Eastnders' Elaine fears the worst as she makes discovery about Linda and George
Elaine Knight (Harriet Thorpe) feels completely and utterly betrayed by daughter Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in EastEnders next week.
It's quite ironic, given all Elaine has been doing since her separation from husband George (Colin Salmon) is neglecting Linda's wellbeing.
In the last two weeks she's left her to run The Queen Vic alone, while she partied with friends, gave lavish hand outs to their neighbour Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) and to top it all off, serving underage children.
Two of the local teens then robbed jugs of punch, which were then consumed by their younger peers.
It seemed to be the straw that broke the camel's back for Linda, who decided she only had bad memories of her 11 year stint behind the bar, and was deciding to sell her half.
Undoubtedly this was prompted by fears that Elaine too would have to move on, as ruthless George decided he was going to fight for his wife's part of the boozer in their divorce settlement.
In upcoming scenes, the women continue to be at loggerheads over Linda's choice, and the matter only worsens when the police arrive to question Elaine about her shocking actions.
With the threat of losing their license looming large, an emotional Linda rushes off to the caff.
While there, she bumps unto George, and the two have a surprising heart to heart about recent events. She explains that she wants to sell-up, and although he supports her plan, he also urges her to consider Elaine's feelings.
Little do the pair realise, she is watching on from afar, and comes to a shocking conclusion about what they were discussing.
Elaine thinks that they're plotting against her. More Trending
She heads to the bank with the intention of securing a business loan, but after being knocked back, she proposes the idea of grandson Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) being her silent partner.
He's strongly against the idea and reaffirms to Linda that the time has come for them to go.
Elaine reaches breaking point, and amid her frustration, collapses on the ground.

ITV 'sign up' huge soap actor and I'm A Celeb star for big money gameshow
ITV have reportedly made a huge move to sign up two actors with great 'charisma' to present a brand new gameshow to be aired on Saturday nights TV fans are set for a real treat with ITV's latest gameshow signings, according to reports. It's suggested the channel is to welcome an "amazing duo on-screen" to front a new gameshow. Claims suggest the top secret new Saturday evening show is set to air next year. And at the helm is said to be Rivals duo Danny Dyer and Emily Atack. The former EastEnders man, 47, and star of The Inbetweeners, 35, will reportedly start filming to project later this year. It comes after their successful performance on Disney+'s Rivals. The series, based on Jilly Cooper's bonkbuster books, was well received by fans and saw the duo roundly praised for their roles. Now, a source has claimed it's this accoladed that had the ITV bosses clamouring to sign the duo. Speaking to the Sun, a source said: "Bosses have been impressed with Danny and Emily's charisma on Rivals and thought they'd make an amazing duo on-screen to freshen up their entertainment talent. 'They're an unlikely pair but have appeared on a few panel shows together and have plenty of fun energy that is perfect for the tone that ITV want to set. Producers are keen to trial new presenting partnerships to get people talking, and both Emily and Danny have huge appeal.' And they added: "ITV is constantly trying to create the next big show and duo. It's about getting the chemistry just right.' It continues Danny's huge life turnaround. The actor has been open about his previous struggles in recent years. He revealed the moment of clarity to make a change to his life after he was 'slowly killing himself' as he was 'off his head' after the National TV Awards. Looking back at his plight with interviewer Louis Theroux, Danny said previously he knew he was 'destroying himself' and his career. And he admitted that at the time he was on EastEnders playing Mick Carter, but he would head into rehab in Cape Town in 2016. He said: "I had a moment of clarity where I had been on it all night after the NTAs. I think I'd won and that's always on like a Tuesday or something and I had to go to work. There's another thing with EastEnders, is that they go, yeah, come celebrate NTAs, but you are up at seven in the morning. So anyway, I'd just overdone it again and I just could not work out how to get my jeans on. 'I was just sitting on my ensuite toilet trying to work out what leg goes in what, and I don't why. I've sort of had many of them moments over the years of me being completely off my head. " But that one really resonated with me. It was more because I looked up, my wife was just watching me and she looked shattered and she looked ill." As he continued to open up about the moment, he then revealed he made the decision to go to rehab in Cape Town after this awards show after-party at his house. Dad-of-three Danny also previously told the BBC receiving a letter from his daughter Dani while at a rehab facility in 2016 was what convinced him to continue his treatment.

Emmerdale's Sarah Sugden star wants two major ITV soap legends to return
Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) is facing a difficult time in Emmerdale following a cervical cancer diagnosis. Already living with a condition called Fanconi anaemia, which could mean she'll have a shorter than average lifespan, Sarah has made the decision to have IVF so she can become a mother. She previously thought she was pregnant, but while his turned out to be a false alarm it left her realising that she desperately wants to be a mum before it's too late. She decided to look into having IVF, and it was at an appointment about the IVF that a possible problem was spotted. 'She's trying to stay positive, she thinks everything is going to work out. She's obviously dealt with cancer growing up, she's been through so much she's quite good at handling stuff like that as much as it hurts to hear. 'She takes the route of 'I'm going to focus on having this baby and the IVF,' so that's where she's at with her mental state. She just wants to have this baby and get the cancer out the way.' Tragically, earlier this week, she was told she can no longer carry a child. As Sarah prepared herself for the operation, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) arrived, ready to support her. The two characters ended up having a really moving conversation about their connection. Sarah called Charity strong, and said she's been a better mum to her than her actual mother Debbie, who now lives in Australia. The conversation quickly changed when the IVF was brought up. Sarah spotted the look on Charity's face, and realised that she still didn't think her plan was a good idea. The argument was not resolved, unfortunately, as Sarah was wheeled away to theatre in the middle of their clash. While she waited, Charity became consumed with guilt over the row, and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) of all people did his best to make her feel better. Moments later, Sarah's surgeon arrived to reveal some news. As Sarah woke up, Charity and Cain stood beside the bed as she was told a complication occurred during surgery. As a result of this and Sarah's Fanconi Anemia, she had to have a hysterectomy – and Sarah knew exactly what that meant. As a result of this and Sarah's Fanconi Anemia, she had to have a hysterectomy – and Sarah knew exactly what that meant. Having been at Emmerdale for eight years, Katie has reflected about her time growing up on the show. 'It's funny because when I came into the show, I was the kid on set,' she told us. 'I wouldn't get involved in all the adult conversations and now Emma [Atkins] is my best friend. She's a 50-year-old woman and is one of my bestest friends. 'I know we all say it's like a family, but it really is. If I ever need help with anything I've got someone to turn to. It's been nice. The Dingle WhatsApp group chat, that's always going off. It's called 12 Angry Dingles after that storyline with Lydia (Karen Blick). We're a really tight bunch and I adore them all.' Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? There are two Emmerdale legends that Katie would love to see back in the Dales, however, and that's Charley Webb and Kelvin Fletcher, who played Sarah's parents Debbie Dingle and Andy Sugden. Charley left the show in 2021. More Trending 'Funnily enough I never met Kelvin Fletcher,' Katie told us, as Kelvin was last seen in the show in 2016. 'Obviously it would be great if he came back and we got a chance to explore their relationship. And obviously Charley, she was my person here for so many years. She really took me under her wing when I joined the show so it would be so nice to work with them both. I'd like that.' View More » This article was originally published on 23rd May 2025.
