This Morning star brands P Diddy a 'thug' in live rant on air
Criminologist Professor David Wilson launched a blistering attack on Sean 'P Diddy' Combs while on This Morning, branding the music mogul a "thug" and "a danger to women".
Wilson, who regularly appears on the ITV daytime show as a crime expert, shared his honest opinion as he discussed the fallout from Diddy's high-profile trial. He said: "The atmosphere outside the courtroom was a bit of a circus. Notice as well the reinvention. One of things that Puff Daddy has been really good at actually is reinventing himself. I saw the reinvention even at the trial. The finding of God, the espousal of religion.
"The saying that God was with him at every step of the way. So there's going to be another iteration of who this man is, and frankly, he's a thug and he's a danger to women and it's really sad that he doesn't go to prison for as long as he should."
His explosive remarks follow Combs being found guilty of two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. However, the 55-year-old star was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which could have carried a life sentence.
Combs, who faces up to 20 years behind bars for the charges he was convicted of, is still in custody after Judge Arun Subramanian denied his request for bail, citing a "disregard for the rule of law and a propensity of violence".
During the reading of the verdict, the rapper reportedly fell to his knees in court with his head in his hands, while supporters in the gallery broke into cheers.
Diddy's legal team are hoping to secure a lighter sentence of between 21 and 27 months. Prosecutors, however, are pushing for a longer term of up to 63 months – which is just over five years. A remote hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday to determine the timeline for sentencing.
Combs' former partner Cassie Ventura has submitted a letter to the judge urging Subramanian to keep the rapper in custody, describing him as a danger to victims and the wider community.
The appeal, which was written via her attorney Douglas H. Wigdor, read: "We write as counsel for Cassandra Ventura (Ms Ventura) to respectfully request that the Court deny Mr Combs to be released pending his sentencing on his two convictions under 18 U.S.C. 2421.
"Pursuant to the Bail Reform Act, 18 U.S.C. 1343(a)(2), detention is mandatory post-conviction on these charges, and Ms Ventura believes that Mr Combs is likely to pose a danger to the victims who testified in this case, including herself, as well as to the community. We thank the Court for its time and attention to this matter."
Speculation has been rife over whether Donald Trump might consider pardoning Combs, given their former friendship, but the US President has said he would "certainly look at the facts" before making any such decision.

A teenager who fatally stabbed 13-year-old Jahziah Coke during a dispute over cannabis has been given a life sentence with a minimum term of eight and a half years. The youth, who cannot be named due to a court order protecting his identity, was convicted of murder by a majority verdict in April after a trial at Wolverhampton crown court. Jurors heard how Jahziah died after suffering a six-inch deep knife wound to the chest at an address in Oldbury, West Midlands, in August last year. Sentencing the teenager on Friday, Mrs Justice Tipples said she was sure the defendant had 'intended to kill' Jahziah after pushing or moving a knife around the boy's neck. 'When you killed Jahziah, he was only 13 and a child with everything in life ahead of him,' the judge said. 'This was a nasty and violent attack.' The boy, who denied deliberately inflicting the fatal injury, told the court during his trial that he was traumatised by the incident. Although it was claimed in court by the defence that the knife used in the killing belonged to Jahziah and had been taken from him during the incident, the judge rejected the defendant's claim that he was acting in self-defence. She concluded that while there was no evidence of premeditation, his actions were 'completely out of proportion' to any threat he may have faced. After the stabbing, the defendant fled the scene over fences before taking a bus to a friend's house, where he played video games for several hours, the court heard. In a statement issued after the sentencing, Emily Clewer, a senior crown prosecutor at West Midlands Crown Prosecution Service, said: 'This is a deeply tragic case where Jahziah Coke lost his life and entire future senselessly to knife violence. 'Jahziah Coke's family and loved ones have suffered unimaginable pain and loss, and our thoughts are with them as they deal with the aftermath of this tragedy. 'The teenager responsible for this murder will now face the consequences of his actions in ways that will irrevocably change the trajectory of his life. 'While today's sentencing cannot undo the awful events that transpired that day, we hope it sends a strong message about the devastating impact of knife crime and how it can destroy lives, families and futures. 'There are no excuses for carrying or using knives to harm and kill, and the CPS will continue to work tirelessly with the police and partners to tackle knife crime and bring offenders to justice.'

Coleen Nolan has described the sweeping changes coming to ITV's daytime schedule as 'devastating,' admitting that many staff on Loose Women are now living in a state of limbo. The popular daytime panel show, which celebrated Coleen's 25th year earlier in 2024, is one of several shows affected by ITV's decision to overhaul its daytime line-up. Under the new plans, Loose Women will be cut down to just 30 weeks a year, with production teams across This Morning, Lorraine, and Loose Women set to be merged. While the show itself is not coming to an end, Coleen has voiced deep concern over what the changes could mean for long-standing members of the behind-the-scenes team. 'The crew have become family. I've watched them grow,' she told Notebook magazine. 'Some of our runners from back in the day are producers, married with kids. I've shared my life with them. They're in limbo, not knowing what they're going to do.' She added: 'Loose Women isn't ending, which I'm so thankful for, but it's changing. It's going to be very different in the respect of the size of the crew, but it's still running. "Which it should be, there isn't another show that celebrates and supports all women of every size, age, whatever. 'But it's heartbreaking to see some of my colleagues not knowing what they're going to do. Many of them have young families and mortgages.' ITV insiders have told The Mirror that the on-screen panel is expected to remain largely unchanged, but confirmed that a number of redundancies are likely among the production staff. The uncertainty has reportedly taken its toll behind the scenes. Lorraine Kelly's show is also being trimmed, moving to a 30-minute slot each day and only running for 30 weeks a year. In its place, Good Morning Britain will extend its broadcast to 9.30am, and during Lorraine's off-air weeks, GMB will run until 10am.
