Ed Sheeran caused Gordon Ramsay to 'collapse like a wimp' as his wife gave birth

Daily Mirror20-06-2025

Gordon Ramsay fainted in the delivery room when his son Oscar was born, despite his wife Tana banning him from being present at the births of their first four children
TV chef Gordon Ramsay fainted during the birth of his son as Ed Sheeran 's tunes serenaded the delivery room. The 58-year-old culinary star, who had previously been absent from the birthing room for his older children Megan, 26, twins Jack and Holly, 25, and Tilly, 23, due to wife Tana Ramsay's wishes, was present for the arrival of their fifth child, Oscar.
However, the Kitchen Nightmares icon's elation quickly turned to alarm when he passed out while cradling new-born Oscar, with Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud' playing in the background.

On the Smartless podcast, Gordon revealed: "Let's make one thing absolutely clear, my wife didn't want me in there. First of all, she said, 'I want my mum and your mum in there, you're not going to see me in that state, that side of the curtain, get out of there.'

"That was her decision and I had to respect that decision. When I did final arrive in the theatre for our fifth baby I f****** collapsed like a wimp! I blacked out holding Oscar in the air."
Gordon has been sharing some intense moments from the delivery room, recounting, "He was coming through the sun roof so there was a lot of commotion going on. They said, 'What do you want to listen to?' So I said, 'Can you play Ed Sheeran?'
"So they started playing Ed, they turned up the volume, I can hear all these noises, all of a sudden I see two more doctors dive in, I look to the floor and there was blood everywhere. They popped him out and then they came straight over to me and I went, 'Woah, woah, s***.' I sat back and I collapsed like a f****** idiot."
The celebrity chef and his wife Tana are basking in the joys of parenthood once more with their little ones Oscar and Jesse James, who joined the family in 2023.
Gordon, a three Michelin star culinary maestro, is keen on instilling strong work values in his children, ensuring they understand the importance of hard graft rather than relying on their privileged background.

Proud of his older children's diverse career choices, Gordon does admit to a twinge of disappointment that his daughter Tilly, aspiring to be a chef, opted for training at Ireland's Ballymaloe Cookery School instead of one of his own kitchens.
Gordon emphasised the importance of balance in life, saying, "Balance is critical. Every time we were filming throughout the US the kids would come with us and then we were take them out of school two weeks early, and they put them back two weeks late, so we would do the filming schedules around the shooting schedules.
"It's a lot easier now, we had four amazing kids and then Tana and I has this crazy idea to go back for more. So there's quite a big gap. Megan, she's our eldest, she's 26, she's an incredible police officer back in London.
"Then we have the twins who are 25; Jack is a Royal Marines Commando, Holly is in to her fashion. And then there's Matilda, who is 23, who has just come back from culinary school, would you believe, a beautiful school called Ballymaloe.
"I am a little bit miffed that she didn't ask me to train her and she's gone off elsewhere. She's seen the shows, that's the problem! You've got to give them the values, and instil those values, they can't depend on mum and dad."

