Aamir Khan rejects Rs 120 crore OTT deal for Sitaare Zameen Par; stands firm on 9 am FDFS, fair ticket rates: ‘No blockbuster pricing'
With the movie's release just around the corner, Aamir Khan, who also serves as the film's co-producer, has made some bold decisions regarding its theatrical and OTT premieres, including its first-day-first-show (FDFS) timing. In a significant and gutsy move, the actor-producer has reportedly turned down a massive offer from a major OTT platform, choosing instead to give the movie a full theatrical run without rushing a digital premiere.

According to trade analyst Komal Nahta, Amazon Prime Video offered Rs 120 crore for the digital rights to the film, but Aamir declined the deal. While many might assume this was a tactic to attract higher offers from other platforms, Nahta clarified in Film Information that Aamir made the decision 'to try and change the game'. In recent times, Aamir has frequently voiced concerns about the standard eight-week window between theatrical and digital releases, calling it a 'faulty business model'.
With this, the Bollywood biggie has once again proven that he isn't one of those 'all talk and no action' stars and that he has decided to lead by example and be the change he wishes to witness around him. Nahta pointed out that if Aamir's strategy works and the film's absence of an OTT release drives up box office revenue, it could be a revelation for the industry. On the flip side, if the strategy backfires, Sitaare Zameen Par could end up losing Rs 120 crore in easy revenue.
Meanwhile, ahead of the film's release on June 20 (Friday), Aamir has also issued a series of instructions to exhibitors regarding show timings. According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers have requested not to begin shows before 9 am. They've also asked theatres to maintain popular weekend pricing, rather than inflating ticket rates as per the blockbuster pricing technique.
While single-screen theatres wishing to screen Sitaare Zameen Par have been instructed to dedicate all shows exclusively to the film, without alternating titles, cinema halls with two screens have been asked to allot a total of eight shows per day for the sports comedy drama. 'Multiplexes with 3, 4, 5 and 6 screens need to play 11, 14, 16 and 19 shows a day, respectively. For 7-screen multiplexes, 22 shows are a must while for 8-screen plexes, 25 shows are mandatory in a day. There should be 28 shows in 9-screen cinemas and for multiplexes with 10 screens and more, the requirement is 31 shows,' Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying.

Expectations were high from the remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal, and the film managed to open to mostly positive reviews. (Also read: Son of Sardaar 2 vs Dhadak 2 box office clash: Can Siddhant Chaturvedi, Triptii Dimri romance spoil Ajay Devgn's party?) Dhadak 2 box office collection day 3: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in a still from the film. Dhadak 2 box office update The latest update on Sacnilk states that Dhadak 2 collected ₹ 3.77 crore on its third day of release. The film had collected ₹ 3.5 crore on its opening day, and showed little growth on its second day of release, collecting ₹ 3.75 crore. The overall collection now stands at ₹ 11.02 crore. Dhadak 2 is facing stiff competition at the box office from several releases—Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2, the animation film Mahavatar Narsimha, Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's Saiyaara, and Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom. Saiyaara, now in its third week of release, collected more than Dhadak 2 on Sunday, with ₹8 crore. Saiyaara has now crossed the ₹300 crore mark in India and emerged as a blockbuster. About Dhadak 2 Dhadak 2 tells the tale of a law student who falls for his classmate, only for her family to harass him due to caste differences. Talking about the film's sensitive message, Triptii told PTI, 'It should reach the maximum audience because it's entertaining and also leaves a little note, so that is something which we are constantly looking for. We found that equilibrium... There is something real and sensitive about it ('Dhadak 2'). All of these guys have more responsibility, and they are very well aware of that. That's why they have been very quiet about everything, like while we were shooting for the film, even the censor board issues, we never spoke about anything.'

Tamannaah Bhatia finally breaks silence over dating Virat Kohli and Abdul Razzaq, reveals stunning truth, says...
Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has been in the headlines for a while now. The actress has an impressive career, having performed in multiple languages — be it Hindi, Telugu, or Tamil, she has won hearts everywhere. Recently, Tamannaah got candid during a chat show, The Lallantop, and finally, after much anticipation, opened up about the persistent rumors romantically linking her to two cricket stars — Virat Kohli and Abdul Razzaq. Tamannaah Bhatia Opens Up About Dating Rumors With Virat Kohli and Abdul Razzaq Setting the record straight regarding the rumors of her dating cricketer Virat Kohli, Tamannaah Bhatia said, 'I feel so bad because I literally met him for only one day.' She further added, 'I have never met Virat after the shoot. Na maine unse baat ki, na unse mili hoon.' The story about Tamannaah's dating rumors with Virat goes back to 2010, when a picture of the duo from a commercial shoot went viral, sparking relentless speculation about the two being together. Adding to the buzz, another wild internet rumor suggested that she had secretly tied the knot with former Pakistani cricketer Abdul Razzaq, sparked by a photo of them browsing jewelry together. 'Mazaak mazaak mein Abdul Razzaq! The internet is a fun place,' she chuckled. 'Yaa, according to the internet, I was briefly married to Abdul Razzaq.' Turning towards the camera, she folded her hands and said, 'I'm sorry sir, aapke do-teen bachhe hain… I don't know what your life is!' Calling it 'so embarrassing,' Tamannaah clarified that the viral photo was simply from the inauguration of a jewelry store they both happened to attend by coincidence. Talking about disadvantages of fame, Tamannaah admitted, 'It's very awkward. Jab koi bhi taalluq nahi hota hai aur log bana dete hain. But there is nothing you can do. Waqt lagta hai, you come to accept that aap iske baare mein kuch kar nahi sakte. Jisko jaisa sochna hai, wo waisa hi sochega. Aap sabko baith ke control nahi kar sakte.'
