting a combined 835 runs across their two innings, India's bowling attack, barring Jasprit Bumrah, who delivered Zak Crawley's wicket in the first over of England's first innings, failed to impose themselves on the English batters, allowing them to navigate the tricky play and unleashing attack as the ball wore on, which, in an exclusive conversation with IANS, Panesar described as 'Smarter Bazball.' 'What we have seen with England, they play the first 10 overs very slowly because the ball moves around; it swings, and when the ball doesn't do as much, they will start accelerating the scoring. So what they're doing is they're playing smarter 'Bazball' cricket. 'What India must do is, with the new ball, they need to take wickets. That's what they've got to do and if they don't do that, I think they're going to always play catch up. They need, like they did in Australia, they were taking wickets with the new ball. Same thing they have to do here. The way to win Test matches is that India must take wickets with the new ball,' Panesar told IANS. It certainly was not a great start to Shubman Gill's captaincy as Test captain as India began their 2025-27 World Test Championship Cycle with the loss. Panesar believes that although Gill is inexperienced, his efforts should go into curating the best bowling attack. He believes Prasidh Krishna needs to be much better in English conditions and Kuldeep Yadav's inclusion as the attacking spinner can be a boost and also allow Ravindra Jadeja to take more wickets. 'He's still inexperienced as a captain. I think Prasidh Krishna bowls the Australian length. He doesn't bowl the UK length, which is slightly fuller, top of off stump. That's why I think if he does play, he needs to bowl the ball fuller. He needs to take wickets in his first spell. He can't be taking wickets, you know, later on. ' Kuldeep Yadav is going to be the attacking spinner if he plays, and Shubhman Gill, you should use him in an attacking role. I think Jadeja will definitely play because of his batting; he could be the defensive spinner. Jadeja being the defensive spinner, I think that will help him to take wickets. "So, if Kuldeep Yadav plays, Gill must use him as the attacking spinner, have attacking field sets. Have a field set that looks to take wickets. Kuldeep Yadav's job is to take wickets,' he added.