Credit: ITV 4 Lee revealed how many people had been flummoxed Credit: ITV One question left 13 people perplexed, prompting them to use their pass to stay in the game. All 100 players start with £1,000, but should they pass on a question, it goes into the prize pot. Each person can only do this once - so it's important to pick the right moment. Lee asked for the 45% question: "Which is the odd one out? A) Dapple, B) Slime, C) Spear or D) Rabbit. Contestants only had 30 seconds to identify the correct answer and lock it in. Once time was up, the comedian revealed: "We've only lost three of you, but there was 13 passes on that one." The right answer was: D) Rabbit, as, "Rabbit is the only word when you take away the first letter it does not spell out the name of a fruit." "Dapple" becomes Apple, "Slime" becomes Lime and "Spear" becomes Pear. It's not the first time that contestants were caught out on a tough question. A previous episode saw host Lee left shocked as a record-number of players used their pass. The 1% Club's Lee Mack shocked as record number use pass on question - but can you get it right- A whopping 46 players were left baffled on a tricky word question and opted to utilise their pass on the show. As well as the 46 people who opted to pass to the next question, a further seven got it wrong meaning that more than half of the show's contestants failed to arrive at a correct answer. The question that caught them out, read: "Which of these words can have two of its letters swapped over and still result in a valid word?" The players were then given three multiple choice answers to choose from - Conversation, Dialogue and Chat. Hardest Quiz Show Questions Would you know the answers to some of quizzing TV's hardest questions Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - Earlier this year, fans were left outraged after what they described as the "worst" question in the show's history. Host Jeremy Clarkson asked: 'From the 2000 awards ceremony onwards, the Best Actress Oscar has never been won by a woman whose surname begins with which one of these letters?' The multiple choice answers were between G, K, M and W. In the end, and with the £32,000 safe, player Glen had to make a guess and went for G. It turned out to be correct as Nicole Kidman, Frances McDormand and Kate Winslet are among the stars who have won the Best Actress gong since 2000. - Earlier this year, fans were left outraged after what they described as the "worst" question in the show's history. The query went as follows: "Edna's birthday is on the 6th of April and Jen's birthday falls on the 15th of October, therefore Amir's birthday must be the 'X' of January." It turns out the conundrum links the numbers with its position in the sentence, so 6th is the sixth word and 15th is the fifteenth word. Therefore, Amir's birthday is January 24th, corresponding to the 24th word in the sentence. - Viewers of Lee Mack's popular ITV show were left dumbfounded by a question that also left the players perplexed. One of the questions asked the player: "Someone with a nightshade intolerance should avoid eating what?" The options were - sweetcorn, potatoes, carrots - with Steve selecting sweetcorn but the correct answer was potatoes. Lee went on to reveal the answer as Conversation. The V and S could be swapped with one another in order to create the word - Conservation. Addressing the astonishing number of passes, Lee said to the players: "Now, you've just broken a record you lot, because, between you, you have just used 46 passes!" Disney holds ‘crisis talks' after Jared Leto sexual misconduct report threatens to derail release of movie Tron: Ares

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) DISNEY has found itself scrambling to organize the promotion of Jared Leto's new movie amid historic claims of sexual impropriety, an insider has exclusively told The U.S. Sun. Leto, 53, has been accused by nine women, including some who were teenagers at the time. Recalling the alleged experience at his house, she said, "I thought maybe this was just what adult men do." Leto's reps denied any wrongdoing, saying, "Their communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate and Ms La Rue later applied to work as his personal assistant." La Rue denied she ever applied for the job, according to AirMail. He is not being sued or charged with any crime, but the report has thrown a wrench in the works when it comes to promoting his latest films. The Oscar-winning actor has two big-budget films being released in the coming months at Disney and Amazon MGM, Tron: Ares and Masters of the Universe. Ahead of Tron's release in October, Disney is scheduled to host a panel at San Diego ComicCon at the end of July, The Wrap reported, although it's not known whether or not Leto will appear on it. "Jared wants it to be business as usual ahead of the release of his new movie, but Disney is nervous about the promotion of Tron," an insider exclusively told The U.S. Sun. "The accusations of sexual misconduct couldn't have come at a worse time. "The marketing team has been having crisis meetings ahead of its theatrical release in October. Jared Leto shows off bold change to his appearance at MTV VMAs - as fans think he looks just like Kanye West's ex "Disney is planning to host a panel at San Diego ComicCon to push Tron: Ares and Jared has made it known that he's happy to be on it. "He doesn't want to hide away having denied the allegations and not only is he the lead, he's one of the producers. "Talks are still ongoing about how to handle the situation, but he will likely take part in some capacity and hold his head high. "He is not being sued civilly and he isn't being charged with a crime, if he were I think things would be a lot different." Disney may still have to cut its losses on this one." An insider told The U.S. Sun Leto took to the stage to speak about Tron: Ares during CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas on April 3, 2025, just two months before the report was published by AirMail. One woman speaking to the outlet claimed his behavior "has been an open secret for a long time." The U.S. Sun's source added, "Disney may still have to cut its losses on this one but will still do what it can to promote the movie and create a buzz." Neither Disney nor a representative for Leto responded to a request for comment. San Diego Comic-Con runs from July 24 to 27. Tron is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 10. The movie also Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Cameron Monaghan, and Jeff Bridges. And although a big-budget movie usually comes with TV and print interview slots for its lead star and a social media push, there has been no marketing since the initial trailer was released in April. Leto is also set to appear in Masters of the Universe, which is scheduled for release in June 2026, although he is not the lead character in the live-action feature film. The actor has been cast as Skeletor, the primary antagonist to Nicholas Galitzine's He-Man, according to reports. Leto is also the frontman of the rock band Thirty Seconds To Mars, which is on tour until the end of the summer. He has played major roles in several movies, including The Joker in Suicide Squad, and won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Dallas Buyers Club. 4 Fans got to see the trailer for Tron: Ares, which was screened at The Walt Disney Studios presentation during CinemaCon in Las Vegas Credit: Getty
