Like many other teams in the NFL this season, the San Francisco 49ers will be breaking out a "throwback" look in 2025.
In what has become a tradition for the 49ers, they'll break out their 1994 look as a throwback, which itself was a throwback to their 1955 season.

That makes the look and the unis extra special in San Francisco, and it also makes the look rank high on a recent list.
"The 49ers didn't unseat the No. 1 throwback uniforms in the NFL, but the 1994 throwbacks are one of the best alternate uniforms in the game," writes CBS Sports' Jeff Kerr. "The 1994 throwbacks are actually throwbacks to 1955, which make this combination even more unique.
"The black stripe on the pants are symbolic of the Super Bowl team in 1994, while the 3D numbering isn't seen around the NFL. The red and black are great for this set, but all the 49ers need are the red alternate helmets from that era to go with the set (although this technically is a throwback to 1994). "
If we're going to pick one particular season of the two to commemorate, let's use the 1994 season.

In 1955, San Francisco went 4-8, missed the playoffs, and narrowly avoided a last-place finish in the NFL Western Conference to the 3-9 Detroit Lions.
But in 1994, it was a different story. The team went 13-3, finished first in the NFC West, beat the Dallas Cowboys 38-28 in the NFC Championship at Candlestick Park, then beat the Chargers 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX.
That's a more memorable season for sure, so we'll go with that.

Los Angeles suffers worst ever loss at Dodger Stadium as Houston Astros win 18-1

The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered their worst ever loss at Dodger Stadium on Friday night as they were routed 18-1 by the Houston Astros. The last time the Dodgers lost by 17 runs at home was July 3, 1947, when Brooklyn, where the franchise was based until 1958, was on the end of a 19-2 blowout win by the New York Giants at Ebbets Field, according to ESPN. 'That was one you want to flush as soon as possible,' said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts after Friday's game, the first of a three-game series between two division leaders. 'I don't think there were many positives from this night.' Jose Altuve exploded for the Astros, with three hits – two of which were home runs – two walks, four runs and five RBIs. The Venezuelan was booed incessantly by the crowd at Dodger Stadium having been part of the Houston team which beat Los Angeles in the 2017 World Series, after which it emerged that the Astros had been stealing signs. Dodgers starter Ben Casparius struggled in his three innings on the mound, allowing six runs on nine hits, three of them homers. 'I don't think Ben was good tonight. It seemed like they were on everything he threw up there,' said Roberts. 'At the end of the day, he's got to execute better. There might have been 60 throws tonight, and probably only a handful executed where he wanted them to be.' The night got off to the worse possible start for the Dodgers when Isaac Paredes went deep on the very first pitch, but it wasn't until the sixth inning that things got out of hand. The Astros scored 10 runs in that inning, seven of which came of Victor Caratini's grand slam and Altuve's three-run home run, representing the most runs given up in a single inning by the Dodgers this century, per AP. Los Angeles allowed 11 in the third inning of a 12-5 defeat to the St. Louis Cardinals in April 1999. Will Smith's solo shot in the second inning was the only time the Dodgers got on the board on Friday. Elsewhere in MLB, it was a different story for the Chicago Cubs, who hit a franchise record eight home runs – three of which were by Michael Busch – in an 11-3 victory over the Cardinals at Wrigley Field. In Seattle, Cal Raleigh continued his impressive hot streak with two more home runs in the Mariners' 6-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, to take his total for the season to 35 – tying Ken Griffey Jr.'s franchise record for homers before the All-Star break.

Buffalo Bills players who need to improve in 2025 after rough season

The Buffalo Bills are looking to get over the hill in 2025 and finish off a run to the Super Bowl in 2025. If that Bills are going to do that, some players need to improve on what their play looked like last season. Specifically, we have three of those. Here are Bills Wire's three players that need to improve in 2025 after a rough season: TE Dalton Kincaid While Kincaid has featured in the Bills offense, he has not yet had that breakout season. Kincaid had large expectations attached to him in when he was drafted in 2023 and we haven't seen those yet. But with the Bills not making a big splash to sign a receiver this offseason, there is a great opportunity for Kincaid to breakout. WR Keon Coleman What could help Kincaid? Coleman also improving next season. During his rookie season in 2024, Coleman did have some moments but then he slowed down. A hand injury did not help at all. If Coleman can put that behind him and stay healthy, he has a shot to be quarterback Josh Allen's top target next season. LB Matt Milano After finally avoided injuries in 2022 and putting together an All-Pro season, they came back again for the Bills' top linebacker. In 2024, Milano was held to only four games and that led to him reworking his contract. Milano will now be a free agent after next year but he could return. But that depends on Milano finding a way to stay on the field and not manage another injury. And if Milano does stay healthy, it's easy to be confident in him as he's always a consistent player when he does stay on the field.
