The BMW M2 is Getting a Street-Legal Track Package
BMW M2
is only a couple of years old, but the automaker is already working to expand the lineup. BMW unveiled the M2 CS in May, just a month after it revealed the
M2 race car
. Now, the German automaker is teasing a street-legal Track Package for the high-performance coupe.
Details are light, and according to the
teaser, the package won't arrive until sometime next year. The photos showcase a Sao Paulo Yellow coupe with its front and rear sections camouflaged. BMW even covered the massive rear wing that you can't miss.

It's difficult to discern any other huge styling changes. The front lip looks more prominent, and it may feature redesigned intakes, but it resembles a typical M2 at the bumpers.
However, other changes are likely hiding underneath, like suspension tweaks, chassis improvements, and better brakes. The M2 packs BMW's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine that makes 473 horsepower, and even more in the
M2 CS
, and BMW might have a few upgrades that squeeze a bit more power out of the car.

In BMW's Instagram post, the automaker says the new M2 will be 'pushing BMW M Performance parts to the limit.' That makes it unclear if BMW will offer this as a package or as individual upgrades you can pick and choose. Or why not both?
We'll know more sometime next year.

Tesla to sell Model Y cars in India, starting at $69,770
Tech billionaire Elon Musk's Tesla has priced its Model Y at about $69,770 in India, the highest among major markets, its website showed, as the electric carmaker geared up to open its first showroom in Mumbai on Tuesday. With delivery estimated to start from the third quarter, Tesla will drive on to India's busy roads, targeting a niche premium EV segment that accounts for just 4% of overall sales in the world's third-largest car market. It will compete mainly with German luxury giants such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz, rather than domestic mass-market EV players such as Tata Motors and Mahindra. Tesla's Model Y rear-wheel drive will set back buyers 6 million rupees ($70,000), while its Model Y long-range rear-wheel drive costs 6.8 million. That compares with a starting price from $44,990 in the United States, 263,500 yuan ($36,700) in China, and 45,970 euros ($53,700) in Germany. Grappling with excess capacity in global factories and declining sales, Tesla has adopted a strategy of selling imported vehicles in India, despite duties and levies running into roughly 70%. On Tuesday, police guarded Tesla's first showroom in India as media crowded outside the office complex where it is located and the chief minister of the western state of Maharashtra, home to the Indian commercial capital, arrived for the launch. Inside the showroom clad in Tesla's signature minimalist neutral tones, the Model Y was draped under black and grey covers, partially visible through the glass. Access was tightly regulated, with no sign of fans or onlookers nearby. Tesla's website showed the Model Y available for registration in Mumbai at an on-road price of 6.1 million rupees, with a booking deposit of 22,220 rupees. The firm's Full Self-Driving (FSD) capability is on offer at an additional cost of 600,000 rupees, with future updates promised to enable operation with minimal driver intervention. While the current features require active driver supervision and are not fully autonomous, Tesla says the system will evolve through over-the-air software updates.

Warren Buffett's electric vehicle stock is smashing Tesla shares in 2025
Warren Buffett only holds one electric vehicle (EV) stock in his Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-B) portfolio. That's Chinese automotive company BYD ( He seems to be onto a winner however. This year, BYD shares are up about 35%. That compares to a return of about -28% for Tesla (TSLA) – the most popular EV play. I'm not surprised BYD's outperforming Tesla by a wide margin this year. For a start, the Chinese company has far more momentum than Tesla does right now. For the first half of 2025, the company sold 2.146m vehicles. That represented growth of around 33% year on year. Looking at Tesla's recent numbers, it delivered about 721,000 vehicles in the first half of 2025. That's about 13% lower than the deliveries figure of 831,000 for the first half of last year. Secondly, BYD's expanding internationally at a rapid rate. Of its 2.146m H1 sales, 470,000 were exports. That figure represents an increase of about 230% on the H1 figure last year. Note that in April, BYD outsold Tesla for the first time in Europe. Third, BYD has a very stable CEO in Wang Chuanfu. He's a visionary leader with a brilliant track record, however he tends to maintain a low profile. By contrast, Tesla's CEO Elon Musk – who is also a visionary leader – is making headlines all the time. And a lot of the time, they aren't good for his company's share price. For example, earlier this week, Musk announced that he is planning to launch a new political party in the US. This sent Tesla stock down about 8% (investors want Musk to focus on Tesla not politics). It's worth noting that Charlie Munger, Warren Buffett's late business partner, was a huge admirer of Chuanfu. 'The guy at BYD is better at actually making things than Elon is,' he once said. Can BYD stock continue to outperform Tesla in the years ahead? I think so. Today, the valuation on BYD looks far more attractive than the valuation on Tesla. Currently, the former trades on a trailing price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of about 23 while the latter trades on a P/E ratio of about 144. Of course, Tesla has its robotaxis (which are now on the road in the US). These could be a major growth driver for the company in the years ahead and send its share price up significantly (note that BYD also has self-driving technology called 'God's Eye'). Meanwhile, BYD faces a few risks that could potentially lead to share price weakness. These include intense levels of competition in the Chinese EV market (where there's a major price war) and EU and/or US tariffs on its exports. Overall though, I see more potential in BYD today. I think the Chinese EV stock's worth considering given the company's momentum. The post Warren Buffett's electric vehicle stock is smashing Tesla shares in 2025 appeared first on The Motley Fool UK. BMW to Meet Investors as Weak China Sales Overshadow EV Strategy
BMW AG executives will likely face tough questions this week about worsening sales in China and the impact of global trade tensions when they sit down with investors and analysts in Munich. The two-day meeting, which starts Tuesday, comes a week after the German automaker reported a 14% second-quarter sales drop in China, where local manufacturers led by BYD Co. dominate on electric vehicles. The announcement followed BMW's worst first-quarter sales performance in the country since 2020.
