Rihanna Teaches Riot Rose What Fashionably Late Really Looks Like

Voguea day ago
What does the concept of being 'fashionably late' mean to you? 10-15 minutes to give your host some grace? Well, for Rihanna it means being the one to close out every Met Gala red carpet (while announcing your third baby and still winning with your look) and the final star to take your fashion week front row seat. It doesn't look great on everyone, but the world stops and starts for Rih Rih.
Except for yesterday evening, in Paris. Rihanna and her young son Riot Rose stepped out in the city for an appointment at Dior on Avenue Montaigne, to find the boutique was unexpectedly closed. By reports, though, it was 1a.m. The pop star kept up her striking maternity style street style though, wearing a navy layered shrunken polo by Alexander Wang that sat above her bump, as well as some turned down gray cargo pants from the brand, and black ballet flats.
And despite her vast and varied handbag collection, she's kept her new canary yellow and red stitched Dior book tote on her arm for her entire Paris trip so far—the Bram Stoker's Dracula-emblazoned bag by new creative director Jonathan Anderson, who Rih has supported through both his Loewe days and his eponymous brand. She wore her hair up with loose curly pieces, a slick two-tone lip, and a pair of oval spectacles. Son Riot Rose—who she shares with partner A$AP Rocky—looked adorable in a striped blue and gray two piece, checkerboard Vans slip-ons, and a pacifier as his own star accessory.

Addressed: Should You Wear a Swimsuit On Dry Land?

Welcome to Addressed, a weekly column where we, ahem, address the joys (and tribulations!) of getting dressed. So far we've unpacked how to wear shorts at the office and beyond, how to pack a carry-on bag for a work trip, how to dress with style in your third trimester, and even how to layer without looking like that chair in your room (you know the one). Download the Vogue app, and find our Style Advice section to submit your question. Every once in a while, a collection comes along so exactingly crafted that it makes you reconsider your wardrobe or, faced with that impossibility, make you wish for at least one chance to go all-in on the fantasy in your very-real life. Such was the case of Ryota Iwai's latest Auralee collection, shown in Paris last week. In the second look, a model walked out wearing a simple two-piece swimsuit consisting of a scoopneck top and little shorts in a gorgeous shade of citrine tipped in white, topped off with a short black thigh-grazing leather jacket, and a long black trench coat, socks, and sandals. Suddenly a simple question arose; wait, can you just wear a swimsuit out on dry land? Now, I am not by any means insinuating that this is something that can be done at the workplace—unless you're a lifeguard, I guess—but on those extra-warm summer days, when you go to the beach or the pool, or if you're simply vacationing somewhere when you can live out fashion fantasies, this really feels like the right way to be. The vibes are carefree and youthful—something that always says summer to me, no matter how old I get. The gold-standard for wearing a swimsuit-as-clothing is the pairing of a one-piece with trousers or a skirt, as if it were a bodysuit. I've never really been a subscriber to this formula myself, but I have to say that looking at the way Iwai paired the super-sporty maillot with a very proper pair of pleated (and belted!) trousers feels alluring. I think it's precisely that contrast—the super casual with the business-casual—that makes the combination feel so fresh. Iwai also styled a lot of the looks with boy shorts. In New York there is no shortage of young women in teeny shorts that look like underwear (not to be all Cher Horowitz's dad), and this is not the first runway collection in recent memory to encourage the wearing of tiny bottoms out on the street, but on the Auralee runway they felt more matter-of-fact wardrobing and less 'styled runway look.' Take a look at the striped button-down shirt artfully gathered at the waist and paired with a swim shorts two-piece, or the navy bottoms worn with a double-layered tank and paired—inexplicably, geniusly—with black buckled moto boots and socks. Again, it's the unexpected pairings that make it so good. Rachel Comey also leaned into this wet-dry mix, with a swim micro-skirt (shorts attached!), accompanied by a breezy knit polo and sneakers. A full-coverage swim bottom is also the perfect way to wear sheer clothes—whether dreamy boho dresses or minimal pencil skirts. So why not consider a little experimentation? Old Navy has basic black swim shorts to layer underneath short tunics or jackets, and Reformation makes a blue plaid pair for more romantic stylings, as well as a classic striped one-piece that might look fab with a pair of fab '70s style wide-leg, high-waist jeans. As long as the combo feels just a little off, it's likely to be big-time right.

