'It's all I've been watching': TV fans crown the best streaming service
Viewers are spoiled for choice, and choosing which few to spend money on is not an easy decision, with both cost and quality of content to consider.
When it comes to the 'best' streaming service, however, a standout platform for one viewer isn't necessarily going to be a top pick for another — it all depends on personal taste.
But in an attempt to find out which is the most popular among TV and film buffs, we've scoured Reddit to see what viewers are saying — and there's one streamer that consistently came out on top.

In news that may not surprise many, Apple TV Plus was favoured by TV fans on Reddit, with many praising the consistently high-quality content.
Reddit user ImperialPotentate said: 'AppleTV+ is all I've been watching for nearly two months now, aside from The Pitt. Silo, Slow Horses, Dark Matter, Foundation, working on For All Mankind… the banger-to-filler ratio 5:0 so far.'
Another user added: 'For me, having recently discovered it, it has to be Apple TV. So many good shows; Silo, Long Way Home, Severance and that's just what I have watched. I've heard there are lots of other top shows.'
Xer0b0t said 'I think Apple TV has the best in quality sci-fi,' while ArchDucky added the streamer is 'pretty much unmatched at this point.'
OddlyDown agreed, writing: 'Everything is well made, and it has the shows I care about most'.
However, while there were no arguments about the standard of the content, some users pointed out that the smaller library on Apple TV is a drawback.
User validelad said: 'It has consistently high quality, but a serious lack of depth/library compared to basically every other service.'
And Ok-Character-3779 added: 'Apple has a great track record in terms of not many duds, but you can go through their whole catalogue in a couple of months.'
Lollie85 also weighed in, writing: 'Apple TV+ [compared to Netflix] seems to have less total content but a much higher proportion of stuff I have enjoyed watching. If I had to pick, I'd go for Apple TV+'.
It's a resounding success for the streamer, but let's find out which other platforms TV fans recommend…
As the largest streaming service globally, with close to 300 million subscribers, it was inevitable that Netflix would be another favourite among TV fans.
Users praised the sheer volume of content, with many saying they're always able to find something new to watch on the streamer.
'It's not perfect and they've made some bad decisions over the years, but the proof is in the watchlist. At any given time there's likely half a dozen shows on our currently watching, and another half dozen for the kids profile,' Reddit user SillyMattFace said.
GuidetoRealGrilling added: 'I've been on Netflix since it released the streaming service. It has always been consistent for me,' while Normal_Cut_5386 said that Netflix licensing content from other providers is a big selling point for them.
Meanwhile, Maester_Bates said: 'Netflix is the only one I use for the simple reason that all of the others are filled with American TV shows and movies, and Netflix has a huge selection of international content.'
Disney+ proved to be popular with fans of cartoons as well as major franchises like Marvel and Star Wars.
Tobotic said: 'If I had to keep one, it would be Disney+. It's always adding good new series, plus it's got The Simpsons as a good fallback when you just want to put something on but don't really know what.'
Another user added: 'I'd say Disney at the moment. There seems to be plenty of the dross my wife likes to watch and I absolutely love American Dad.'
And ShaneSkyrunner also voted for the streamer, saying: 'Star Wars, Marvel, and The Simpsons are three of my favourite things. Plus I like to revisit some of the older Disney films from my childhood from time to time as well.'
Meanwhile, McSheeples revealed: 'Disney for us at the moment, but we've taken to subscribing to one service at a time and binging what's on it until we can't find anything else we want to watch.'
In a big win for the completely free streaming service, which has seen its popularity soar in recent years and now boasts 97 million users, Tubi has proved popular with TV fans on Reddit.
Damienkarras1973 left a glowing review, writing: 'It's not even a contest, Tubi for the win. The amount of content is just insane and that doesn't even include the live channels that I've been toying with this last week.'
Patchouliii agreed, adding: 'Tubi has everything. Action, comedy, foreign TV shows and films. You can take everything else, but I'm keeping Tubi.' I Know What You Did Last Summer — the original 1997 horror was added to the streamer ahead of the remake's release this year.
