At first, I thought STORY might be the Wordle. I was so close! Only two words remained and I debated between STORK and STORM. I was pretty sure we'd had STORM in the past, however, so I went with STORK and lucky for me, I was right! This Wordle made me think of the film Children Of Men, a fantastic movie that I just wrote about recently. The film is about a dystopian future where women are no longer able to have babies. There's a joke that Michael Caine's character, Jasper, tells. It goes like this: I get 1 point for guessing in three and 1 point for beating the Bot. The Bot gets -1 for guessing in five (something we rarely see!) and -1 for losing to me. At last, I take the lead in August, making up for a disastrous start to the month. Sadly, most audience members will have to wait a few more days before the release of The Naked Gun on August 1. More recently, though, early critics have shared their thoughts on the long-awaited reboot film, calling it a refreshing turn to form for the hit comedy series. A spirtitual continuation of the cult favorite police procedural spoof series, The Naked Gun follows Frank Drebin Jr. (Liam Neeson), an industrious police lieutenant who proves to be every bit as clumsy and ineffective as his late father (Leslie Nielsen). The fourth entry in The Naked Gun series, this new version of The Naked Gun comes just over 30 years since its previous installment, recasting the 73-year-old Neeson as the new face of the beloved franchise. In spite of some viewers' obvious skepticism about a Naked Gun reboot, the new film has earned all-around fantastic reviews from critics, earning standout praise for its performance, humor and loving references to the original films. "[The Naked Gun] is the biggest surprise of the year," wrote The New York Post's Johnny Oleksinski. "Someway, somehow, it's the funniest movie to hit theaters in a long time." "We're talking gasping-for-air, 'Get my inhaler!' hilarious," Oleksinski continued. "In the spirit of the 1988 classic, director Akiva Schaffer's movie carpet-bombs us with nonstop jokes — from stupid to clever to utterly deranged. They never, ever let up." IndieWire's David Ehrlich agreed with Oleksinski's sentiments, writing, "That's a delicate tango in the context of an increasingly rare studio movie that exists for no other purpose than to make people laugh, but it's one this hilarious new take on the old ZAZ masterpiece pulls off with a rose between its teeth." Aniston popularized a choppy layered bob called "The Rachel" in the ' Aniston gave "The Rachel" a modern update on Sunday as she celebrated the launch of her hair care brand LolaVie's latest release.
