Cong appoints observers for first phase of organisational restructuring
This is a total of 180 top Congress functionaries who have been given the responsibility of finding capable district presidents.
AICC in-charge for Madhya Pradesh unit affairs Harish Chaudhary had told reporters that the first phase of state Congress' reorganisation will be complete in two months.
The first phase of the state Congress reorgansiation would be election of new district presidents. The second and third phases would elect block presidents and booth in-charges.
The three observers who have been appointed for each organisational district who will speak to local Congress leaders and party workers to make a list of suitable candidates.
For Morena, the party has appointed former minister Lakhan Singh Yadav, sitting MLA Siddharth Kushwaha and former state party general secretary Mahendra Singh Chouhan as observers. Former finance minister Tarun Bhanot, former state party general secretary Sunil Sharma and ex MLA Mevaram Jatav are observers for Sheopur district.

NEW DELHI: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor took a swipe at the US on Thursday after it announced a deal for working with Pakistan to develop "massive oil reserves" in the South Asian country, saying Washington may have "some illusions" about finding oil in Pakistan and "I wish them luck". US President Donald Trump has announced sealing a trade deal with Pakistan and said Washington will work with Islamabad to develop what he described as the South Asian nation's "massive oil reserves". It was not immediately clear what massive oil reserves in Pakistan Trump was referring to. In a social media post, the US president also wondered if Pakistan could sell oil to India "some day". "We have just concluded a deal with the country of Pakistan, whereby Pakistan and the United States will work together on developing their massive oil reserves," Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday. "We are in the process of choosing the oil company that will lead this partnership. Who knows, maybe they'll be selling oil to India some day!" he added.

‘Evil attempt' to malign Hindus rejected: RSS, VHP welcome 2008 Malegaon blast verdict
Earlier in the day, a special NIA court in Mumbai while delivering its verdict in the 2008 Malegaon blast case noted that the prosecution failed to provide reliable evidence against the accused. In a statement released Thursday, RSS's publicity in-charge Sunil Ambekar said, 'On the basis of some selfish motives, political selfishness and personal interests, an evil attempt was made to link the entire Hindu dharma and Hindu community to terrorism. With the court's verdict today, all those attempts and allegations have been declared baseless.' New Delhi: The malicious attempt to link Hindu religion and Hindu society with terror stands rejected, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said on a special NIA court acquitting all seven accused including former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. 'A conspiracy was hatched to defame Hindu society in the Malegaon blast case and 'saffron terror' was coined. This verdict is important because it shows there was no such thing as 'saffron terror', it is not there and it can never be either,' said Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Alok Kumar. In a statement issued Thursday, Kumar added, 'After losing the game it is unfair to blame the umpire. Everyone should accept the court's verdict. We knew they were innocent since 2008 itself.