— the original 1997 horror was added to the streamer ahead of the remake's release this year. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies — this tongue-in-cheek retelling of Jane Austen's novel sees the Bennett sisters juggle their romantic lives with fighting zombies.

Tubi is free to watch online or through the smart TV app.
Other streaming services popular with TV fans include Peacock, which UK viewers can watch with a Sky TV package or Now's entertainment membership, as well as Amazon Prime Video, Paramount Plus, BritBox and another free service, Pluto TV.
One user said Peacock's sitcom selection is 'unbeatable', while another added 'there's always something good to watch on Peacock'.
Dizzyoatmeal, meanwhile, said: 'As an anglophile, I'd have to go with Britbox. Lots of great quality content, and they don't mess you about with ads.' More Trending
And Automechanic2 said: 'Probably Paramount Plus because I can't do without SpongeBob and other Nickelodeon shows,' while BelAirGuy45 countered: 'Amazon Prime. I can usually find something to watch fairly quickly. Can't say that about the others.'
And there was plenty of praise for lesser-known streaming service Pluto TV, which is completely free.
Neeliemich said: 'It has a majority of my favourite series on their own channels (Star Trek is on two channels, CSI, Criminal Minds, Frasier, and Murder She Wrote).'

Wrexham's Mark Lewis Jones to narrate Hans Zimmer concert
It is the opening concert of the 2025 Llangollen International Eisteddfod which takes place between July 8 and 13. Mark Lewis Jones, who hails from Rhos, Wrexham, is lending his unmistakable voice to what promises to be an unforgettable concert. Mark's narration will complement the music of Hans Zimmer, brought to life by Cinematic Sinfonia, an outstanding 70-piece orchestra under the baton of the internationally renowned conductor Anthony Gabriele. From the sweeping scores of Gladiator and Interstellar to the haunting themes of Inception, Hans Zimmer's music has defined a generation of cinema and now it will be performed live in Llangollen, with Mark's evocative voice guiding the audience through the emotional and cinematic journey. He is one of Wales' most celebrated actors, known for his powerful performances on both the small and big screen. His film work includes appearances in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Good Liar, Phantom of the Open, Munich: The Edge of War, and Rebecca. His television credits include standout roles in Baby Reindeer (Netflix), The Crown (Netflix), Chernobyl (HBO), The Way (ITV), and Stella (Sky), for which he earned a BAFTA nomination. In 2024, Mark was honoured with the prestigious BAFTA Cymru Siân Phillips Award, recognising his outstanding contribution to film and television in Wales. He previously won Best Actor at BAFTA Cymru for The Passing/Yr Ymadawiad and has been nominated an impressive seven times in the same category. Mark said: 'The Llangollen International Eisteddfod has been part of my life since I was a boy growing up in Rhos. To now play a major role at this incredible celebration of music and culture, just down the road from where it all began for me, is an honour beyond words. MOST READ "I'm especially thrilled to be part of this Hans Zimmer concert, complete with 70-piece orchestra - his music stirs the soul, and to share that experience in Llangollen is something truly special.' Dave Danford, artistic director of the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, said: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome Mark Lewis Jones to the Eisteddfod stage. Not only is he a local talent, but his voice and presence will elevate this already outstanding concert to another level. "To hear Hans Zimmer's music performed by a full orchestra with Mark's narration will be an unforgettable experience for everyone. Mark and this concert are the perfect fit and will be an outstanding start to our Eisteddfod."