Paul Pogba targeting 2026 World Cup after joining Monaco

Paul Pogba says he has not changed almost two years since his last professional match, and is targeting an international return with France at the 2026 World Cup after signing for Monaco. The 32-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Ligue 1 club last week, having had his contract with Juventus ended in November 2024 after having his four-year ban for failing an anti-doping test reduced to 18 months. Advertisement The Frenchman was famed for his flamboyant style on and off the pitch, and upon his return to football, Pogba says he is still the same player. Speaking at his unveiling on Thursday, Pogba said: 'I was 25 years old then. Now I'm 32 years old with three kids. I only want to be focused on the pitch, that's all that matters to me. 'You know me. I like dancing, I like haircuts, I like clothes, I haven't changed. I'm the same Paul Pogba but with another, maybe bigger determination. 'Those who stayed close to me were my family and my children; that was my motivation to not let anything go. My dream is to watch my fans celebrate a goal with a dab.' 🥹 — AS Monaco 🇲🇨 (@AS_Monaco) June 28, 2025 A video posted by Monaco last week showed Pogba in tears while he signed his contract with the French club. When asked about his emotional contract signing, Pogba said: 'It's true you saw a lot of emotion. It's very rare to see me cry like that, so I hope you enjoyed it. A lot of images came into my head. The story of doping, injuries, and so on, to come back and sign for a club that believed in me. It was all that came back when I was signing the contract. I couldn't hold back. It was a moment of joy, too, and that's what was important for me. 'I've seen a lot of messages that have really touched me, and I'm really happy to see that. Support, whether from fans or people in general. At Monaco, I've seen that there's a very, very good structure, a very good energy, and very good people who are going to help me get back to my best level. I'm a determined person who wants to come back and get back to enjoying myself on the pitch. To regain the pleasure I lost. With time and patience, to get back to my best.' Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro knows it will take time for the midfielder to return to match fitness, but that he is motivated to represent his country in the United States, Canada and Mexico next summer. 'Of course, we know that he needs the time to come back,' Scuro said. 'And we are ready to do the process. Advertisement 'We expect three months from the first part of the process, building up, then for us to be able to see Paul coming to his best version. Our challenge together is to make him able to deserve a place on the national team. 'He has the desire to play at the next World Cup. It was a big part of his motivation. He wants his kids to see him playing at the top level. He wants to build his image for his kids also — this was a very, very important trigger that we also found — and again, he's a top athlete, top player.' Paul Pogba présenté à la presse ✅🇫🇷 — AS Monaco 🇲🇨 (@AS_Monaco) July 3, 2025 Despite the abrupt ending to his second spell at Juve, Pogba says that he holds no bad blood towards the Italian club. 'I'm not vengeful,' he said. 'I'm grateful because it helped me to grow, it helped me see real life and what can happen in life. I've got no revenge to take on anyone, I'm just happy to be back on the pitch and do what I enjoy the most in the world. 'Juve is still in my heart. Lots of things happened, some things were good, others less good. (Andrea) Agnelli, the president, sent me text messages that were supportive. 'When I didn't receive it, that was different. I've always loved Juve, I will always love it, but the past is the past, I don't want to talk about a war, there's no war.' Monaco's first game of the new Ligue 1 season is against Le Havre on August 17 — a team where Pogba progressed through the youth academy before joining Manchester United in 2008. Scuro confirmed that Pogba would not be fit for that match. Pogba's arrival at Monaco follows the free transfer of Eric Dier from Bayern Munich and the loan signing of Ansu Fati from Barcelona last week.
