A longtime WWE Superstar who has influenced countless wrestlers behind the scenes is retiring and calling it a career.
After a remarkable 25-year career in professional wrestling, former NXT UK Women's Champion Meiko Satomura is preparing for her official retirement match, scheduled for April 29th in Tokyo, Japan, under the banner of her co-founded promotion, Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling. It will see Satomura alongside her trainee, the 20-year-old Manami, against the duo of Aja Kong and Sendai Girls Champion Chihiro Hashimoto. This final match has a background as Satomura shares a storied history with both Kong, a rivalry spanning decades, and Hashimoto, against whom she has clashed in previous years.
Despite this impending farewell match in Japan, Satomura remains listed on WWE's active roster and appears to still be involved in a coaching capacity for NXT. She maintained an in-ring presence for WWE in 2024 during the company's tour of Japan, with her last WWE match being a singles contest for the WWE Women's Championship against Bayley.

Her final televised match under the WWE banner was against Roxanne Perez at NXT Roadblock in March 2023. Satomura's extensive career began in the mid-1990s, when she competed in WCW during its attempt to establish a women's division. She also won numerous championship victories across various promotions in Japan.

WWE champion Gunther admits Goldberg is still 'very intimidating personality' as he gears up for title match
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is next. At least that's what Hall of Famer Goldberg declared as he re-entered the professional wrestling world for one final match. He has had his sights set on "The Ring General" since their interaction at Bad Blood last year. Goldberg will look to avenge some of the comments Gunther made about him and his family at "Saturday Night's Main Event" on July 12. Gunther told Fox News Digital he was looking forward to the opportunity, even as Goldberg has threatened to "beat the f---" out of him. "That is the intensity you expect from Bill Goldberg, that is what he is known for," Gunther said. "He is not somebody that beats around the bush or tells a lengthy story about all the intricate details of why he acts the way he acts. He is straight to the point and that is what made him stand out throughout his whole career. "He is 58 years old now, but I can tell everyone when he is in the ring with me, like in front of me, this man is a very intimidating personality, very tall person, still in fantastic shape, so yeah, I am ready for it, and I am ready to face it. It is going to be very interesting how it plays out in the ring." Gunther teased Goldberg in recent weeks about defeating him in three minutes – something Goldberg was famous for during the dominant days of his reign in World Championship Wrestling. However, whether it's three minutes, 30 minutes or three seconds, Gunther just wants to walk out of Atlanta as the victor. "We shall see. At the end of the day, especially when it is for the title, a win is a win. But I am not too concerned about that," Gunther told Fox News Digital. But it's always been me playing with all the synonymous things or terms out there with Bill Goldberg and that is what made him stand out. "An absolute killer his whole career. He was not known for long classic matches. He is known for being a killer, finished off everyone in a very short time, and he was very successful with it. So let's see it is going to be interesting what he wants to do, what his strategy is for everything, is he going to try to play a bit slower or try to stick to what he always did, so it is going to be interesting to see." With Seth Rollins as the holder of the Money in the Bank contract, which guarantees him a title shot at any place or any time, Gunther's second World Heavyweight Championship reign may not be for long. However, Gunther made clear his mind is on Goldberg going into the premium live event later this month. Though that is the usual case for the character, there is no telling how the adaptation will portray him. The entire plot for the new "Street Fighter" adaptation is being kept under wraps. Initially, there were reports that Walton Goggins of "Fallout" fame was in talks for the role of Bison, but that appears no longer to be the case. Dastmalchian has made a name for himself, appearing in "Oppenheimer," "Ant-Man," and "The Suicide Squad." Dastmalchian recently starred in "Late Night With the Devil," which became an instant hit, and provided him with plenty of buzz. However, one of his most beloved characters is Polka-Dot Man, made famous by the James Gunn reboot of "The Suicide Squad." Kim Egan moved from Los Angeles to Gig Harbor with her husband Brian and their two young children two years ago. She took to Reddit to reveal the big surprise they put together for their daughter Millie's third birthday: a homemade mini Disneyland. Together, the couple created cardboard cutouts of all the familiar Disney favorites: Mickey, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and Pluto, as well as characters from movies like Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. Those were only the tip of the iceberg when it came to the Egans' creativity, though. Not only did they put together a mini Disney castle for Millie to enjoy, but there was also a Sebastian's Splash Shack and, best of all, a Mickey Mouse-themed cinema projecting classic clips from the movies. "Millie had no idea what we were doing up until the day that it happened," Egan added. "She was over the moon." While keeping things a secret may not have been easy, Egan said that she and her husband "had a blast making something special for our daughters" and creating memories for themselves. "When the kids would go to sleep, my husband and I would spend hours laughing, talking and painting," Egan said. "It's a wonderful bonding experience for the whole family to enjoy." This isn't the end of the fun either, with Egan and her husband already plotting to put their family's new mini-Disneyland to good use over the festive break. "We are planning to display it for Christmas, so everyone of all ages can enjoy it, too," Egan said. There will also bound to be plans afoot for something even bigger and better for the next birthday in the family.
