RCB victory parade in doubt after Bengaluru traffic police advisory

Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) victory parade after winning the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) has come under a cloud of doubt after the city traffic police's advisory earlier on Wednesday. The Bengaluru traffic police had earlier said that there will be no victory parade and that the team will be feliciated at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in a function that will be held from 5pm to 6pm. It has since emerged that the parade is still under consideration and that the government is likely to take the decision soon. According to the media advisory that was issued by RCB, they are scheduled to visit Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at the Vidhana Soudha from 4pm to 5pm IST. It ahs to be noted that the chief minister later shared the same timing with the media while announcing that he will be felicitating the team. The victory parade, according to RCB's advisory, was scheduled to begin around 5pm or whenever he meeeitng with Siddaramaiah ended. It was to take along the route from the Vidhana Soudha to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on an open top bus. The team said that they will then arrive at the stadium at 6pm IST where there will be a 'celebratory event with fans'. However, the Bengaluru traffic police pushed out an advisory saying: RCB's much-awaited maiden IPL title came at long last on Tuesday night when they beat the Punjab Kings by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Former captain and talisman Virat Kohli was front and centre in the celebrations, having been with the franchise since the first season in 2008 and faced repeated heartbreaks over the years as captain of the side for over a decade.

Harbhajan slams MI support staff after Qualifier 2 loss against PBKS: 'Too much involvement from outside'

PTI Indian spin legend Harbhajan Singh has slammed the Mumbai Indians team support staff, including head coach Mahela Jayawardene, for 'interfering' after the five-time champions bowed out of the 2025 Indian Premier League with a five-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 on Sunday. PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer producing a chasing masterclass at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium to propel his team into an IPL final for the first time in 11 years, setting up a date with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the summit clash at the same venue on Tuesday. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD MI, on the other hand, have now lost the penultimate match of the season for the second time in three years, having lost to Gujarat Titans at the same venue in 2023, and have not reached an IPL final since they won their fifth title in 2020. 'Coaches are telling a bowler like Jasprit Bumrah what to do' In a video posted on his YouTube channel after Qualifier 2, Harbhajan – who had represented Mumbai Indians from the inaugural season in 2008 to 2017 and won three titles with them – directed his ire at the Jayawardene-led MI support staff for their behaviour during the game, stating that the team's performance was affected by 'too much involvement from the outside'. 'Look at the Mumbai Indians dugout. When they were leaking runs, there was too much involvement from the outside,' Harbhajan said in the video. 'The coaches are telling a bowler like Jasprit Bumrah what to do and what not. A dressing room needs to remain calm and composed. Coaches should only give advice. Don't show desperation. So somewhere I felt that when this happens way too much, it breaks the player's spirit,' he added. Harbhajan added that skipper Pandya, former captain Rohit Sharma, pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and others know what it takes to win matches and titles and urged the franchise to 'let them do what they need to do' instead of getting into micromanagement. 'Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, they are all big players. And when they are playing, let them do what they need to do to get the right result for the team. They have won many trophies together. They needed to be shown a lot more faith, but the coaching staff time and again was interfering and gesturing with their hands,' 'Bhajji' added in the video. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Sri Lankan batting legend and former captain Jayawardene had coached MI for six seasons from 2017 to 2022, helping them win three titles during this period, and returned to the franchise ahead of the 18th season, replacing legendary South African wicketkeeper Mark Boucher who had occupied the role for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Shreyas' Answer To A Bumrah Yorker Called 'Shot Of IPL', ABD Says 'If I Faced..'

Last Updated: Shreyas Iyer smashed an unbeaten 87 as AB de Villiers praised the Punjab Kings captain's shot off a Jasprit Bumrah yorker. Shreyas Iyer put on a flawless masterclass in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, smashing an unbeaten 87 to lead Punjab Kings to a five-wicket victory. Such was Shreyas's brilliance that even Jasprit Bumrah struggled to contain him. Former South African captain AB de Villiers was impressed with Shreyas's batting, especially his incredible shot off a Bumrah yorker. In the 18th over, Bumrah delivered arguably the most perfect yorker, but Shreyas masterfully stayed low and opened the face of the bat, guiding the ball past a fielder at short third-man for a boundary. Some fans even pointed out that this was not the first time that Shreyas has played such a shot to Bumrah. De Villiers said that if he had tried something similar to such a delivery, his stumps would have been shattered. 'That's the shot of the IPL for me. A perfect yorker, hitting the middle stump, would break the toe of the bat and maybe my stumps," de Villiers said on JioStar. Fans, too, were impressed by Shreyas's shot against Bumrah, calling it the best of IPL 2025. Against Bumrah's yorker. In the Qualifier. Shreyas Iyer, I salute you. What a knock," de Villiers added. Punjab Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on June 3.