I tried Charlotte Tilbury's Unreal Blush Stick and it's my new make-up must have
Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more Charlotte Tilbury never misses with her ever-expanding eponymous beauty brand. From the Pillow Talk range, the Hollywood Flawless Filter to the Magic Cream, the brand features iconic and bestselling products, and we think the British beauty mogul may have created another hit product – the Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick. Charlotte Tilbury has just launched the Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick in six colourways this summer, and I have been testing the product behind the scenes over the last few weeks. Safe to say, it's blended into my make-up routine seamlessly. Charlotte Tilbury's Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick proved to be a huge hit, but it has been given a colourful twist in the form of the new Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick, which the brand founder describes as the 'summer-glazed glow up whenever, wherever!' Formulated with Colour Light Mapping Mesh Technology, plant based Collageneer, multi-weight hyaluronic acid, as well as daikon seed oil, vitamin E and pearlescent pigments, this glow stick is not only nourishing, hydrating, but non-drying, non-greasy, and super easy to blend. The Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick is well pigmented so a little goes a long way for those wanting to add a pop of colour to your cheeks, though it is buildable for those wanting a stronger look too. Available in six colourways. Buy Now for £30 This multifunctional glow stick is a hybrid between a blusher, bronzer, contour and highlighter in one, and with an added boost of hydration, thanks to the lightweight balm texture. The glow stick has been formulated with Charlotte Tilbury's Colour Light Mapping Mesh Technology, which contains smoothing emollients that work to blur the skin's complexion. The moisture mesh technology uses large hyaluronic acid molecules to hydrate the skin on a deeper level, and helps to protect the skin's barrier. The glow stick also contains light-mapping pearlescent pigments, though the finish is far from iridescent, glitzy, or pearly – much to my delight. However, there is no denying this product effectively illuminates the skin. The formula also contains plant-based Collageneer, as well as multi-weight hyaluronic acid, which aims to plump, firm and hydrate the skin, while daikon seed oil and antioxidant-rich vitamin E provide an extra boost of hydration and nourishment. Safe to say this product is more than just a make-up cosmetic, as it borders the skincare sector too. The Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick comes in six colourways, including Pretty Glow, Peachy Glow, Berry Glow, Pinky Glow, Cherry Glow and Rose Glow, all of which are super easy to use, are blendable and buildable. Now the intricate detail is out of the way, it's time to weigh in on my thoughts. I have trialled a variety of multipurpose beauty sticks, and adore them. Not only are they easy to use, but they give that 'your skin but better make-up look' in seconds. But this new creation from Charlotte Tilbury may be the best I've tried. I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on the Peachy Glow and Rosy Glow shades, which I wear simultaneously, and alternate between to achieve different make-up looks. More Trending The sticks are quite chunky in size, which I prefer as it means one sweep and I am done, plus a little goes a long way. Though if you prefer precise application I recommend applying the product to a brush to get into specific areas. The stick is well pigmented, so one sweep was enough to buff into my cheeks and inject some life into my lacklustre complexion. It is super easy to blend thanks to the cream, almost balm-like texture, whether I used my fingers, a beauty blender or brush. Plus, it is buildable too, so you can achieve a naturally flushed or sun-kissed look, as well as a bold and more glamorous finish. The balm texture glides onto my skin, whether it is applied on top of primer, tinted moisturiser, or worn on its own over your skincare. Some balm make-up sticks can run or wear off quickly, but this stays put for some time. This creation is multifunctional, as it can be applied on the cheeks, eyelids, or lips. So, it's well worth its £30 price tag. Yes, it may take up some space in your make-up bag, but it is easy to carry in your bag and take on the go, which is another reason I love this new release. Whether it's the only make-up product you use as part of a slimmed down beauty routine, or one step in a multi-step routine, is up to you. But it stays put for hours, and is a product I've used on repeat for all occasions over the last few weeks. How to watch Netflix's Building the Band with Liam Payne
The late singer appeared in the series Building the Band where he was a guest judge. The star, best known for being one of the five former members of One Direction, died in October, aged 31, after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Argentina. Prior to his death, he had filmed for the new competition series which has been described as a 'music experiment' as 50 singers must form a band without seeing or meeting one another. Could one girl group survive two lead singers? 👀 Building The Band, a new competition series where 50 singers compete to form bands without ever seeing each other, premieres July 9. — Netflix (@netflix) July 3, 2025 Listening to each performance through individual booths, only six bands will make it out. They will then meet their fellow bandmates and be faced with the obstacle of managing personalities, choreographies and style ahead of the live performances. Payne appeared in a trailer for the series alongside Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland, host AJ McClean and mentor Nicole Scherzinger. In the trailer, he is seen giving feedback to the contestants and says: 'I need to feel that connection between you guys.' When does Netflix release shows?
